    Shrimp and grits

Friendly service, open kitchen and dining area. Seasonal, limited, rotated menu. Chef and owner was active and visibly helping the restaurant run but also going around to greet customers. General consensus of our 6-person party was that the food was good. The poke bowls were just okay, definitely on the small side for an entree and entree price. Lobster roll, brussel sprouts, oysters, sushi, and shrimp and grits all received praise at the table. The kicker was the RANCH. Do not miss out on their house made ranch. Loved our server, she was so nice. I didn't catch her name but hope we get her again next time we visit Locals Raw Bar.

    Sashimi... tuna, hamachi, and salmon

We came here tonight with family and friends. We ordered the sashimi , as we are adding fish protein to our Wfpb diet. The pieces were large, which is great. The fish tasted fresh, which is always nice. The only 2 places in beaufort to get sashimi is here or at Saltus. They are pretty close in quality, but I think the fish at Saltus is a little better flavor. It is a casual place, almost like a cafe...our waitress was very sweet. I heard other guests rave about their fried chicken, but I can't opine since we are not eating meat.

On the drive from Charleston to Hilton Head, we stopped here for a bite. The whole restaurant was running on young adults. They were clearly being trained well, cooking high end food with great service. Our server, Walker, was friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered the lobster roll and it was melt in your mouth good. My bf ordered the Cesar salad with jfs and a hand roll. The Cesar was just fair, small portion for the price. Overall great experience. We sat at the bar and could watch the whole cooking experience. Will definitely stop in the next time we're in town.

Cannot say enough about this place and the team. Always a great experience along with great food. Hunter and his wife have built themselves a great team and place to dine. Always fun.

Excellent spot on Lady's Island! I forgot pictures the first time but we had the pancake and sushi and it was excellent. This time around we ordered the Nashville Hot and the Soft Shell over grits. Both were excellent! The fries were delicious, too! Excellent service that is friendly and attentive without being overwhelming. Cool atmosphere where the menu specials are chalk drawn. I love their Locals Raw Bar lighted sign. The restaurant sits just off Sea Island Parkway but the entrance to their parking lot is off Sunset. They are right next to a pizza restaurant called Upper Crust. Definitely worth a stop in. You won't be disappointed!

Lobster roll with old bay fries

Delicious! I had the lobster roll with fresh melted butter and the most fantastic Old Bay fries I've ever had, and a white asparagus cold soup that was to die for. Honestly everything was fantastic and the service was so grea Highly recommend!

Great new restaurant in the area. I went this summer for a late lunch. It has an open kitchen concept, so we decided to sit at the bar. The staff were very welcoming, and you could tell that they love what they do. We had the Tuna Melt, which was our favorite plate we tried. The best tuna melt we have ever had. The pickles added a much needed freshness to a usually heavy dish. The Gazpacho (half portion pictured, other half my partner had. It was very lovely that they separated it for us without us asking.) was perfect on a hot summer day. We had the oysters, which were great as usual. The Pork Belly Buns were terrific and beautifully marinated, and I recommend getting these to share. The Shrimpin Aint Easy roll was well executed.

Their food is great. I wish we got to try more on the menu but we went with family friends who decided to split.

Let's talk about the food Everything that we all had was absolutely amazing. I had a glass of sangria, Caesar salad, and the blackened dorado. I love mahi, it's one of my favorite fish dishes, and this was cooked so well. Not only was it glistening and just sliding apart, it was seasoned really well. The potato cake, pickled vegetables, and beurre blanc went really well together. I forgot that I ordered the bread pudding for dessert. Absolutely delicious! I didn't want to stop eating it haha. It's been a while since I enjoyed a meal like this one! I hope to visit again when we're in town! Also, this would be a cute date night spot. It's right on the water & the ambiance inside is soothing.

Hi Everyone, Ya,…read moreknow, maybe you don't feel like bagging your lunch today, or making diner tonight, but you've got to eat! What ever will you do? What type of food do you want to eat, now or later? Questions, questions, those nagging questions. Well we here, in the peanut gallery, may have a solution for you today. If you enjoy eating Sushi (Japanese cuisine, in which raw or cooked fish can be inserted into or be placed a top a rice roll with other ingredients). Now I thought that Sushi was ONLY raw fish (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), and Sushmi which I thought was actually only cooked fish inserted in, or a top a rice roll, with other ingredients, such as seaweed, cream cheese, imitation crab (I.e. pressed white fish) etc... But, bust my buttons, Sushmi is actually Hindu female name, not a name for Asian cusine, which means welcoming or pleasant, (which I know you knew, but I didn't, lol), but I digress, along with some other Chinese classics then we can highly recommend you visit AKOMEYA right here in Bluffton, SC. Why? Because my friends, their food entrees are actually very savory and delicious treats. Their ambiance is inviting, neat, and clean. Their Servers are friendly, personable, and helpful. Their prices are affordable, that's right, as in, most of us can actually afford to pay for them. For instance, they offer four lunch (ONLY) Chinese meals that are relatively healthy as prepared with a delicate balanced of ingredients that are tastebuds delight. And yes, Jethro, them there "viddles" will fill your belly and keep you a comin back for more helpins! But for how much? $10.00 per entree. Now that them their is an affordable price for lunch, even for Jethro da Bodeen. Their diner menu offers many delightful and tasty tantalizing entrees as well which we have also have enjoyed multiple times. So if you have a hankerin for some good viddles like our man Jethro, it's time to get on down to AKOMEYA and git sum. BTW, Akomeya is also a specialty rice shop with locations at many major train stations in Tokyo. Although rice is their main focus, they also offer an impressive selection of kitchen goods, condiments, and snacks--making it a must-visit for cooking enthusiasts or anyone in search of thoughtful, Japan-made gifts (which I know you knew, but I didn't ). Enjoy!

Never asked again. Then I asked for a glass of water and she didn't say a word. Just turned around and got it. Brought it back and just sat it down and walked away. We ordered two sushi rolls and she didn't bring utensils to eat it with. I had to find them for us. Then my wife wanted a little bowl for soy sauce. I had to go find it because our server was no where to be found. She had an attitude about anything we asked for. I'm not joking when I say it was the worst service I've ever had. Needless to say the tip wasn't what it should have been or could have been. Now the food? Awesome! I had the hot sand sour soup (one of the best I've ever had), we had two different sushi rolls. One was the Akomeyea roll and the other was some tuna roll I didn't eat. The chicken low mien was very good and plenty of it. I gave it 3 stars because the food was very good. If we ever decide to get dinner here again it would definitely be to go. No way would I eat in the restaurant again with service like that and as empty as the place was. I get why it was like that if all the service is like that.
