We were on vacation in the Bluffton area. We have been wanting to have a dine in experience in a Chinese restaurant rather than takeout. We saw this place after seeing a movie nearby. This place did not disappoint. I'm actually surprised they weren't busier. Our waitress was nice and checked on us often. My martini was good and made just right. We ate in the restaurant late afternoon, so these are observations from the lunch service. Food service seems to be the second most important thing to the staff and ownership. It felt like the restaurant has been on cruise control for way too long. Everyone I could see was busy doing something besides focusing on the patrons. Phone surfing, homework, and computer work kept the staff's attention, and this was in the seating areas around us. I felt like we were more of an inconvenience and got in the way of what was important to them. A good cleaning and refresher of the staff's attitude would do this place wonders. The food was just okay. The meal started with a bowl of crispy noodles, and I was hungry, so I thought this would be a great start. The noodles were stale and quickly became a terrible way to start the experience. So, on to the main meal. The Mongolian beef tasted like it was cooked in old oil. The General Tao's Chicken was tired, and the fried rice was just a disappointing brown-colored white rice. The food was okay, but it could have used some inspiration. I really wanted to like this place, but it desperately needs someone in charge who cares and wants it to be successful. read more

We dined here last night and were not disappointed. The dumplings are great and I love the sauce they serve with them. The honey chicken was delicious. Ordered takeout. Food was prepared within 10 minutes. Pick up at the restaurant was easy with the curbside parking provided for takeout. Staff were courteous and greeted me upon arrival. I was hesitant to dine here with my latest experiences of Asian cuisine in the Beaufort/Bluffton area, but I'm so glad we did. I took another reviewer's advice and stuck with the Chinese menu: crab and cream cheese wontons, Mongolian beef, honey walnut shrimp, and orange chicken-- all with steamed rice. Everything was absolutely delicious and diligently prepared. I appreciate how the shrimp wasn't smothered in the sweet mayo sauce, how tender the chicken and beef were, and the garnishes that perfectly complimented each dish. Despite being short-staffed, they were all very attentive and communicative, even with so many people coming in and out to pick up to-go orders. I only gave it four stars due to only visiting once, but I will update my review once I've tried more dishes. read more

Best Chinese food I've found so far in Bluffton. I enjoyed the hot and sour soup immensely. Chicken and broccoli was prepared just right. The broccoli was not overcooked, the chicken was tender and the dish was not overly sauced. The only used enough oil needed to make it easily spring from the wok. Too often, cooks drown the food with too much oil, sauce and salt. This was perfectly balanced. The rice was also very good. The atmosphere is pleasant, they have a bar, and the service was friendly and efficient. I can't wait to return! read more

Egg rolls. Fried rice. Disappointed as all were flavorless other than heavily salted w Msg and grease. Couldn't get a grasp on the taste of the food as it is just salted grease. Tough one to pick between 2 - 3 Stars. The Chinese part of the menu was good, but the Japanese offerings should be avoided. First The Good: Best Hot & Sour Soup I've found since we moved here 7 years ago. Egg Roll was OK, but better than other Chinese restaurants. Honey Chicken was bountiful, tasty and tender. The Bad: Fried Rice that came w/entree had no flavor at all. Did have ample scrambled egg which is unusual. The Westwood Roll was mediocre at best. Description was more promising the the execution. The Ugly: Sushi. I should have known better. Ordered the octopus which I love if properly prepared. Completely inedible. The worst I've ever had anywhere. Impossible to chew it. Addicted to their pineapple fried rice with shrimp. It's $11 but I get it to go and I can make three small meals out of it. Crab cheese won tons are the best in the area. They've recently added boneless spare ribs appetizer to the menu and its very good. We've been going to Chin's since they opened and have never had a bad meal. Everything has always been fresh. Service can sometimes be slow, but that is the case with all the restaurants in this complex. Just eat AFTER the movie instead of before. read more

Once we finally ordered it took a very long time to get our food... once we got the food the fried rice was VERY burnt and had a very burnt taste. The chicken was good but we could not eat the rice... all they said was sorry and that was it. Even after complaining of the wait and the rice, there was nothing to accommodate anything... Chin Dynasty is the best Chinese restaurant in the Hilton Head Island/Bluffton area. The food is well prepared, tasty, the portions are generous and the prices are reasonable. I wish they had a location on HHI, but it's well worth the drive. read more

We started off with steamed dumplings, which were cold. We told the waitress, who took them back and brought them back 10 minutes later - STILL COLD. We then ordered a spider sushi roll, which was supposed to have crispy soft-shelled crab - IT DID NOT! The other sushi roll was supposed to be spicy tuna roll. There was a ground up unidentified fish in the roll with no spice at all. We brought this up to the waitress, who said there is a communication problem with the sushi preparation person. In other words, this waitress couldn't speak Spanish, and the sushi prep person couldn't speak English. I asked for the manager. She said he wasn't there and she was in charge. Needless to say, we will never go back there to eat. Lastly, this server had a very long sleeve, oversized sweatshirt on that was in all of the food she served. Disgusting! read more

I had low expectations and WOW that was delicious... we over ordered heavy in case we didn't like something... Chinese carry can be hit our miss. Needless to say we tried everything .... we are full and happy!!!! We had potstickers and the tuna trio so good and high quality raw tuna. The egg rolls and spring rolls were crispy and hot. My husband had the Singapore Noodles great curry not dry and I had the hibachi steak and chicken again juicy and hot as in warm. The ginger dressing w the salad is as it should be and on the side. decided to try this place again after avoiding for a year due to mediocre food, but sad to say our food was even worse than I remember. The pork slices in Hunan pork was fatty, tough and tasted "old". Broccoli was a soggy mess in both of our dishes, fried rice was dry and tasteless. Agree that prices are reasonable but not when food goes in the garbage. Don't like to trash local business but this is just not good food. read more

First time ordering take out from Chin Dynasty. The online system was user friendly and our food was ready in 15 minutes. I ordered curry chicken and my husband had their version of general tso's chicken. The meals were hot and large portions. My husband enjoyed his, mine was mediocre. There was plenty of chicken but it lacked enough of the curry sauce, so it was dry. The price of both meals, with a tip was $33. I was pretty disappointed with this place. We stopped by here because Outback was too long of a wait and it used to be a pretty decent Japanese place before it turned into this place. The place was pretty bare, but filled up quickly as movies let out and others were going to start. First: their Chinese twist on chips and salsa-- egg drop soup noodles and watery, too sugary sweet and sour sauce. It's pretty icky. Hubby had Peking duck. It was ok. Nothing really all that special. It was pretty gamey. He was supposed to have fried rice, but all they did was splash some soy sauce into white rice and say it was fried. I had Sezchuan beef which turned out to be more veggies than anything else. I mean.... a LOT of veggies. I ate most of the meat and even the waitress thought I hadn't eaten anything because there were so many veggies left. It wasn't horribly cooked, but kinda bland. The service was okay. There were a lot of groups of at least 4 people that came in after us who received their food before us. When we put our order in, there was only one other group. Waitress stopped in, but not as much as she should have. She was nice, polite, but didn't check in as much as she should have. I don't need to be babysat or anything, in fact, I hate getting nagged by waitresses, so when I start looking for a waitress--- that's waaaaaay too long. read more

This place is great. I am in love with the 2 good eggplant dish. I am Italian, but the way they serve this fried eggplant..definitely gives pasta sauce a run for its money! Their brown sauce is perfect!. I prefer it with Shrimp instead of chicken but have had it with all 3. It includes all my favorites such as water chestnuts, mushrooms, bean sprouts and snow pea pods. This used to be my favorite for Chinese and sushi but over the years it has gone down hill. I recently placed a to go order for sushi....the bill came to around 60 bucks, and I found bones in more than one roll, which I find unacceptable. A week or so before that We went for dinner and I chalked it up to be someone new in the kitchen but now I know it's just not the same anymore. It is really sad because we used to go at least once a month. The cleanliness of this place also has gone down the drain. the table was tacky, soy sauce containers had a film on them and when the hot tea came out the mug that was served with the pot of tea was filthy!!! read more
