Started the process of choosing a party rental company for our daughter's October outdoor wedding…read morereception back in July. It was uncharted territory for us, as we had never had to plan a wedding nor an outdoor reception (booooo to COVID-19).... We called multiple places. Grand Rental Station was super fast to respond, very flashy and showy....but very, very pricey. JCM was very detailed and thoughtful in their response, and, based on pricing, we chose JCM and it was the very best decision we made for planning the reception. They came to set up the 40 x 60 tent a few days before the party and, wow, do those guys work hard. They have it down to a very well organized system. And that tent was huge...and very, very clean, white. Pristine! And super-sturdy. The reception ended up being a very windy day and those poles did not budge. In fact, our Caterer (who I assume has seen many parties in many tents) commented, "This tent is amazing. What company was this? These poles---I've never seen poles this strong and sturdy at any of the parties we've catered!" The chairs were white and clean. The tables were fine. The bistro lights looked fabulous. Everyone in the neighborhood walking by commented on how nice and sturdy and clean and well built it was. All the superlatives to this company. Well done, JCM! Highly recommend!

I arrived a few minutes before the start of a wedding and a staff member alerted me that the ceremony was about to begin and she was able to discreetly lead me in the back. That was so appreciated! My first impression was that my eyes were drawn upward to the high ceilings and noticing all of the natural light, that even on the cloudiest day, pours in. While it is spacious, at this event, there was still an element of coziness. I noticed a lot of people taking photos in front of the tall Christmas tree in the back of the room. The establishment was ultra-clean, tastefully decorated, had mood lighting, and the staff was phenomenal. The bartenders were the best! The cocktails were perfectly made. The attendants were awesome and helpful - they even handed people props to help them out and helped the little ones be in the photos. This company was very affordable, had a ton of props for guests to choose from, and worked with us to come up with the logo on our photos. No issues with set up or breakdown. If you have an event coming up that needs a photo booth, you will not be disappointed in using them! Super sweet and even came up to us at the end of the event to tell us how nice our guests were. Andrea suggested poses and would offer advice throughout the shoot without making me feel like I was doing something totally off. We had nice chats about life during the shoot too, which made it feel like I was just hanging out with my buddy. I've never felt so confident and so relaxed while getting pictures taken. During the reveal session, I was shocked to see that I liked every single picture she showed me. Typically, I will always find something about myself I hate, but I was blown away. Music was a tad loud but the guy probably turned it up bc he was outdoors. The pizza was so so but maybe my impression is influenced by my choice of toppings: bacon, tomato, pineapple and black olives. I should have added chicken too. Please note that this event was held on covered patio which is next door to the old church or "Abbey". They had the church/abbey open so I went in to see all updates. Really a very nice space. We booked the venue for our ceremony in February, the pandemic obviously hit in March. Throughout all the changes in the pandemic guidelines, MSA didn't contact us. I had to call and check on our ceremony status every time. In August, the state really tightened the restrictions - all reception halls were closed, including MSA - a month before our wedding. Our reception hall canceled us and we ended up moving our entire wedding to Missouri. Every single business gave us our money back...EXCEPT MAIN STREET ABBEY. They wouldn't refund our deposit, they said we could re-book within a year, but we didn't have a need to. They said that's what was agreed to in the contract, but I signed many contracts and other businesses understood that we're in a pandemic and this was out of anyone's control. Businesses that did give us money back include: Turner Hall, Bountiful Blossoms, and Bloomin Diehls. I would HIGHLY recommend any of those businesses. I also know that Hecker Dome was refunding couples their deposit amid the pandemic. I suggest supporting businesses that are kind and understanding considering these circumstances, Main Street Abbey just isn't one of those. I just don't want other couples to lose their money also.
