This was our 3rd or 4th time to this establishment and unfortunately it did not meet expectations like our previous visits. There is almost always a wait but tonight we got seated pretty quick. The menu has quite a bit to choose from and unfortunately I feel like the prices have gone up and the quantity doesn't match what you are paying for. I ordered the fried shrimp. I asked for fries instead of the rice & beans. For $17.50 I'm expecting 8-10 shrimp...I got 5. They gave me the rice & beans and when they brought out the missing fries, they were stone cold. I was informed that since I didn't get the fries originally there, would be no substitution charge and that the rice & beans were on the house. My husband ordered the jambalaya entree that came with cornbread and a salad. Cornbread was a sliver but it appears he had the best meal of the night. Our friends ordered the chicken sandwich and it came with stone cold fries. The other ordered a burger that came without the cheese he requested (then was charged for asking for it) and stone cold fries. All fries were discarded and fresh ones brought out after awhile. 1 out of the 4 meals ordered was the only thing that turned out right. I kinda expected an apology or something for all the issues with our meals but nothing. The company we had was great. The dining experience was a let down. read more

Stopped in for lunch with my husband. We were greeted nicely as we walked in & showed to our table. The atmosphere is always fun to look at! Our waitress seemed nice. I had the Cajun grilled chicken salad with poppyseed dressing. My husband ordered the smash burger & fries. He had seen pictures of it on Facebook, I think, that looked fabulous. My salad was good, most of the cheese was hiding underneath the lettuce. While smash burger was okay, it looked nothing like the picture on facebook. It looked like a regular double burger, not the look of a smash burger, kind of like Steak 'n Shake's style. Another person served us our meal but our waitress never came back to check on us, except to give us the bill. I brought my three kids here on our way back home. Upon walking in it is clean and very well put together. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Josh was very patient with my son. Josh was very observant on our table and made sure we were well taken care of . Everyone got burgers except myself I got gator bites, forgot to take a pic lol however they are amazing and tender and very flavorful. This was our first time ever coming here and it will not be our last! Overall a great experience, service was very good. Wings were surprisingly good since it's Cajun place. Wish we would have ordered more alligator bites. Entrees were also very good. Always enjoy coming here but you have to watch what you order, I have had the jambalaya 3-4 times now and I must be getting forgetful because every time I get it I recall it's always very, very dry to the point that there is really no flavor left. The red beans and rice were moist and delicious as was the gumbo (although I like a lighter roux), but always flavorful and now u get corn bread instead of a dry piece of toasted French bread, nice. Also, had the angry Italian which was a bit sloppy but very good with ample meat, roast beef (in sauce), salami and pepper cheese, think that was it? Bread pudding for dessert was good, just don't like raisins in mine, it's a texture thing for me, I like it smooth, was still very good had caramel sauce and two small scoops of ice cream. All good except the dry jambalaya, hope they can fix that by adding a bit of stock in before serving it, just my 2-cents. read more

Stopped in for lunch after a very hot motorcycle ride. I went with KG's wicked chicken sandwich. Grilled then slathered in a sweet/hot sauce that was delicious. Topped with hot pepper cheese, fried onions, fried jalapeños, and bacon. The sandwich was huge, and I ate half, and took the other half home for dinner. The fries were seasoned fries, and were quite good. They would have got 4 stars, but the fries were just warm. Probably sat in a fry tray, or hung above the oil after cooking for too long. Thursday September 4, 2025 615 pm party of 9. Appetizers pretzels with cheese and toasted raviolis 5 salads with entrees. Entrees included tacos, Mahi Mahi, pork chop, Cajun steak pasta, Italian chicken, ribeye. Service was excellent, a few cocktails and a couple bottles of Cabernet to top every thing off. Parking is easy, I have been here before but was forced to go again after my gf sister ate there the night before. I always enjoy the food , the service and atmosphere. We got there is time because they were going on a float trip for their employees and they still gave us good service , attention and didn't make us filled rush when their signs said clearly it would be a early day. We went on a Sunday afternoon between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't crowded. We sat outside because it was cold inside, but the performer for that day just left so maybe they keep it cold for that ‍ I had the panko crusted Chix and tried the jambalaya, and both were good. Chix was tender and the cream cheese under the panko was better than I expected. My husband had the shrimp and he said it was "ok". He expected more shrimp but that seems to be the case at all restaurants now I liked the cornbread because it was on the sweet side. The reason for one star taken away was because the bathroom wasn't the cleanest and the table the hostess sat us at hadn't been wiped clean; the same thing happened to the party that walked in right after us to a different table. We tried Taytro's for lunch today for the first time. I had blackened red snapper with rice pilaf, and a salad with the house poppyseed dressing. My date had a shrimp po boy with fries. Mine was amazing and my date thought hers was fantastic. My best friend and his wife dined with us. He had Shrimp Etouffee and said it was beyond excellent. His wife tried the shrimp po boy and said it was delicious. Chloe was our waitress and did a perfect job to make our experience very pleasurable. We highly recommend you give them a try. read more

Great place for tasty food, drinks and entertainment! This space is HUGE! You first drive up the hill into the large parking lot with tons if spaces. Staff is friendly and welcoming! My favorite part of Taytro's is the covered patio! It is located at the front and is covered with a large outdoor stage! The patio also has an awesome, separate set up for bags games and big Jenga set. There are some additional benches and tables that line the bags set up as well. The patio is inviting and fun and looks like a great place to hang out for some music and drinks on a weekend afternoon or evening! The inside is huge! When you enter, there is a small desk and area where you can buy some merch. You then walk into a room with another stage area, large bar, a private party space and plenty of tables. Nice for a meal or to just hang out at the bar and listen to music. The food here is also delicious! Taytro's offers many Cajun options like Po' boys, blackened chicken, red beans and rice, Cajun shrimp and much more! I had the blackened chicken salad and the chicken was SO tender and flavorful! The red beans and rice and shrimp are also must tries! Taytro's also has a pretty amazing Mardi Gras party and celebration! We are regulars. 6-7 times per year, even before we moved closer. For the first time, we ordered to go. Missing multiple items. When my daughter called to question this, she was told that a refund would take close to a month, but was offered a gift card for the menu price of the items that were not included. After viewing my order, I realized that it was also missing corn bread and was significantly less than the usual order. I try to give the benefit of the doubt. If you look, you can see that I do not give negative reviews. The young lady that took my call was not given the authority to make any real concessions to make things right. At the end of the call, there was a manager advising her, but did not take the call. Big let down. We have had many positive experiences there, but the attitude and the way it was handled makes me question if we will ever go there again. Very tasty, but i think it would be better served with garlic toast instead of the house chips. I had the Cajun shrimp and a cup of dead beans and rice. The shrimp were not very hot and only 6. The red beans and rice were good. My husband had the shrimp etoufee. He won for the best dish. I wish I had ordered that! We had the Keri Poppin Jalapeño chicken and the Smothered catfish, both had so much flavor to them. Stephanie was our server, she went above and beyond. She is very knowledgeable about the menu and took her time to walk us through the menu to explain things and tell us her favorites! In my old hometown, this is the comfortable yet upscale & interesting cajun new location restaurant with entertainment. A friend loves it & I really like it by comparison to many places in area (may give 5 stars by comparison). Reasonably priced food with silverware, plates, entertainment & good service is not easy to find. Unfortunately for me the Cajun cooking with high salt & processed meat is bad for kidneys. The salads are good with mixed greens & nuts, but topped with canned fruit was a let down. Edible, but not as good. I never been here for entertainment. We were stopped at the parking lot and were told we had to turn around to park and be shuttled in- even though the parking lot was empty- or we had to buy a VIP ticket for 80.00 a person. The guys working the parking lot had no idea what was included for that ticket or what was included with it. I had to search it online. 160.00 for 2 just to park and enter. That didn't include food or anything- basically just parking, an unassigned area for tables, and a VIP out door bathroom. We left very aggravated, but headed to Soulard for a great time. It seemed to me, and to our group of 12, that Taytro's was just trying to take money for pretty much nothing from their would be customers. There are plenty of other Cajun places around STL and I for one recommend giving those respectable businesses your money. read more

My husband and I went out for our anniversary and have been meaning to stop here for years so we decided to make the 45 minute trek. We ordered hot wings as an appetizer. They were very good! I loved how crunchy they were. They were hot and had plenty of meat on them. I ordered the classic sampler. It came with gumbo, rice and beans, jambalaya and some cornbread. The cornbread was probably the most moist I've ever had. I'd really like to know how they make it. Everything else was pretty good. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. Food came out quickly and hot despite how busy it was for a Saturday afternoon. There was music but it wasn't overly loud, we loved the decorations. Now the bad. My husband ordered the mad catfish sandwich with fries. It was a great looking sandwich but when he offered me a bite I knew it looked off. I started poking around and sure enough the catfish was RAW. Catfish should be white and flaky when cooked. This was clear and slimy raw. He had only taken a bite, maybe two so he probably didn't ingest too much raw fish. We immediately alerted our waitress who asked if we wanted a new sandwich or if we just wanted to take it off. We chose the latter. She apologized and said this was the 3rd time this has happened so she thinks there's a new cook. Honestly, they need to retrain if they're still getting it wrong and serving customers raw food. I didn't think to grab a photo until after it was gone. I really want to like this restaurant but would have to say it's just average. They try to have Cajun dishes, maybe I'm being tough on them but Cajun should be spicy and delicious.
