    Cajun Grilled Chicken salad
    Kate H.

Stopped in for lunch with my husband. We were greeted nicely as we walked in & showed to our table. The atmosphere is always fun to look at! Our waitress seemed nice. I had the Cajun grilled chicken salad with poppyseed dressing. My husband ordered the smash burger & fries. He had seen pictures of it on Facebook, I think, that looked fabulous. My salad was good, most of the cheese was hiding underneath the lettuce. While smash burger was okay, it looked nothing like the picture on facebook. It looked like a regular double burger, not the look of a smash burger, kind of like Steak 'n Shake's style. Another person served us our meal but our waitress never came back to check on us, except to give us the bill. In all the past times we've been here, everything seemed better, like things were off a little.

Taytro's in Festus is my go-to spot for a flavorful Cajun experience and some of the freshest oysters around. Their oysters are always fresh, and there's something special about enjoying them while listening to the live music that's a staple here. When I'm not indulging in oysters, their buffalo shrimp blue cheese salad is my must-have. It's not just good--it's so good. The salad is massive, loaded with shrimp tossed in tangy buffalo sauce and complemented by creamy blue cheese. The lively atmosphere, paired with great Cajun dishes and live music, makes Taytro's an unbeatable spot in Festus. Highly recommend!

I brought my three kids here on our way back home. Upon walking in it is clean and very well put together. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Josh was very patient with my son. Josh was very observant on our table and made sure we were well taken care of . Everyone got burgers except myself I got gator bites, forgot to take a pic lol however they are amazing and tender and very flavorful. This was our first time ever coming here and it will not be our last! Thank you Josh for the exceptional service.only thing I wld change is the fact they buckle and dime for sauces other then that 10/10

Overall a great experience, service was very good. Wings were surprisingly good since it's Cajun place. Wish we would have ordered more alligator bites. Entrees were also very good. We liked the "BBQ" sauce dipping the bread into. We plan to go back and try some other things on the menu. There was so much we wanted to try.

    Steak tacos

Thursday September 4, 2025 615 pm party of 9. Appetizers pretzels with cheese and toasted raviolis 5 salads with entrees. Entrees included tacos, Mahi Mahi, pork chop, Cajun steak pasta, Italian chicken, ribeye. Service was excellent, a few cocktails and a couple bottles of Cabernet to top every thing off. Couple brownie w/ice cream desserts. It is a bar and grill with televisions and a band.( a little loud) everyone enjoyed everything and had a great time.

Parking is easy, I have been here before but was forced to go again after my gf sister ate there the night before. I always enjoy the food , the service and atmosphere. We got there is time because they were going on a float trip for their employees and they still gave us good service , attention and didn't make us filled rush when their signs said clearly it would be a early day. I loved the food and recommend highly.

    Jambalaya (bowl) with cornbread
    S R.

We went on a Sunday afternoon between lunch and dinner, so it wasn't crowded. We sat outside because it was cold inside, but the performer for that day just left so maybe they keep it cold for that ‍ I had the panko crusted Chix and tried the jambalaya, and both were good. Chix was tender and the cream cheese under the panko was better than I expected. My husband had the shrimp and he said it was "ok". He expected more shrimp but that seems to be the case at all restaurants now I liked the cornbread because it was on the sweet side. The reason for one star taken away was because the bathroom wasn't the cleanest and the table the hostess sat us at hadn't been wiped clean; the same thing happened to the party that walked in right after us to a different table. Also, the hostess was not friendly; you could tell it was the last place she wanted to be.

This piece of cornbread is what you get with your entree. If you want more they're $1.25 each.

The service at Taytro's is always the best. I've eaten here over 30+ times. I won't be back because if you order a $15 entree and it's mostly rice with a teeny tiny piece of cornbread then the value just isn't there. It's just not!

Clayton was busy, so street parking was hard to find. Once seated, we were greeted with friendly service and were brought water. I ordered a ginger beer with cranberry juice added to it for a refreshing mocktail. We ordered the Squeaky Cheese to start, the golden-brown cheese curds were gooey and had the perfect crunch. They were served with marinara and a serrano dill aioli. The aioli had just the right amount of spice, complementing the dill flavor. The marinara was saucy and also good. I ordered the Bacon Jam Burger with fries. The burger was juicy, sweet, and had a nice crunch. The bacon jam was subtle, but it enhanced the overall flavor. My only complaint was that the bottom bun came out a bit soggy causing the burger to lose structure as I ate it. The fries were thin and crunchy! I had a lovely experience and would like to come back to try a cocktail!

The restaurant itself is quite small and is located on the other side of Yellow Belly. The entrance has minimal space that looks to be able to accommodate 4 or 6 people if you're waiting for a table. Inside, the spacing is fairly decent for being a smaller location. I didn't feel too crammed dining and the 2-seater table was of normal size so there was enough room. We were seated right by the entrance with a curtain separating the area. True to its name, a Tiger statue sits at the entrance which is decorated in tropical manner. The theme continues within the restaurant. Lazy Tiger has a happy hour which if I remember correctly, ended at 6:30. Their cocktails are $12 during happy hour (rather than $14) and they have a selection of snack type items which you could have as appetizers if you'd like. We both got a cocktail. My husband had the human costume (gin, amaro, blanc vermouth, melon, gnartruese, malic acid) and I had the humble brag (gin, rhum, salted banana, forbidden rice, coconut, lemon). Both were refreshing and different but in a good and surprising way. We started with the nachos from the happy hour menu and added some pork belly per our writer's recommendation. I love pork belly anything anyway. The nacho was a huge serving! And it was very tasty with a good amount of crispy pork belly peppered throughout. I had the Morrocan spiced halibut served with couscous, asparagus, Spanish chorizo, tomatoes, pistachio dukkah. Halibut was well seasoned and prepared perfectly. We also shared an order of the vegetable fried rice and added some spam because I am a sucker for spam fried rice. It came with some chili crisps which brought the dish to another level. My husband had the tamales which he thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't get to try some but it looked fantastic. We ended up taking home the rest of my meal and the rest of the fried rice which have been devoured over the weekend. Service was fantastic. I love the vibe, I love the food!

What really stood out to me was the service we received! I really appreciated not being rushed through our meal. The fact that they actually let you order your courses separately so they're not coming out on top of each other was refreshing. And even though it was a Friday night and there were others waiting to get in we weren't rushed to pay our bill but instead invited to take our time. We hadn't seen or heard much about their pizzas, but we were in the mood for one and decided to order the meat pizza. It was made in a brick oven and it was really tasty. Honestly there were so many toppings that we ended up asking for an extra cup of the marinara sauce to dip it in. The sauce is made in house, it was delicious and the waitress said it's the same one that's used with the spaghetti and meatballs. In regard to the pizza size even though they're considered personal pizzas it was definitely bigger than we were anticipating. I would say they're close to 11 to 12 inches in diameter. My husband and I each enjoyed two pieces with our salad and took the other half home with us. They are definitely big enough to share, especially if you're ordering an appetizer or a salad to go with it. Our group very much enjoyed the artichoke spinach dip. It came with bread that had been cooked in their brick oven and I love that the spinach was in bigger pieces. My husband, and I also shared the harvest salad which had butternut squash on it, candied pecans & goat cheese. It was really yummy. Others in our group enjoyed the salmon and the crispy chicken sandwich. I had recently seen on a local Jefferson County page that many people consider Twisted Tavern the best place for a good piece of cake specifically, their wedding cake . Truth is that was the primary reason why I suggested this restaurant to meet our friends at but sadly by the time we finished our meal and were ready to order dessert they had already sold out. We were told this does not usually happen. Overall, we found tasty fresh food made in house, great service and fair prices. I am already planning another visit to the Twisted Tavern (so I can try their wedding cake! ).

The fried pickles were lightly breaded, but very salty. The side of spaghetti was large enough to be a full serving. Wasn't overly impressed with the food, but the service here was top-notch.
