He knew the nuances of what it takes to be a doctor. I was bummed when Dr. Park told me he was retiring. One thing he asked of me was to give the new doctor's a chance. The moment I met, Dr. David Mir, I noticed he does not know how to look at people. He's somewhat emotionless and clinical - there was no indication he intended to build doctor/patient rapport. Dr. Park gave you a friendly fist bump and listened. After Dr. Mir examined me, he turned back to his laptop and started typing. He asked a couple more questions and then told me what he planned to prescribe to me. Then, very abruptly, he got up rushed to the door, mumbled something about coming back again and disappeared. Were we done? I wasn't quite sure. What just happened? Do I wait? Do I leave? So I got up and walked out the door unsure if he was finished - it seemed that way. If I did that to a client it would be considered very unprofessional and my client would probably start looking for someone else. Dr Parks nurse was trapped there with these people. She seemed genuinely happy when I walked through the door (a familiar face) and now I understood why. These weren't her people. She looked happy. The staff looked clinically miserable. After I walked out the door, I swore, I would never go back to this doctor unless... Dr. Park came out of retirement. The real frustration was that I had given them the exact pharmacy and location I use. When they sent in my prescription, they sent it to a completely different pharmacy. When I phoned the doctor's office to have the prescription sent to the correct pharmacy - no one picked up the phone. I called three times and no one picked up the phone. There were at least five people standing behind the reception counter at the doctor's office 10 minutes ago. Cold. The one star goes to Dr. Parks remaining staff member. Given one chance to retain an existing patient and win over a new one, they didn't seem to care. They didn't listen. They didn't smile. They don't seem to understand the long game of building a loyal practice.

He takes the time to get to know you medically and gives you a wide lens on many different options, why certain ones are better for your body and tries to steer you away from stupid medical choices. I was becoming increasingly frustrated because each time I would leave his office, I would leave crying. I begged him constantly to listen to me and everything just came back to "change your diet and exercise more." I was frustrated by this because, as a former runner and boxer having lost more than 60 pounds, I knew the symptoms I was having were not from me being gluttonous. I tried over and over again to explain my symptoms and tell him what was wrong and he refused to believe it was anything other than me needing to change my diet to something Mediterranean-focused. Low fat dairy, fish, whatever, etc. This was especially concerning because, when treating someone with an autoimmune thyroid disease, he should know that low-fat and dairy products in general can actually trigger the autoimmune response. His Mediterranean wonder diet was actually more detrimental to my health than how I was consuming food previously. Additionally, each appointment, after begging for help and basically being called a liar, I would get very upset. It was at that point that he wanted to take my blood pressure. He would get me upset to the point of tears and then record the blood pressure in my chart - and decided that it was off of that reading he would diagnose me with high blood pressure and prescribe me medication. I was livid. You do not give someone without high blood pressure medication for high blood pressure! The office was nice enough but is extremely behind in their billing. Nearly 6 months after I was no longer a patient I got a $600+ bill from their office. I would recommend that unless you have no other choice, find a different doctor. This guy is a quack.

But the implant doesn't work quite like my own. So now I get winded and the pulmonary breathing test indicates I can not blow into the tube like before. And of course the damaged diaphragm doesn't help. I feel my quality of life has been irreparably damaged. Whatever this doctor tells you my advice is get a second opinion and if possible check UCLA medical. I truly regret allowing this doctor do this unnecessary surgery .

I was referred to Dr Pearlstein by my Sports Medicine Doctor for my Thoracic Outlet Syndrome(TOS). I was diagnosed with severe bilateral nTOS and vTOS. I was hesitant about surgery as first because I joined these FB Groups to read about everyone's experience and majority were talking badly about Robotic Assisted Surgery. However, none of them had ever gotten Robotic Assisted Surgery and was spreading false information and scaring a lot of members who go online to read reviews and experiences. I am so GLAD I went through with surgery especially with Dr Pearlstein! When I woke up from surgery, I immediately felt relief from First Rib removal, Scalenectomy, and Neurolysis of brachial plexus! I am 4 weeks post op and can feel the difference between the right side(had surgery on) compared to my left side. I can't wait to have surgery on the left side in a few months! Dr Pearlstein and his team, Desiree, Regina, and Erin are absolutely THEE BEST! Regina responded to a ton of my emails because I was a nervous wreck! Erin spoke to me on the phone going over pre-op stuff and she really did try to calm my nerves, as well! He had to be the most rude, arrogant, self centered person I have ever met! It was a total waste of my time and money, to see such a person and I thought the mefical group should know. I have had the flu, I guess, since last Thursday, I saw another urgent care doctor on Friday because my own doctor, Dr. Scott Greenspan, was not available, and he looked at me at said you "look bad, and I'm guessing you feel bad" and prescribed some medicine. It hasn't work and that's the reason we made an appointment today, because again Dr. Greenspan wasn't available. I would never in my life expect to be treated the way I was by this so called doctor, he has no business treating patients the way he did today and talk to myself and my wife the way he did. After I told my wife "I'm done" and walked out of the office, he had the adasicity to tell my wife off and say "this my place of business and you should treat me with respect"!
