I recently visited Lock, Stock & Barrel in Fredericksburg and had a wonderful shopping experience. I suggest this as one of your first stops on the strip. Since nothing else will compare in your adventures!! The store offers an impressive selection of gourmet foods, sauces, seasonings, and specialty products that are perfect for gifts and/or enjoying at home. My favorite purchases were the balsamic vinaigrettes. I also enjoyed sampling the various jellies, jams, and dip mixes before making my selections. The spice rubs and seasonings were another standout, offering unique flavors that are perfect for grilling and cooking. The staff was super friendly (Mason was my most favorite employee) he was patient and opened jars that weren't readily available. I ended up buying jars of everything he opened for me! What a great salesman and wonderful human! It was a memorable experience. If you're visiting Fredericksburg, Lock, Stock & Barrel is a must-stop destination for high-quality Texas-made products and unique gourmet treats. This may be the best store I have ever been in. They have an amazing variety of snacks and treats and cookware. They also have samples of pretty much everything that they offer. Usually I love it when stores offer samples because it's easy for me to weed out the things that I thought I might have wanted, but then didn't enjoy. At Lock Stock & Barrel, it's damning, because each item tastes better than the last and I start filling my arms with more than I can carry! If you're not careful, you will spend a fortune in here... But if you are careful, where's the joy? The only suggestion I have for this place is that they start carrying their shirts in larger sizes. In addition to the syrups and honey and dips in my arms, there was also a shirt I wanted to pile on the top of my haul but I had to forgo that one because their largest size was a medium :( Definitely bring your tastebuds and your sense of adventure and of course your wallet and have a great time here! read more

My husband and I visited Lock Stock & Barrel while walking on Main Street. We walked in and walked around. We were drawn in by the Specialty Foods. The store is bright and well lit. It has salsas, jams, spices, and a variety of other things. They also have tasters if you want to try some of the items, a bakery and a small sitting area. My husband and I decided to buy some of their jams. As we checked out the person that worked behind the counter was friendly. What a heaven of snacktastic goods! I had bought some beer bread mix previously from one of the brands sold here and was excited to see their full selection. I was astounded. The shop was one of the most organized and appealing stores I had ever seen. Samples upon samples were there to try, from dips to jams to salsas. And the employees were so helpful and present. I bought the red pepper jelly, the spinach dip mix and the salsa, and they were amazing. I also appreciated that the store had a bag hold policy so you could continue shopping and return for your purchases later. A nice treat in the middle of the day! read more

What a fun store to shop in. It's such a nice layout, open and bright. So many dips with samples to try. All so yummy. I picked up 4 different dip packets to take back with us. Prices were great. The manager was so friendly and helpful. Since we flew to TX, there was no problem packing them up without TSA giving us problem. Definitely go in and check this place out. read more

At first glance, I thought Lock Stock and Barrel would be similar to Williams Sonoma, but it turned out to be a unique store with its own charm. They carry a wide variety of interesting food items like honey, jams, seasonings, coffee, salsa, and so much more. We popped into Lock Stock & Barrel on our first time to Fredericksburg this past weekend and LOVED this store! They have samples of salsas, jams, honeys and dips throughout the store. I did love that not only do they provide the little sample spoons to try the items but they also offer chips, crackers, graham crackers and more for pairing. As the samples are self serve as well, you can try almost anything you want to before buying it. While everything I tried was good.. the dips were probably my favorite! They offer the dips as seasoning mixes so you can just add them to sour cream (or something similar) and the dip is ready! The staff was very friendly and helpful (I asked for their suggestion/ favorite items) and the prices were reasonable. I think the items in this store make great gifts for friends and are also fun to get for charcuterie boards and such. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in town! read more

Dropped in today for a little sampling and gift shopping. Normally visit Rustlin Rob's across the street, but they are apparently closed Sundays! Yikes! Why? But anyways, so glad we found LS&B!! Awesome store, well laid out, lots of room, and so many tasty things to sample and try!! From jams to salsas to infused olive oil and vinegar to party dips to local honey--it's all so good! They have out some pita crackers, Fritos, and even a few pretzels for tasting. It was fun, and we went home with several things we couldn't refuse. If you're killing time in Fredericksburg and like tasty gifts or gourmet cooking accompaniments, check this place out. Honestly, prices seemed pretty fair, too. Not highway robbery like some stores. Ten stars! The owner was standing outside the store and was very convincing, so we had to go in. They will give you a free beer for dropping in, and you can sample just about everything in the store. There are plenty of sanitizing areas, and they do their best to keep everything clean. From salsas to oils to jams to dips to mustards to syrups to coffee to cocoa to, well, just about anything you think you need, they have it. I thoroughly enjoyed trying a little of everything while deciding which goodies to purchase. And the interaction with the owner added to the experience. He was genuinely interested in making sure you were enjoying things, whether you intended to purchase or not. He even made some kids who were *done* with the day laugh - no easy feat. The store is a nice break from the numerous clothing and nick knack stores along Main Street. If nothing else, go make a new friend in the owner! You won't be sorry! read more

Find what you can and walk! The shops around close early. This one stays later. So plan accordingly. Mustards, james, hot sauce and BBQ sauce and saucy cocktail napkins can be found here. We love this store and always take our out of town guests there. They have so many unique items from all the rest of the similiar Main St stores. We had one problem yesterday concerning how hot it was in the store. Our guests said they would rather leave than wander about shopping as hot as it was inside this store. We called today and asked if they had fixed the a/c and they said it was working fine. We will try again as I think the problem was not the air conditioning but the fact they leave their doors open whereas all the other shops keep theirs closed. So......we will return tomorrow and maybe the doors will be closed!!!!! read more
