This gym is always very clean and the staff is always nice and friendly. There's a decent amount of people in the gym when I go, but it's never too crowded. I like that this gym is close to my house. I also love the massage chairs. I like the kneading, compared to the feeling of the jets in the hydro bed. The jets feel too harsh for me. I use most of the weight machines and the recumbent bike. I also like that there's a separate area that you can stretch in and it has dumbbells and a couple of machines. There's also a filtered water fountain by the locker rooms. read more

I have been a member of Planet Fitness Lockport for nearly two years. When I first started, they didn't have fitness classes up and running, which was a disappointment. They do now have them (not sure when they started having them), but I took my first one yesterday. I took a lower body class with their trainer, Andrew. He asked me my goals and took about the first 8 minutes of the class to assess my fitness level and pick the correct weights & exercises for me. He is great at his job. I am sore (in a good way) in all the target areas I needed, including glutes, hamstrings and quads... And I'm sure some other muscles in the vicinity I don't know the names of... Haha. In an effort spend less time and money driving to Niagara Falls just for a gym with a pool I hardly ever use any more, I had a one day trial to see if Planet Fitness had the other amenities I needed. They did, including a couple Smith's machines contrary to articles that claim the contrary. It's a lot smaller than L.A. Fitness, but big enough for my purposes. Nobody really tried to sell me on a membership when I visited, which I thought was strange. On the one hand, I don't like to be bothered; on the other hand, some semblance of care would be nice. Regardless, saving time and money matters most. I pay $23 a month for the top tier of membership, which gives me access to any gym and use of massage chairs (yay!), tanning (no, thank you), and bringing a free guest whenever, which is a pretty good deal, I think. Contrary to its reputation, there's still a mix of serious and casual members, but it is quieter. Not that there were a lot of noisy meatheads at L.A. Fitness, just too many blowhards that think the entire two story gym needs to hear their bad takes and political opinions. The cardio machines don't have TVs if that matters to you, but there's a variety of TVs at the front with different programming. They have a lot of small classes offered during the work week, but there isn't a studio for yoga or Zumba. Otherwise, if your focus is on weights or cardio machines, they have what you need. They're just right for my purposes. Staff is nice. It's very clean. Supposedly there's free wi-fi, and I know the password, but it never appears on my phone even when I reboot. I have been going here for almost three years. It was only $1 to join and the monthly membership fee is only $10. I have the cheaper membership. The more expensive one is $30 per month. That includes use of massage chairs, tanning, bring someone free, cheaper drinks and ability to go to any planet fitness. The first Monday of the month they do free pizza night. The second Tuesday of the month they do free bagel day. I have never had any problems here. It's never really busy. Usually come during the week between 11am and 2pm. The staff is really friendly and knowledgeable. They always greet you when you come in and say have a nice day when you're leaving. When you first sign up they will give you a tour and offer personal training as well. The place is always clean and a worker is always cleaning something when I'm on here. Locker room area is clean as well. When you leave you can get free tootsie rolls or purple taffy "frooties." Within the last few weeks they got brand new treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, row machines and stair steppers. They are more modern. They don't have TVs on them which a lot of newer ones have. There are tons of machines of all the new machines I just mentioned. There are 20 televisions to watch tv on. There are a lot of free weights, a bench press area, a squat area, a lot of machines for arms and legs, a 30 minute workout area, a stretching and abdominal area. There is some seating as well at the entrance. There are plenty of paper towel areas with cleaner to clean the machines you use. Only improvements I have, is they need a modern scale, a sauna and a steam room. read more

I just started my fitness journey earlier this month; boy is it nice to feel better! This gym has great equipment, always clean and staff are friendly. I'm giving it three stars because of some technical issues with my membership, details that were not known to me when I first signed up. I went for an hour today and tried the majority of the equipment, the hydromassage chairs (aka heaven), and their indoor tanning area. Everything was clean, which is very important to me, as well as spaced out comfortably. All in all I would recommend planet fitness to anyone wishing to start their fitness/weight loss journey! Just make sure you sort out all facts about your membership, and read the fine print! I need to lose 25 lbs in two weeks so here we gooo. read more

This location, like all Planet Fitness, have very friendly staff. However, compared to other PF locations I've been to (probably 10) this location has horrible lighting. It's on the darker side and certainly not an uplifting environment for a great workout. I have managed a gym before and know that lighting sets the mood. So maybe an extra scoop of pre workout before hitting this location. Very clean, friendly staff, but very dull lighting. read more

The motto reflects a judgment free zone, at a gym. I have to admit that typically I have avoided gym's like Planet Fitness because of the pressure surrounding working out in front of a bunch of people...people that know what routines work for them and how to use the machines. That all changed for me when a friend invited me to this gym. Surrounded by people of all fitness levels, you genuinely feel as though you are not being judged by a single one of them. The environment is relaxing, we'll organized and very clean. For anyone struggling with ideas for a routine of their own, no worries, the gym has its very own thirty minute work out section, a routine designed in and of itself, with a signal light prompting when it is time to transition to the next machine, I love it! Machines and weight lifting options galore! And just when you think you have had enough time burning some calories, relax a little with some time in the tanning booth or massage chairs. Yep. This gym truly seems to have thought of everything and placed it under one roof. Get out there and have fun getting fit! read more

Decent hours, does not promote health and wellness to our younger generations. Hence the fact my 9 yr old wants to train during the winter for soccer in the spring and was told well she needs to be at least 13. Ok cancel my membership I'm out!!! And did so and never looked back. It's very unfortunate that these places especially a gym like this "judgment free" & "no motivators" would not allow a child that wants to train. $20 a month for a limited use gym not really ideal. I guess maybe the YMCA will be better suited and if not them we will go to our Niagara Falls ARS. PS... if you don't use this gym and have a membership cancel ASAP read more
