On our 2018 Honda CRV, we got a dashboard message that said the battery in the key fob needed…read morereplacement. I did so and everything was fine. Then we got the message again so we changed the battery in the other fob. And that's where our problems began. After installation of the new battery, the red led light didn't blink. I went out to the car and it didn't do anything when I pressed the fob buttons. Put the old battery back in. No bueno. Our both batteries on the meter. New = 3.4 volts. Old = 2.6 volts. Neither turned on the red light. San Leandro Honda have a condescending look when we asked if the fob was covered by the 30,000 mile power train warranty. My thought? If the fob doesn't work, the power train is useless because you can't start the engine. Anyway, they said that they could try to do some diagnostics but the easiest fix would be to order a new fob and have it programmed. 24-hours and $300+. Oakland Honda said essentially the same thing. $368 for a new key, never mind that we bought the car there. The reason for the cost was the effort in programming the electronics. Please. I used to be an IT guy. You do to have to write a brand new script. You need to do some minor programming and flash the info into the fob. I did some online research and found The Key Shop. I sent a quick email to Rick and he responded that he could take a look at it. I called Rick. He texted me where I could find him in 35 minutes and we drove down. He went right to work, systematically checking everything that there was to check. He noticed that the battery was very difficult to remove. He asked if I was sure that I had used the correct battery. I showed him the battery in our other fob and he noticed that two of the plastic prongs appeared to be pressed down and could be causing the battery not to make good contact. Once he gently unbent the prongs, he reseated the battery and all was good. Total charge for his time and effort? $10. Way better than we could have hoped for. Rick, you THE MAN!

Its never happened to me before so I didnt know much about the charges except I know it should be between $50-$80 dollars. My car is fairly easy to get into since the door was already damaged from previous times my mom had locked the keys in the car (its a handme down car, im poor alright). All they used was the air pockets and the metal wire to fish my keys out. It took them 10 mins apprx. They charged $228!!!! How ridiculous! I asked them why it was that much and they said not to worry because if I had car insurance even without road side assistance they would reimburse me. He even said to call them if there was any issues. I tried talking them down from the price but they said it was a company charge and they couldnt do anything about it. Being desperate and alone in a random area I just agreed because I had been waiting too long for someone to get there. It took them 40 mins to reach me since I made the call. So i head over to my insurance company and they said they cant cover the charge since I dont have road side assistance. So I call these guys but the lady who answer says the supervisor isn't in and that he would call me in 30 mins. I never received a call. I know this was my mistake for trusting and accepting a charge that was so obviously a scam, but whats a scared girl gonna do? I needed help and I genuinely thought they were honest guys. I learned my lesson but please do NOT call them ever for any service. They're scammers and don't operate with honor.

So I am the building owner and just wanted everyone to know my experience. So my tenant called Dawn…read more& the Lock for a door repair. Dawn & the Lock subcontracted to TML Mobile lock repair. The technician from TML told the tenant that there should be locks on both sides of the door and it was going to be an extra charge due to the two additional locks required. The technician was just about done when the tenant called me to explain the extra cost and the work that was being performed. I told the tenant that ANY reputable lock company knows it is against the low to have a door on a business that is locked from the inside at a main fire exit. When she confronted the technician he said it was safer and not against the law. I explained to her that is is 100% against the fire code and the technician ultimately admitted he was aware but said it was "Much safer" for the business. He then said he would change it back to the way it was. He even tried to bill the tenant for having to change the illegal locks. I called Dawn & the Lock and was unable to get a hold of a manager. The customer was charged $643 to replace two locks. Update: Ori, the owner of Dawn & the Lock, called me the following evening and was very apologetic after reading my review. He explained that he does not normally use subcontractors and wanted to make things right. He appeared sincerely customer service based and wanted to make sure I was happy with the work that was performed by his subcontractor. I was very impressed how he resolved the incident.

I had a nightmare in my master bathroom - mold, leaks, dry rot, peeling wallpaper. You name it,…read morethis bathroom had it. The leaking had caused significant damage to the den below, as well. I had contractor after contractor come in, look at the bathroom, say "yep, you need to get this fixed" and then vanish. Matt DeMartini came in and said "yep, you need to get this fixed" and then did it. Beautifully. He started with a full, detailed contract of what needed to be done, what he was proposing to do, and what I would need to do. (I had one "bid" come in without any mention of the complete shower rebuild I needed). It wasn't hard to see that he knew his business, just from the detail in that contract. We agreed on a starting day and time, and on that day, Matt came on time and ready to work. He was here every weekday as he said he would be and worked all day. He was considerate to me and to my family. No loud radio blasting, no swearing, no smoking, no big mess at the worksite. He covered the floors and furniture around the work area and also on the path leading to the work area. Every day. And every evening, he rolled up the coverings so we could use the non-construction area without having to step over a construction mess. I had to have the bathroom completely demolished down below the subfloor and out to the exterior walls. It was a big job for a bathroom - the plumbing all had to be ripped out, moved, and replaced. The floor had to be partially rebuilt, and tiled. The window need to be enlarged. The tub and old tile had to be ripped out and replaced with a custom tile shower and bench. The drywall & insulation needed to be replaced, as did the ceiling, lights, outlets, sink, toilet, and vanity. It was a big job for a tiny bathroom (5' x 8'). Matt did it all. Beautifully. He finished on time and at the price stated in the contract. I highly recommend DeMartini Construction. I have already signed a contract with them for my middle bathroom, and will have them do my kitchen remodel next year.

One involved making various precise cuts to a very long piece of wood siding to fit perfectly into place. The other involved replacing a water damaged post and repairing the water damaged frame underneath stucco. The water damaged top plate and stucco and various underlying layers were carefully cut and removed . The new stucco patch included six layers of materials-drywall backer, felt paper, metal lath wire, and three layers of stucco! He also installed our new vanity cabinet, toilet and a beautiful front door enclosure baluster! We are very pleased with Matt's work and we strongly recommend him!
