    Spinach and butcher shop pizza

*dive bar alert* And yes I'm giving it 4 stars. Why? Because you'll get an experience at Poco Loco's like nowhere else in the city. Not even Ducky's. Besides having ridiculously good pizza, Poco's is host to karaoke night. I'm not sure if they're still doing it 7 nights a week, but it's definitely still there on the weekends. Now, if you hit the night right (which we seem to, so I'm inclined to think every night is the right night), you'll pretty much have the place to yourself save for a couple of the regulars. So there's no need to be shy around the karaoke machine. The other bit you'll get at Poco Loco's is the experience of Dr. Love who appears to have taken over hosting the karaoke. We once did a duet together. That was something. Though there's a decent selection of songs in the book, I don't think the karaoke book has been updated in quite some time, so don't expect some of the more recent hits to be in there.

Pretty good spot if you want some steak and fries for lunch! $6.50 if you get a drink with lunch! Dirt cheap. It wasn't particularly excellent or anything, but it was solid. Steak was flavored well, but a bit tough. I asked to upgrade my fries to poutine for a couple dollars extra, which was the right choice. They've got a great little outdoor patio area too if you want to enjoy the sun some. I will say though they seem a bit understaffed. There's a pretty good lunch crowd, but only the bartender seemed to be going around waiting and busing all the tables. At the start of my meal she came by quite a bit, but as it got busier, I had to go inside to flag her down.

Always a blast with the Karaoke here! However, Friday was the first time I actually ate at Poco's. We had a Spinach Pie and Butcher Shop pizza. What I liked most about the pies were how clean they were. Much less greasier than I expected! It was a little more watery than I was used to, but it didn't bother me that much. I also thought it was a little overpriced. $18 dollars each for a small 10' is an excessive premium, but I would eat here again. Interesting Fact: Poco's has WiFi, neat! Every time I come to Poco's I have a good time, will be back when I have stress to release!

What DT pizza place you know in Calgary that's got their own parking? 7 spots ;) Plus a patio too. Everything's all fresh, so even if you place advanced order, they only make the dough on that day; nothing's pre-made, pre packaged like Subway lol.

I have been going here for lunch for years and although I'm sure I've tried several items on the menu once I had a Calzone here I was hooked! Best Calzones in the city by far! At a more than fair price at $11.00 you pick 3 toppings from a variety of toppings from the pizza menu and you get a monster golden crusted folded pizza baked to perfection. All I can say is its a Calgary must try for anyone that enjoys a Calzone. They remind me of the old n famous Mothers Pizza calzones if you ever had the pleasure.

Set…read morein the heart of downtown, this 100 year old historic building still conveys its original pride in its golden leaf mouldings, the original theatre ceiling and original walls. Most of the architecture has been updated and the lobby area houses the sexy and sultry Velvet Restaurant. The main theatre is a jaw dropping thing to experience, from the catwalk you see an expansive area with rolling seats that can be set up as a classic theatre formation or can be set up against all four walls with the stage in the center. The hardwood floor is rich and dark and the brick wall is an interesting urban feel which could house really unique staging. The theatre was renovated by theatre diehard loyalists and you can tell the dedication that has been put into this venue as everything is so well taken care of. There is a killer mezzanine area, with a bar that presently has been popular for wine and scotch tasting events. The only criticism I would have is because of all the historic restoration they are not so open to hosting youth events there but it is understandable considering the fine details of the architecture. All in all the place is a superb location and akin to theatre spaces I have seen in New York City and Toronto, but it's not its grandness is all right here in Calgary.

This theatre has heart and soul and artists to run it. It's an incredible space with more history and nooks and crannies that any other joint in our FINE City! Heading to their showing of The Princess Bride tonight, pass the popcorn. ;)

There was a game show event : The Price is Right which we were also treated to . On event days , they do not take reservations for dinner at the buffet . We were early at 5 pm and it was about 10 min wait . The buffet was hot and fresh and my Prime Rib was excellent! Juicy , medium rare and so tender ! The guys went back and had second helpings ! We enjoyed the sides offered and the Yorkshire Puddings were huge . The desserts were good selections and small portions so you could try several . Service was excellent and we enjoyed our dinner out very much prior to the show .

There was an issue where it wasn't secure with someone who was not a guest on a floor and making guests feel uncomfortable. Once it was shared with hotel staff, they removed the person from the hotel, but they did not inform us so that is something that could have been improved. The restaurant by the hotel had great food and service, and it wasn't too busy during the day. It was busy for the evening rush, but I still felt the noise level was reasonable. The casino was cramped, busy and smoky for a Sunday evening. I didn't like the layout much. But they do provide free help yourself coffee in the morning. The event centre wasn't crowded, and easy to get to our seats. We had first row and I found it was quite close to the stage. I didn't have a drink, but the line ups weren't too long. There are bathrooms in the event centre, but we went in the casino as it was closer and no line up there.

The decor screams, "just relax". Hardwood floors that look like they've been there a while. The menu written on blackboards. Old battered brass instruments and trophies adorn the forest green walls. A cozy fireplace flanked by cushy chairs. A small stage with a piano, sax and guitar that anyone can play, providing that an act hasn't been booked. I've been there on three occasions. When I attended a reunion there, we ate lots of appetizers. The chicken wings had a good kick to them. The ribs were sticky but good and the rest of the stuff is standard fare. Well done, but standard to what you'd get in a pub. Big hearty servings though - bigger than what you'd get in the city. The desserts were heavenly! Dark chocolate cake...moist and rich! Fantastic lunches. The soups are freshly made and very filling. A good selection of beer, respectable selection of wine and some funky fancy coffees! Try the Raspberry Delight (at least I think that's what it was called. Or perhaps it was Raspberry Drizzle). Or, try the Turtles one. Scrumptious. Toothsome. Yummy! Staff is friendly, quick and efficient. I've yet to go when there's live music but I've noticed that they've been bringing in some good local talent and there's usually a good number of cars by Carlson's whenever I'm in the area. I have tried playing the piano. It's one of those old honky-tonk type pianos that go out of tune immediately after tuning. I wouldn't dare try the guitar or sax. They'd probably kick me out.
