    Wicker Room
    Maggie B.

Another 5 star experience! We stayed here again to celebrate my birthday and the bf's return to town after a month. The Wicker Room was the only one left but it's a lovely little room. It's less than the others, I suspect, because the tub is pretty much, well, *in the room* and it's a bit less private in that regard! ;) (On the plus side, unlike the Oak Room, the bed in here is *completely silent*!) Having said that, though, the shower curtains are opaque and wrap thoroughly around the clawfoot tub. I also got to squeeze in a nice hot bath while someone else napped...lovely. I had forgotten my book but they have numerous books downstairs for perusing and borrowing. (As a former law school student, the majority of the selection was right up my alley!) Breakfast was delicious as always--giant portions and deliciousness all around. There was also a big (covered) cake dish upstairs with homemade fall-apart-yum chocolate banana mini muffins, a fridge full of water, Perrier and sodas (bonus points for the cherry Dr. Pepper, guys) and even microwave popcorn. I think my only gripe is that my bf asked if we could check in at 1 (this was via email) and I guess normal check-in is at 3. He was emailed back asking if he was sure (to which he said yes), and then was charged an additional $20. :/ It's not a big deal, and maybe there was a miscommunication, but a little warning maybe...? I love getting away here for the night...it's so close to downtown. I still think Saturday night is where it's at so you get brunch the next day, but even "normal" breakfast is outstanding.

Desert Crepe, made from scratch, with goat-cheese, yogurt, seasonal organic berries, and homemade whipped vanilla cream!

I'm a fan I'm a fan that's where I stand I'm a fan!…read more I love these Hotels that offer their visitors a nice little evening drink and food reception. This is one of them. Each adult person in the room is allowed two drinks at the bar from 5:30 pm till 7 pm. Off to the right side of the bar there is a small chips, vegetable set up with ranch dressing. It's not supposed to be a meal so stop expecting more! Who starts off their review highlighting about alcohol huh? Well after a hard days work it's one of the most eye enlightening things you can't help but be tempted into. The lobby as well is very nice in which there seems to be different " quadrants" where you can hold your discussions where you won't be in the middle of a large group. Down one side there is a hallway where their conference rooms are and even upstairs are other rooms too I did not look but noticed them just by looking up at the stairs. The room was comfortable, clean and had all of the decent amenities that you would expect for paying around $130 ish. There is a restaurant attached to the Hotel (Hoolihans). I can't tell you about anything in there except that SOME evenings they have a live singer or band. Everybody in the staff was nice and cordial especially the bartender lady, she knows how to rake in the tips as well as make the drinks. My only gripe? GETTING TO THE HOTEL! Eww, yucky, poo ppp construction makes you wait many cycles behind the light up ahead if you're trying to get off of the feeder and past the light. It is even a challenge to get to the Hotel because the usual entrance is being built, but it will be nice once it's done. As of now, it's like a nagging toothache trying to get out of the parking lot even with puppy dog eyes wanting to get through. Oh, before I forget, off to the side when you enter close to the mouth of the Hotel, go to the right and you will find a few spaces of covered parking. At this time in July, 2025, it's still and always be hot as Funk.

Prior to coming, I hadn't been to Denton in about 20 years other than passing through. A lot has changed and this once quiet, small town is booming. I didn't know this town had hotels that are as nice as this. It's located right off 35. It's fairly new and has plenty of complimentary parking but no valet. We arrived in the evening and checking in was a breeze. Customer service was excellent. They seemed to be hosting a few different large groups and had welcome bags for each group. The grounds itself is beautiful and well maintained. There's an indoor and outdoor pool. The lobby is beautiful with lots of seating areas. There's a nice fireplace as well as a large water feature. There are banquet rooms as well for events. The lobby also is where breakfast takes place with a large buffet area with plenty of seating for any group size. There is also a Starbucks, a bar and the restaurant Houlihans. What I love about Embassy Suites is their breakfast. It's not your typical continental or hot breakfast. You can get cooked to order omelets and waffles here. They also have a buffet line with different breakfast items every morning. I like that they change up the menu every morning. They also have options like bread, fruit, cereal juices and coffee. It's definitely a quality breakfast. Since it's fairly new, this hotel is very modern and high tech. You can have a regular key or use a digital key for your room. The rooms are suites and have living rooms, a kitchenette, a bedroom and very spacious bathroom. We had to get used to the touch light switches. I can see the older generation having issues with that. The bed was comfortable and we slept like babies. My only complaint with the rooms was what I felt was the lack of controlling the area. I like it cold in my room but never felt it got the temp I programmed. It almost feels like the temps were all the same in all rooms. The water pressure in the shower was also pretty light. We really enjoyed the Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom which made bath time a party! Overall, I would without a doubt stay here again if in the Denton area. Embassy Suites has become one of my favorite chains and they for sure lived up to their standards at this location!

It was strange to me that check-in was on the 4th floor, so where the hotel lobby would normally be, is just an elevator. You go up to the 4th floor, check in, then get on another elevator to access the rooms. This wasn't wrong, just felt weird and time consuming. Places to eat and do some other activities are within walking distance of the hotel. The room was very basic and our room smelled like chlorine. Window had an opaque shade, so you either expose your room completely or not at all and the chain was very hard to pull. Some type of blind or light curtain would make it all more functional. The pillows on the bed were also weird, four little square pillows on each bed. I had to take each pillow out and basically unfold it. This was a first. Toilet paper holder was broken. Shower water pressure was very low. The room was also dimly lit. We only stayed two nights, so we got what we got. I've encountered worse, but this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. If you're a hotel snob, even on quick trips, I would not recommend. Check in was smooth.

Both Alexis and Brianna were amazing and very helpful. In particular, Brianna was able to resolve a problem with my reservation so I could stay at the hotel for the whole weekend. I did the right thing and tried to cancel my reservation. Hotels.com told me they could cancel it, but they just needed the hotel to approve it. Brittany refused every single time. They tried calling her multiple times, and she kept saying no. I even called myself to explain the situation and she still wouldn't help at all. No understanding, no flexibility, nothing. I honestly don't know what kind of policy this hotel thinks it's following, but most places understand that unexpected situations happen, especially when someone is sick. It's really disappointing to see zero empathy, especially from someone working in hospitality. Next time I'm in Dallas, I definitely won't be staying here. Brittany seriously needs some empathy training, because the way she handled this was just unacceptable.
