In the western Wayne County city of Belleville, there's a great bowling center that the whole family can enjoy. While they don't offer boutique bowling like several nearby centers; henceforth, you can enjoy old school style bowling, in a completely clean, and smoke free environment. Lodge Lanes has been around since 1965, when they opened with 16 lanes. A few years later on they expanded to the present day 40 lanes, as the bowling boom of the 1960s and 1970s swept America by storm. Likewise, this was a move designed to compete with the nearby Zana Bowl, just off Main Street in downtown Belleville, which closed in the 1990s. While many nearby bowling centers charge some rather high prices; Lodge Lanes has some of most affordable prices in the Metro Detroit area. For instance, on Tuesdays and Thursday's, you can bowl for $2.00 per game, or $10.00 an hour. Even better, if your a senior citizen (age 50 and older) you bowl for $1.60 per game during open bowling hours. I found that the House Shot uses medium-to-heavy oil during open bowling, and heavy oil during league competition. There's a pro-shop at Lodge Lanes that can polish or sand your bowling ball accordingly to whatever oil condition is being used on their new synthetic lanes. This place is the most unfriendly bowling center I have ever been in. The owner and his sons never smile and act like they don't want you bothering them. Have no idea what they are so mad about but you can feel the bad vibes in this place. It's clean for a reason, nobody is ever there. Not one good men's league, wonder why? read more

They have 40 lanes! We got on a lane on a Friday night at 7PM no problem. It was busy with all of the bowling plus the dart league in the bar area. I think the buckets of 6 beers at $21 was high... I think $15-$18 is more appropriate. The chicken chunks and fries were fine. read more

I love this place. The staff is polite, and there're always enough lanes for open bowling, even during the leagues. It's unfortunate that individuals who don't respect the effect of their behavior on others give the establishment a poor rating. In my opinion, Lodge Lanes is managed very well. read more

Normally not too busy unless it's a league night. Even then, we only had a 20 min wait. Full bar with cheap drinks to keep you occupied. Different deals/specials on certain nights. Overall pretty affordable and always our go-to over Ann Arbor! read more

As a bowling alley, Lodge Lanes definitely fits the bill. It's spacious, well equipped and clean. No complaints! But as a business however, this place grossly misses the mark. The owner is a crotchety old grouch who would better service his business by staying at home collecting checks and letting someone not so miserable run his business. We came here last night for a fundraiser for my kids school. Rough estimate, 150 parents and kids ranging in age from 6 to 12. Now, any reasonable person would assume that 100 kids are gonna make noise, 100 kids are gonna run around and 100 kids are going to occasionally violate the strict rules of the sacred bowling alley. There F-ING KIDS! Chasing children down and scolding them for just being kids makes you look like an asshole sir and trust me, we were not the only ones there last night who thought so. If your blood pressure can't handle fundraisers involving kids, don't book fundraisers involving kids. There is no shortage of bowling alley's around here, it wouldn't break our hearts if you turned us away, trust me. This place was also grossly understaffed in the grill and bar area for this type of event. 1 bartender and 1 waitress and 2 cooks to handle 150 adults and kids was not cutting it. Maybe instead of sitting behind the counter scowling at everyone you could grab an apron and help out. Bowling is suppose to be fun, we didn't have a lot of fun last night at Lodge Lanes. I haven't been bowling in many years. I recently bought two of my boys to bowl one game of bumper bowling. For all three of us, with shoe rental, it was around $13. We had a blast! They loved the hot dogs and fries, i think the hot dog was $1.85 and the fries were $1.25. A great value! Everything was clean from what i experienced, staff seemed friendly and helpful. I definitely plan to come back! We were there on a Wednesday around 4:30 and there was a good amount of people there though still lots of room for walk in bowling. read more

I was bowling on a 3 person team here until last Tuesday. I even bowled a spring drop in league. I had been legally carrying my pistol on me evertime I bowled. On Tuesday October 23rd, an employee came up to me and said that a couple of people complained about me having my pistol on me. The employee said that his boss did not want me to carry in there. I have been carrying my pistol in there for over a year and never had a problem until this night. I will NEVER go back there again. I quit the league and found another place to spend my money while carrying my pistol with pride. read more
