Service at the shop was fantastic and we did indeed find me a dress here. We had to order it and when it came in, inspection at the shop didn't pass up to par and they immediately got me another one on the way. I will absolutely use this shop again. I am a women in her 50's looking to find a wedding dress on a pretty short timeline and I did not know that the way you go about finding and purchasing a dress has changed considerably since 2001. We arrived at the store as it opened and upon entry I was looked up and down, and very rudely asked if I had an appointment (my bad, didn't really know you needed one, but I sure do now) I am sorry i didn't know the rules, but if I had been met with the least bit of customer service explaining how this dress shopping works, I would have understood and come back with an appointment. However, the tone and rudeness of the associate was so irritating I will never go back. I obviously am not the 20 something bride they are acustomed to, but what I am is a women in her 50's that won't tolerate rudeness. The dresses that I did see from the front desk did look beautiful and I sure wish I could have tried some on. Oh well, I took my middle aged self somewhere else where I was valued as a customer and found the perfect dress.

The store offered to sell me a $50 plastic cap to cover the tear, or a tube of glue to stick the torn part back on. No thanks -- it would just be sunk costs. The big difference is that Sierra works on an off-price model, similar to TJ Maxx, which means they buy overstock and past-season gear from major outdoor brands and sell it at significant discounts. Because of that, you can sometimes find the same brands you'd see at REI such as The North Face, Smartwool, Fjällräven, Carhartt, and other outdoor favorites, but at much lower prices. The inventory changes constantly, so the store has more of a "treasure hunt" feeling rather than the predictable layout you get at traditional sporting goods stores. Fort Collins is the perfect place for a store like this since the whole town revolves around hiking, running, skiing, and outdoor life, and Sierra offers a great way to find quality gear without paying full retail.
