I called the day before we needed to move it, and got lucky that they had a cancelation and could squeeze us in with 1 days notice. The unit was heavy and awkward and had to go down some steep stairs into a basement. The movers handled the job professionally and got the machine into the basement with no damage to the machine, the house, or themselves. That was quite an accomplishment!!! If I had one concern about All My Sons it's their failure to clearly communicate pricing and liability limitations. I was told that their minimum charge is 2 hours. It's actually 2 hours plus travel time. And, I wasn't told that their liability limitation is 60 cents per pound. That would have come out to $240 for a $1500 appliance -- definitely not enough to replace the appliance if something had happened. I might not have hired All My Sons if I'd seen this. We got lucky.

I toured these brand new apartments in downtown Bridgeport. The location is great close to the…read moreMetro North train station, the green, the amphitheater and near many restaurants. The building itself was still being worked on as they lease to new residents. The lobby was upscale and inviting. They have several amneties covered by a $100 fee- parking, gym, rooftoop and doorman. The apartments themselves were smaller than I expected. I was looking for a 1 bedroom but my budget allowed for the 600 to 650 square foot apartments priced from $1980 to $2300. I really did not want something that small. Overall, the building looks like it will be great once it is completed. Currently, there is a lot of work to be done. I toured but did not sign a lease due to the size of the apartment and how unfinished the building was. Christian who helped us was phenomenal both on the phone before the tour, during the tour and even later following up by email. I will check out the building again in the future once it's fully done.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH - TREAT PEOPLE FAIRLY…read more My Honest Review of "My Penthouse Event at The Soundview Apartments" Since May 2025, this venue has hosted multiple flyer-promoted events--permitting hookah, promotion, loud music, and more. I signed my contract on June 1, 2025. However, due to an event that took place just two weeks prior to mine, management decided to implement new rules and unfairly use my event as the "test case." I personally spoke with Christian (Manager) just two weeks before my event--he was fully aware of the type of event I was planning and still approved it. Despite this, my event was singled out and targeted: my flyer (and only my flyer) was circulated internally via email, and my event was ended early. Let me be clear: Do NOT book Soundview Rooftop. The management is unfair, unprofessional, and dishonest. They withhold deposits and create a hostile environment, going out of their way to **control and demean clients--**even during events. Christian, in particular, demonstrated extreme bias and disrespect, ruining the atmosphere before doors even opened and making both myself and my vendors extremely uncomfortable. You have been warned.

So far, I am thrilled with this place. I moved in last Monday…read more Initially, my experience researching the building was admittedly a little bit rocky -- I put in my application and did not hear anything back over several weeks toward the end of the summer, which was frustrating because they do charge an application fee to explore them as an option. I was finally able to get in touch with their assistant property manager, but much to my disappointment (and surprise) I was rejected for residency. As I continued to research places to go, I was beginning to find out that due to COVID, many living spaces around Fairfield county were being lost to college kids whose parents are wary of them living on campus, drying up moving options for people like me who wanted out of where I was, but wished to remain in the area. On a lark, I reached back out to two other individuals CC'd on my email discussions with the APM and asked for a reconsideration. Much to my delight, Matt, a partner at Crestwood, who owns the building, emailed me back the very same night. I advised him of the resources I am working with, fully illustrated my situation and he promised to get back me the next day with an answer as to whether or not we can proceed. He absolutely followed through and made good on his word. After giving me a call personally to let me know the good news the next night, we chatted quite a bit about self-funding through grad school (never a cheap prospect) and he inquired as to what space I'm interested in, do I have any specifics or preferences? He really went out of his way to gauge what I wanted so he could connect me with the best fit. I ended up taking a spot on the 10th floor in a bright, airy apartment with outstanding views and high ceilings (I'm on the north side of the building, facing the Fairfield County Courthouse and overlooking the Arcade) It is clear the owners take good care here - the lobby is spotless, the elevators and common areas are all equally inviting and everything overall has been an absolute breeze. I can't thank Matt enough for taking the time to understand my individual circumstances, the time limit I was facing where I was and through that, enter into a business relationship that I feel completely confident in. A couple tips for living downtown: 1. It is not scary. Fairfield county is absolutely horrid when it comes to rental pricing and Bridgeport is frequently overlooked. While all the attention goes to the North End, landlords know this and the rents are becoming on par with Fairfield, Norwalk, etc. People historically have overlooked downtown because of a non-existent crime element that I have yet to see and haven't seen down here in quite some time. I've spent a lot of time down here over the years and It's a hidden gem. 2. As Bob Dylan once said, "Watch the parking meters!" While parking around the block is pretty easy to get, you would be amazed at how quickly the meter maids come out. They've got little handheld receipt tape things and they'll cook up a ticket for you in seconds flat. You get a reprieve over the weekends, but set a timer on your phone or watch and you'll never have an issue. 3. Invest in a pull-cart. While the garage is not far from the building at all, you don't want do the one-trip shuffle with armfulls of groceries. I took this advice myself and it is lifechanging. 4. Always, ALWAYS order your coffee from the Dunkin' downstairs in advance on the app - you do not want to be stuck in the deluge that is the workforce of People's Bank tower next door, city hall or the angriest court staffers on earth at one of the two courthouses nearby

It wasn't until I saw an Ad on Facebook that presented the opportunity to rent a water heater from Hubbell so I looked into it. What an amazing program they have set up here. I pay $21.00 a month and I know that regardless of what happens to my water heater, the service is fully covered. I didn't know that Hubbell was located in Stratford so this made it even better knowing that they're local but apparently they service all of Connecticut. Great attitudes, efficient, competitive pricing, went above and beyond to help with last-minute packing and special requests. We had a super steep driveway they had to park at the bottom of, and handled very heavy furniture no problem with a smile. When my parents had to move again on the coldest, snowiest day of the year, the guys were angels. And so, when I all of a sudden had a major problem I needed help with, I called Astro immediately. I had ordered a beautiful, expensive couch that couldn't fit through my narrow stairwell. Knew if anyone could do the seemingly impossible and get this couch in my apartment, it was these guys. They work serious spational reasoning miracles. So I called Astro, the daughter who helps run the business was wonderful and pulled strings, gave me a reasonable price, and got the guys to come the next morning. After a lot of deliberation and saying it couldn't be done, I'd have to return the couch, they ended up hoisting/pulling the couch on top of their truck and getting it through my back porch. I was so thrilled, and it all happened in less than 45 minutes. Worth every single penny. The only company I would ever want to do a move with in the future. Highly recommend.
