We stopped for dinner after a 4 pm show at The Strand. The food was excellent. I had a sirloin steak salad with their homemade balsamic dressing. The steak was cooked perfectly and the dressing was very good. My wife had the Alexander. It was two good size chicken breasts with sundried tomatoes, roasted artichokes, mushrooms and cream sauce over mashed potatoes. She enjoyed it very much. The service was excellent. Our server was very good! The restaurant was clean and rustic. We will go back when we are in that area again. read more

Stopped here multiple times. This time the food was just ok. I got the Ruben in the wife got the fish sandwich. The portions definitely shrank and they changed $2 more for fries which was about 15 of them. Wife's fried fish was very over done and I have had better Rubens. Service was just okay we have had better at this place. Never asked how the food was or if everything was okay. We sat out door on the patio should have sat inside. The noise level was good. Enjoyed a Mother's Day dinner here with my family! My hubby had a chicken Diablo pasta dish but it didn't come with any side which was a bummer; I had twin grilled chicken breasts with mashed potatoes and a strawberry spinach arugula salad with candied pecans and our daughter had grilled chicken and fries. The bread at the table was amazing - soft on the inside with a crunchy crust. Our drinks were served in mason jars too - so cute! The service was good overall. The ambiance is cozy and exactly what I was hoping for - log cabin with some Native American and forest decor; a built in fireplace; wooden tables and chairs. The log cabin was built in 1835! It was my first time here Saturday mid afternoon. My guy was very familiar with it from years ago. It was across town but worth the trip on our travels. I loved the cabin atmosphere and warm decor. We sat at the bar and enjoyed cold beers and a cocktail. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. I had the Surf & Turf burger and my guy had the Sunrise burger with fries. Both were excellent. Very creative selections so I had to try the surf and turf with lobster and a cream sauce, a fried egg, yes, a burger on an open face Texas bread. The sunrise also had a fried egg atop. Service was very definitely on point and food arrived quickly, hot and delish. Atmosphere warm and friendly. Definitely recommend. Price reasonable. A very big open free parking lot. My husband and I came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. We arrived just before 4pm and the parking lot was already packed! We entered the restaurant expecting to wait awhile, however, the host said there was availability on the deck. It was a cool afternoon but we figured why not? It beats waiting. We walked past the bar (where most people were) and through the restaurant to the enclosed deck. They had large heaters scattered throughout which kept the space fairly warm. We had a little bit of a draft at our legs but overall it was comfortable. Being familiar with this restaurant group, we knew exactly how we would start our meal - New York Style Pretzels with hot fudge and honey mustard. If you get anything at all, get these. They are worth every penny (including the upcharged sauces) and are very filling. For my entree I ordered the special, Apple Chicken. It was honey roasted chicken with apples, sauteed spinach and sliced almonds served over sweet potato puree with a hazelnut brown butter sauce. Oh mu goodness, it was to die for! The chicken was so tender, the browned butter added depth of flavor and the sliced almonds provided a nice alternative texture to the softness of the rest of the dish. Along with my entree came a soup or salad option. I chose their Stuffed Pepper Soup which was incredible. It almost had a smoky flavor to it which was very pleasing to the palate. Our waitress was very attentive, accommodating, and helpful in every manner. Our food came out quickly and we were able to take our time and enjoy it. Pricing was reasonable for all items we ordered from the menu. The decor here fits the name of the place- it looks like a log cabin from the inside and outside, with animal heads mounted throughout the restaurant and the use of wood and stone to build the structure. Log Cabin.... I love you so much! I live in the city, but my family is from the area. This has been a go to for years. More recently they have stepped their game up and it never disappoints. I almost always get a steak. It's cooked well every time, great portion, flavor is light and juicy. The best part, it's not $50+ like most quality steaks in the city. I usually go with a baked potato and a salad as my sides. Their ranch is incredible.... We've also had the chicken Alexandra which is creamy and delicious, as well as the salmon which has always been great! Decor is definitely hometown cabin feel. As many times as I have driven by the log cabin on the way to my sisters, I had never stopped there till last Friday. My sisters and I had a Christmas lunch there with our daughters. Worth the drive out to the Zelienople area for very good food and some great atmosphere! My daughter had the day off and suggested we take a drive out to Zelienople to explore, do some shopping and have lunch. I had see a recent Yelp review and suggested we try the Log Cabin Inn. The restaurant is an expanded old log cabin that has a nice rustic atmosphere, through out but with polish! We started with the Spinach and Artichoke Dip that is a large serving that is served with tortilla chips and plenty for the three of us. I ordered the French Onion Dip - A super tender London Broil served on a crusty bread with Au Juice! I opted to have a side salad for a small up charge and it as well was a good size and well prepared. Jo (my wife) went with the Queen of Italy, A dish made i with burrata stuffed ravioli, pulled honey chicken, corn, pistachios with a yummy brown sauce. Food 4.5 stars - Well prepared with quality ingredients Atmosphere 5 stars - Rustic, with cozy booths and tables. Nice place for a special dinner or casual lunch. Service 3.5 - Our server was nice and fairly attentive, but did not have a good knowledge of the menu or how to describe the food Price 4stars - I thought it was reason priced for everything considered. There's a reason this place is always so crowded! Make reservations in advance if you can! I feel like leaving a review doesn't matter because it seems everyone in western PA knows about this place! The food? Amazing. And some very different and unique items on the menu. The ambiance? Really nice - it's what appears to be an old cabin that they've added onto to make it a wonderful restaurant with a nice view from the rear of the restaurant. They also have outdoor seating. I have not been to the Log Cabin in a long time, primarily because it's always packed when I drive by & the wait is too long. But today I lucked out, being an early August Sunday after 3pm I was on my way home from that Moraine Lake Arthur Regatta & there were some parking spaces available. They expanded their parking lot quite a bit & it still gets packed. I got a seat at the bar & was happy that they already had Oktoberfest beers on tap. My bartender Tim was really personable & friendly & provided prompt knowledgeable service. I had the steak flatbread which had a little spicy kick to it & was very good. I had a side salad with bleu cheese dressing which came out immediately upon ordering. I had two seasonal beers Southern Tier Harvest and Firestone Walker Oktoberfest, both were good, the Southern Tier much better though. The place still looks the same as when I first came here eons ago & they still have a covered outdoor patio. Very rustic decor because, well it is the Log Cabin. Their menu has been updated & had a decent selection. I highly recommend reservations by visiting their website. It gets mighty busy here & when I left there were several groups waiting and the bar was full and this was at 4:30pm on a Sunday. read more

We have been long time customers of this restaurant and currently live only a walk away. We have eaten here many many times over the months and years. I am not sure what is going on recently but since the pandemic has been winding down so has the quality, service and ambiance at the Log Cabin Inn. My wife and I went down to have dinner on Friday the 24th at just after 5pm. The place, while historic, is looking more 'run down' than historic including the carpet, walls, and rest rooms. It almost looks dirty when you consider the appearance of the carpets in the dining areas. The staff is not nearly as attentive as they used to be and I understand that help is hard to find, training the staff you have is even more important because of that. We sat at our table for 10 minutes before being acknowledged even though multiple staff passed by while we sat. My wife had the 6oz filet and I chose the Alexandra. The filet was cooked well but small and only came with 1 side and no salad. The plate looked empty with just a small piece of meat and smallish baked potato and no salad? Not much for $34. The Alexandra looked very rich and flavorful but lacked much flavor at all. The chicken was mediocre and again no salad? They price as a moderate restaurant but present as a budget bar and grill. The last time I ordered the fish sandwich, which used to be one of the best fish sandwiches around but now is very average. They used to have a 'hamburger Mondy' and happy hour but apparently they do not need to do this sort of thing any more. We also noticed that they do not seem to be nearly as busy as they used to be which is unusual since most other restaurants in the area are very busy. We are disappointed since it used to be our go to restaurant but going forward Zelienople offers many alternatives that we will explore further. read more

But once we did get a table it didn't take long for our order to be taken or the food to arrive. The server was very personable and attentive. My husband got the Philly Flatbread which looked good and which he enjoyed. I got the Queen of Italy...caprese ravioli, honey roasted chicken, sweet corn, and pistachios in brown butter with basil. It tasted ok but certainly wouldn't earn an apron. Everything was brown and drowned in butter. The ravioli was a bit overcooked and brown. The chicken was just bits and pieces of brown, maybe two ounces total. The corn was brown and so we're the pistachios. Not quite what I envisioned when I read the menu. read more

We have dined here on many occasions however it has been quite a few years since our last experience there. My wife and I visited their restaurant yesterday (6-5-2022) and found things to be quite different than before. The lush surroundings of trees are gone leaving a barren desolate hole in the ground which, from their deck, not only is ugly but now allows the full radiance and heat of the sun to beat down on the patrons in the evening while dining outside. Food presentation leaves much to be desired. We had to ask for napkins and cutlery even after the appetizer was served. Our wine glasses looked as though they had been washed in milk and left to air dry. When I asked for a new glass, it appeared that they had dry wiped it and refilled the glass - still cloudy and streaked. One of my sides was cole slaw which was served with almost half of it hanging over the side of the bowl and dragging on the table top. There's just no excuse for that in a restaurant of this caliber. On the positive side, the food was tasty and reasonably priced. But the "ole Inn" just ain't what it used to be, sorry to say. Not going back. read more

We had prime rib dinner last night at the LC, which, along with it's sister Iron Bridge, has been our go to for PR for years. Sadly we won't be back. First, the good. Our young server was the most attentive and pleasant server ever. Despite our servers efforts, however, the dinner went quickly south because of the kitchen. First, the kitchen sent outthe prime rib at the same time as our salad, so it was impossible to enjoy our meal in courses. Second the PR was simply bad. I have made PR many times and gotten it here, and Either the LC changed its recipe or chef because this rib had no flavorful crust and, worse, the inside was mealy and mushy. It broke down as soon as you would bite into it. You did not even have to chew it. Gross. It was almost as if these cuts were cooked sous vie for too long. Or simply tenderized and cooked too long. I'm any case, the point of PR is to have a flavorful crust and rare to medium rare, tender inside. This meat was debased by the kitchen, which is unfortunate. read more

I have not written a Yelp review in a while, but I feel it is necessary to do so after our experience last night. I made reservations for our anniversary dinner over a week in advance. We had heard good word of mouth, and were looking forward to dining out. We arrived to the restaurant early (5:30) for our 6:00 reservation. The parking lot was slammed with cars, as was the wait area. We checked in with the hostess and received a buzzer. After waiting for 30 minutes, my husband rechecked with the hostess who then seated us on the outdoor patio. We waited for a server for 15 minutes before deciding to walk out. As we waited, we noticed several things that did not sit well with us. The restaurant seemed to be operating at 75-100% capacity. A majority of staff were wearing masks below their nose, and serving food. The staff appeared completely overwhelmed. The hostess was bussing tables, running food, and managing the stand. (We witnessed the poor girl bus a table and then drop the entire tray, breaking everything.) Our table was dirty (still had food crumbs and remnants on it from previous customers). Overall, we did not feel safe eating here. The atmosphere felt dirty. Restaurant management needs to step it up during this unprecedented time. Luckily, Firebirds in Cranberry saved the night. Excellent service and food. It is a clean establishment with proper safety protocols in place. read more
