We tried it a few weeks ago for the first time and my husband and son swear that this is the best pizza in town!! We went back again last night and had the same results! First time I had the Italian beef and it was flavorful and juicy but the bread... it was crusty and flaky on the outside and fluffy yet dense on the inside. The absolute perfect bread for a juicy sandwich. We also had the lasagna(which I believe is only available on the weekends) and it was fantastic as well. His Grandma's sauce is splendid('Mamma Gulotta's' sold at Woodman's). To top it all off, Nick Gulotta; the owner, chef, order taker, carry out worker(he does it all himself!!!), is just about the nicest person I have ever met. I know some very kind/caring people, but Nick takes the cake. I just can't believe how long it's taken us to try it but am so glad we finally did! Thank you, Nick!! To our surprise, the front door was locked, but then the gentleman of Zah Heaven opens the door and said how may I help you. A great balance of fresh toppings, with flavors that complement each other, and a generous amount of smooth, creamy mozzarella! The restaurant is under new management, and the menu has been expanded. I'm looking forward to trying their great variety! The new owner is friendly and very accommodating. I like my thin crust pizza with a pie cut instead of squares. I experienced problems with the payout system and my card, which I hope he gets straightened out, but he did tell me I could order online, have the food delivered, and still pay the driver at the door (they carry card readers). That would save me the hassle of having to go pick up my orders in order to pay in the store. He said I could also order on the phone and pay that way. I look forward to visiting my friend's house up in Rockford more often so I can explore their diverse and ambitious new menu!

Besides several missing items and errors, the quality of the food was poor at best. The pasta was severely under salted, which is pasta 101.....SALT THE WATER. The garlic bread was dry and extremely bland. It tasted like four day old bread that was about to mold with just enough butter to give it color, but not much in the way of flavor. Their sauce tasted severely over-cooked. The meatballs were.....well....wimpy in flavor and texture. The chicken parmesan was rather small in size, but they give you a ton of pasta on the side to compensate, I guess, and (again) needed seasoning. I suppose I had to give them a small bump for their pasta portion size (the cheapest thing an Italian restaurant can provide, really). I will add that they were apologetic when we returned to get the items they forgot, but it's not much comfort when all the food is cold by the time you get back with the missing stuff. It tends to kill the appetite. The desserts are okay, for the most part, if you don't require super sweet stuff. Overall, it was extremely disappointing and not worth the $120 to feed four adults. And, in our smaller town with slim pickings for restaurants, we can easily (and sadly) cross this one off our list of places we will order from again.
