    Small Lokma Box
    Sujan V.

I tried the lokmas along with a classic milkshake, and both were really good the flavor was really good and the food was fresh I could have had kept eating. There's plenty of parking in the plaza, which is convenient. It was a bit of a wait there was many people coming in and out along with music playing and a good atmosphere , but the staff were friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back again for dessert!

    Storefront - Monday

My review is similar to my recent Yelp experience. I went back today to get a small box of lokmas and had a better experience! I dropped by Lokma Pastry after work on Monday. I left home when it was spitting rain. The drive was fine at around 4 pm. Lokma is conveniently located on Lawrence Avenue East, a few streets west of Warden Avenue, on the north side. It was raining hard, but I still managed to find it. I parked across from Pizza Pizza and walked in with an umbrella over me. Lokma and Bergham share the same store space. They both hail from Montreal. I have been eager to try both, so I'm pleased that they are roughly a twenty-minute drive from home. There were a couple waiting for their Bergham order. I approached the Lokma counter. I was greeted by a nice woman. I said that I was here for the Yelp experience. She had no clue what I was talking about. I repeated it again. She still had a blank expression on her face. She went into the back of the Bergham side to speak to someone. That person came out and asked if I had a takeout order. Um, no. I want one! I realize that I had arrived on the first day of this perk. It raised a concern that communication wasn't all there. It was also 4 pm, so I'm sure that other keen Yelpers had arrived earlier for said perk. Surely, it would be enough time to communicate this Yelp pickup to all staffers. Maybe my baseline expectations were too high here. Anyway, a light went off and this person found the Yelp list. I said my name. She started to look for it. I found it reading her list upside down. Some weird skills come in handy, especially this afternoon. She let me know that my lokmas would take four to seven minutes. I had thought about ordering something else, but she had dashed away. Okay, ordering a side item wasn't going to happen. I watched one of the women make a fresh batch of lokmas. Another woman came along and both blocked any cool shots that I was hoping to get. Instead, I made the best of seeing the golden little nuggets get deep fried and then rest in a separate area. My order was indeed ready closer to the seven-minute mark. Nice! I thanked the woman. I am appreciative of the free food. However, the bottom of the box had some milk and white chocolate on the base that smeared on the counter. Second, I managed to get some on my hoodie, so I ended up washing it when I got home. I am normally not the neatest eater, but it was disappointing getting chocolate on me and I hadn't taken a bite! It was now pouring rain bigtime outside. It was to the point where the winds were gusting and my umbrella couldn't handle them. I ended up with my hoodie over me and got to my car to enjoy my lokmas. They were crispy on the outside and pillowy when I sank my teeth into each one. I'm glad that I indulged while they were hot out of the fryer. I liked the sliced strawberries on top that gave you the illusion that you were having something healthy, but not really. The white and milk chocolates were subtle and not terribly sweet. I felt that something was missing, though. The strawberry slices were soft. The chocolate draped over the lokmas was smooth. Maybe the lokmas needed cookie pieces or something crunchy to complete the textural experience. I returned today. I placed an order through Uber Eats for Bergham, which offers Lokma items. I got a small lokma box (12 lokmas), with a choice of two flavours. I went with the following lokma flavours: - Nutella with Biscoff - Sea salt caramel with Biscoff Before I dropped by Giant Tiger on Lawrence, I placed my order. The estimated time for my order to be ready was thirty minutes. Perfect. After grabbing a few groceries at Giant Tiger, I took my time driving over to Lokma. I got to the parking lot and backed into a spot. It was busy at around 6 pm. I walked in and got the same woman who found my name on the Yelp list. I asked about my Uber Eats order. There was no confusion at all. Staff do a lot better with food app orders. She checked with her colleague and she said another two minutes was needed. Cool. Sure enough, I got the friendliest man with a huge smile on his face, handing me a huge bag with handles. I thanked him. We both wished each other a great evening and I walked out with my food. Like the Yelp event, I ate all my lokmas in my car. I like the small lokma box better. I love Nutella. I love Biscoff cookies. Put them over fried doughy goodness and I am in my happy place. Do not disturb. I need me time. OMG! Sparks flew. So in love with the flavour combination. The Biscoff provided the crunchy texture that I felt was missing with the Yelp perk. The sea salt caramel with the Biscoff was excellent, except that the Biscoff was omitted. The sea salt instantly hits your tastebuds. The best part? When the sea salt caramel mingled with the Nutella. Excellent! Who knew? I'd return again and place an order online. If you order at the store, chances are that you'll get confused looks from staff. First time trying Lokma and it did not disappoint. I loved their choco strawberry combo, and would highly recommend it. Their opening day was super busy, but they were well organized and I was able to receive my order promptly.

This is my second time having Lokma. These tiny bites of fried dough heaven from Lokma pastry in Scarborough The first time I've ever tried these in Greece I just couldn't get enough of them! The original loukoumades are soaked in honey and then either eaten plain or drizzled with chocolate. This is by far my favorite place to get lokmas because it's not too sweet and I love the crispiness. My go-to flavor is the Lokmas signatures (lokmas filled with pastry cream or nutella) because of the explosion in my mouth. But if it's too sweet for your liking, then go with the plain ones that's drizzled in your choice of topping it's just as amazing! These dessert bars are slowly popping up all over the GTA and if you love Mr. puffs you definitely need to give this place a try!

I ordered Istanbul donuts. They are very tasty. Texture is like Mochi. 8 pcs is the smallest size. If you buy more, better price and more selection. The place is clean and nice. The staffs are friendly. They don't have seats and tables inside. This is take out place.

Came here to try out the lokmas and they don't disappoint. I like that they are soft and crunchy at the same time. Definitely better when it's made to order :)

Nutella strawberry lokma filled with cream and I don't remember the smoothie. But all were soooo good

One word DELICIOUS This place is amazing for dessert. Line ups all the time I go or I'm driving by but definitely worth the wait. You can't get these anywhere else so I highly recommend waiting around for it.

It's a very much order and takeout place - not really anywhere to sit and eat which is fine. We got the knafeh - 2 slices. They make the knafeh in giant sheets and cut out squares per piece. The top is decently crispy and crunchy but I felt a bit too thin of a layer. The stretchy and gooey cheese underneath has a slight hint of sweetness and counters the crunchy sweet phyllo dough. We also tried the walnut baklava which had pretty good walnut flavor. The pastry was super light but had a nice sticky honey in between. The pistachio baklava had similar pastry but I felt like it wasn't very strong pistachio flavor. Overall, price is really good for what you get. Definitely a good place to get a fairly unique dessert to go.

Parking can be a bit busy but usually okay. The service both times has been patient and kind to explain the various options. We decided to go with a milk cake with half lotus and half Dubai chocolate. The cake is soaking in milk which gives it a "wet cake" texture. I imagine it may not be everyone's favorite texture but has decent flavor. The crunchy topping contrasts against the soft, moist cake. The lotus has that nice cookie flavor and crunch while the Dubai chocolate with pistachio offers that chocolate and nutty flavor. I prefer the latter but both are good. We also got a matcha strawberry latte to go. Both really nice to look at and to drink. The matcha has good flavor without being overly bitter while the strawberry provides that fruity sweetness to the drink. Overall, it's a pricier experience but I enjoyed it and will be back.

A recent Yelp elite event introduced me to Kanafani Sweets. I returned for its Dubai chocolate bars. Kanafani Sweets is located in a plaza on the northeast corner of Warden Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East. It's in the same plaza as the Potato Bar. I had no problem finding parking. I pulled into a parking spot in front of the store and walked in. The order pickup area was in front of me. I read the signs and the order area was a few steps deeper into the store. I had the nicest woman who cheerfully said hi. She was helpful with answering my question and offering suggestions. She showed me the qashtuta, which was milk cake. She let me know that I could either get a solid flavour, such as Biscoff, or do three different flavours, such as Biscoff, hazelnut, and Dubai chocolate. Wow! My Yelp experience consisted of having knafeh, which I absolutely love. She said that it could be made soft or crispy. I love crispy. She also let me know that I could get either pistachio or chocolate sauce on the side. I went with the former. For the drink, she shared what was popular. The iced tiramisu latte was one of them. I love tiramisu. I was down checking out an iced drink version. I got a buzzer for my order. The knafeh takes roughly ten minutes to make. I sat in a comfy chair near the order area. It was nice to relax after driving for over an hour to get here. I used the washroom. There's an individual stall for women. It was clean, cheerful, and pleasant. I used it again just before I left to run a few errands before heading home. I watched the buzzer light up. I headed to the pickup area. The nice woman had my order ready. She let me know that I got a brownie bite on the house. It was so generous! I thanked her and headed to my table to chow down. The iced tiramisu latte was exceptional. I got a lady finger that I could dip into my drink. The espresso was a good strength with the cocoa. It had milk. You can substitute the espresso for decaf, and the milk for a dairy-free or lactose-free substitute. I didn't bother. It was nicely iced and a good size to wash down everything that I ate. I loved the complimentary brownie bite. The brownie core was delicious. The crispy exterior provided a nice contrast. It was enjoyable to devour! I loved the knafeh. It already had syrup on it. I got syrup on the side, as well as pistachio sauce. I poured the pistachio sauce over the knafeh. So good! The knafeh had cheese inside. It was stretchy and hot. Over time, the cheese lost its stretchy factor as it cooled. It was yummy with the right balance of crispiness and chopped pistachios with the pistachio sauce. The syrup made the knafeh slightly sweet. The sweetness was perfect for my liking. The knafeh was excellent. I have been trying to find a decent place that makes Dubai chocolate bars. Before visiting this store, most places made their bars on their own, but they were too soft. It was as if I looked at the bar and it melted on its own out of fear. I bought a bar of Dubai chocolate Lotus to enjoy. I paid with a credit card and included a tip because staff are so helpful and friendly. This bar was excellent. The crispy filling had Lotus cookie spread in it. The milk chocolate held everything together. I was impressed. I will be back to get the regular bar next. It's such a gem of a Palestinian dessert place. I'll be back. (439)

The following day, I brought the Thai milk tea tiramisu to share with a friend at work. It has more mascarpone than lady fingers. It's like a decadent mousse with bonus lady fingers. We both loved how it tasted like having Thai milk tea, but in dessert form. It was light, yummy, and full of flavour. The lady fingers were perfect. Each container of tiramisu runs between $22 and $25. It's on the pricy side, but it is worth treating yourself here and there. This place is grab-and-go for both desserts and bubble tea. There aren't any seats to sit down and enjoy your treats. I'll definitely head back for more tiramisu and gelato bars. It took a while for me to finally give this place a try.
