I have been wanting to visit North York location for a long time, but recently learned that they got the new location in the east - Scarborough. I had a bit of challenge in finding this place. Their product is in Bontea (bubble tea store). Varieties of tiramisu flavours - impressed!. One container is bigger than I thought - it serves 2 people, I thought. So I had to give up a few flavours (such as earl gray, pistachio) from my original shopping list! We decided to start from the basics. #1. Original Tiramisu #2. Matcha Tiramisu We liked Matcha better - the balance between ladyfingers, the amount of flavour (that soaks the ladyfingers) and mascarpone filling was better than the original. Will come back for other flavours!

We tried Nonna Lia's classic tiramisu and hazelnut tiramisu and loved it! I like how they sell their tiramisus in different shops across the GTA, as it makes it a lot more accessible for people to try The flavor of the classic spot-on, though a bit more mascarpone would have been perfect. My personal favourite is the Hazelnut - this one is a must try. Overall, a delicious treat worth trying!

April 8, 2023 - Nonna Lia (at Bontea) I kept seeing this on my instagram and so had to try it. So after dinner with my friends I shared it with them. We all loved it. They were a bit surprised by the price. But I would definitely order this again

We got a cake for an event last minute from kanae cafe…read more Everything from ordering to pick up was pretty seamless with no issues. We got the earl grey chestnut cake. It had good earl grey flavor in the cake itself. The chestnuts on top and pureed chestnut were pretty good though could have been a bit sweeter. The cream in the cake was light and not too sweet. Overall, a good cake if you enjoy earl grey and chestnut. Price is pretty good for what you get and the fact that you can get it same day is great!

It causes the person you follow's reviews to tier to top when you pull up a business. I find this very handy when researching venues. Rod's Review grading scale explained. Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. Price/Value also play a role obviously but there are $ and $$$$ littered across my grading scale. 5 stars - "I'll go out of my way" (approx 6 % of my reviews) 4 stars- "If I was in the area I'd go here and would recommend", (approx 38% of my reviews) 3 stars "Maybe if was nearby", (approx 37% of my reviews) 2 stars -"Would likely not return, Only if you want to go", (approx 16% of my reviews) 1 star -"No thanks, even if I was hungry", (approx. 3 % of my reviews)

I searched around, this store was nice and more comments. So we decided to come here. Midland is a well known location that not hard to find. There was 1 more hours to be closed, when we walked in. But the casher was not rush me. She just let us know we could scan the QR code for the menu on the table, and come up to the counter to order, when we are ready. We were debating which one to get, Golden Mango or Matcha Mango Bingsu. The cashier said Golden Mango is giving different texture, even though it's all mango flavor; the Matcha Mango is using matcha shaved ice as base, then top with Mango fresh fruit. So we final decision was the Golden Mango Bingsu. Once we ordered, we got a electric alert board. We won't wait long, the alert board was beeping when our order was ready. I went back to the counter to get my Bingsu. This desert is not big that costs $12.55+tax. Sago has no taste. Fresh mango is on the top, mango base is mango flavored shaded ice, which is like ice cream that smooth. Mango sauce as layer is in the middle of the base, which makes stronger taste. Overall, it's pretty tasty and fresh. That's another type of ice cream for me. The store was open until late night, and I was seeing couples coming in. That reminded me long time ago when we were young. Enjoy the desert and also enjoy the late night life.

This is a hard dessert to make, so I was very impressed but the perfect execution. The Mango Sago was a bit expensive at $13.50CAD, but mangoes were really sweet and refreshing. The Sweet Sesame Rice Balls w/ Crushed Peanuts (擂沙湯圓) were sweet and chewy but not the biggest fan of peanuts, and I would have personally prefer them in a sweet ginger soup. But my friends really enjoyed them. Overall, really liked this place and would definitely come back! Highly recommend coming here to try their high quality traditional desserts.

We ordered a mango sago and the sesame glutinous rice balls w/ crushed peanuts, coconut shreds and sugar. The mango sago ... while it wasn't bad, both my gf and I agreed that it's something both our parents could've made better LOL. The mango soup didn't have much flavour and the sago at the bottom was even MORE bland. And they have the audacity to charge $13.50 (as of June 2025) for this small bowl. Not recommended at all. The tong yun w/ crushed peanuts, sugar and coconut shreds was a lil better. It was my first time trying this style of tong yun (I think I still prefer the classic, black sesame filled tong yuns over these).
