This place made me feel like I was back home! It's small but super cozy, with Filipino touches all around. The "Mano Po" wall mural was definitely my favorite. We came for brunch and ordered two silogs and the ube pancakes. Everything was tasty and totally hit the spot! Great customer service too. Definitely a cute little Filipino brunch spot in Anaheim!
Pardon the pictures -- I was so hungry I started eating before remembering I was supposed to take photos. This is already my 4th time at Lola's by MFK, so that probably says enough. We keep coming back because the food is familiar Filipino comfort food but with their own little twist. This time we had the Chicken Adobo Omelette, Crispy Chicharon, Tilapia Sisig, and Ube Horchata. The Chicken Adobo Omelette was huge and filling, with that savory adobo flavor all over it. The crispy chicharon was crunchy and dangerously easy to keep eating. The Tilapia Sisig was flavorful and a nice change from the usual pork sisig. And the Ube Horchata was really good -- creamy, sweet, refreshing, and not overly heavy. After four visits, Lola's has been pretty consistent for us. Good portions, fun Filipino dishes, and still plenty on the menu we haven't tried. I'm sure visit #5 will happen soon. Yelp me, Yelp you!
Visited from the Bay Area and was recommended this place. I loved the authenticity of the Kamayan! Food was very yummy and I love Filipino breakfast! Service was quick and easy. The Buko Pandan cold brew was also super yummy
Overall, we had a good experience at Lola MFK. It's a small and cozy place, so expect a longer wait, especially when it gets busy. The service was friendly and attentive despite the crowd. The food was okay. Everything came out fresh and the presentation was nice, but I felt some of the dishes could have had a little more flavor. Overall, it was still a pleasant dining experience.
My bf and I finally tried Lola's! It's always been around and we're always near it but never did we take the time to try it out. The hours never really worked with our schedule either being from 8:30 am to 2 pm. We started off with the Ube Sweet Cream Cold Brew ($7) and Pandan Cold Brew ($7). My bf absolutely loved the ube cold brew and said it was probably the best he's ever had. He loved it so much that he got another one to-go after we finished our meal so that was a rare occurrence lol. The ube flavor was strong even after everything was mixed together. Smooth, creamy and tasty. My pandan cold brew was also pretty good. Usually I feel like pandan is difficult to get a real robust flavor and you end up tasting more coffee than pandan. I could actually taste the vanilla/nutty notes and coconut flavor. Also very yummy after mixing it all together. Cold brew flavor did end up coming out stronger tho but I somewhat expect that. We ordered the Adobo Rice Omelet ($14.95 - Chicken-adobo garlic rice wrapped in a three egg omelet, topped with adobo gravy, fried garlic & scallions) - This was really tasty and kind of heavy for me. Sooo much rice under the omelette bed lol. I was beyond stuffed and couldn't take another bite at the end and ended up packing like 2 bites in a small box. My bf ordered the Jeepney Breakfast Burrito ($14 - Crispy golden potatoes, melted cheese, chipotle aoli, scrambled eggs. Your choice of meat, served with a side of pork chicharron and Sinigang Salsa verde) - This was soo delicious. The chicharron side was a great crunch and sinigang salsa verde with the burrito made it even better. It was over the top for our bellies already with the heavy breakfast, but I still insisted that we try a regular breakfast item like french toast. Ordered the Ube Fruity Pebble French Toast ($16.95) and it was yummy! I definitely needed more fruity pebbles but that's my preference. Staff was friendly and prompt. The place was packed and I had joined the waitlist online prior to coming. Waited less than 10 min when we actually arrived. I also loved the decorations everywhere with the foliage, light fixtures and even the ceiling fans. The Tagalog vocab on the chalkboard is also fun to read and learn. I like that there's still a modern feel to the place.
Waited about an hour to eat here for brunch, but I can understand why. The adobo fried rice omelette and the ube French toast was spectacular. The chilaquiles were alright. Would definitely return again and wait again for the fried rice omelette and french toast though!!!!
Wow the Filipino dishes packed a lot of flavor. I can never say no to GARLIC RICE with tomato with onions. It brought me the comforting childhood memories of eating at my Lola's. While I still miss the old MFK that was closer to me, I'm so happy the owners created this one!! Love the learn Tagalog chalkboard decor. My baby niece loved looking up at the hanging lamps giving Bahay Kubo vibes. Good for groups, families, babies in their high chair. The server was great informative very jolly and welcoming as it was me my family's first time there! Approved all the dishes we got except for the adobo fried rice. I was too full to try anything else!! I think these all came with comes with garlic rice and tomato/onion: -Bangus grilled, (vinegar on the side) -Tilapia SISIG (even the fish haters loved this one) -Tapsilog -Tocilog -Iloco Moco -drinks: hibiscus calamansi (for my preference I wanted my agua fresca less concentrated but that's just me so I asked for extra ice on the side), mango juice, buko juice We got lucky didn't wait too long, but I hear that the wait get so long so PLAN ahead!
The best modern Filipino food! Lola's is an absolute must-visit whenever we're in town. It's amazing to see how innovative the chef is and how creatively traditional Filipino flavors are transformed into something fresh, exciting, and unforgettable. I grew up eating many of these dishes, so I especially appreciate the care that goes into every bite. The flavors are familiar and comforting, yet the presentation and modern twists are truly spectacular. The menu changes regularly, and every visit brings something new to discover. The creativity is incredible, the food is delicious, and the staff is warm, friendly, and welcoming. If you want to experience Filipino flavors in a thoughtful and innovative way, you need to come to Lola's. Stat!
WuzupWuzup! The staff here is incredibly nice and honestly makes you feel at home. I got to experience this over the weekend and it was well worth the early drive from San Diego and loved it all. Ordered the Kamayan Brunch Platter, cold brew flight, calamansi juice and ube tres Leches french toast. Good amount of seating for family style gatherings and definitely worth the wait for anyone that is wanting to experience this. Milo and Pandan were my favorites out of the flights and the platter was an nice try for 2-4 people. I would definitely be back to try this place again as they have many items to pick from.
Friendly service and great food. Definitely a good choice to have something sweet like the ube tree leches after a savory silog. My daughter demolished the adobo fried rice omelette. The adobo breakfast bowl and the tocino breakfast bowl were solid. The bangus was really big, maybe a little crispier would have been nice but that would be hard. Definitely a must try
Great place for brunch and great Filipino food with an American Flare! We loved sharing the Kamayan breakfast which feeds 2-4 people. Comes with garlic rice, tapa, lumpia, longanisa, and eggs. I would also recommend the pancakes Kamayan as well. We chose the ube, mango, and guava pancakes. All were delicious but ube was my fave. We were all stuffed! Wash it down with some hibiscus mimosas or San Mig Cheladas and it's a good start to your day!
Wow! Where have you been Lola?!? We found the place through Yelp and what a great find! We ordered the bang-silog with an extra egg and tomato salad. So delicious-o! And of course the Ube French Toast which was also delightful. We'll have to come for the Avocado or Mango pancakes. Thankful for your great service Brandon! The ambiance reminded me of being home in the islands for sure! Salamat po Lola! :)
I really liked: Iloko Moco Ube Tres Leches French Toast I liked: Thai Tea Cold Brew This was ok: Ube Sweet Cream Cold Brew Lola's by MFK is a cute Filipino brunch spot in Anaheim with some really fun menu items. The Iloko Moco was easily one of the highlights. It comes with country fried steak, two sunny eggs, garlic rice, adobo gravy, green onions, and fried garlic. The flavor was great and everything blended together really well. I liked that the steak still had a good crunch even with the gravy, and the garlic rice was pronounced without being too overpowering. It's definitely more Filipino inspired than a traditional Hawaiian loco moco, but that's not a bad thing at all. The Ube Tres Leches French Toast was also really good. It was drenched in ube tres leches sauce and topped with fresh fruit, toasted coconut, and shaved almonds. The ube flavor was actually on point and noticeable, but the dish somehow still didn't feel too heavy. The French toast itself was soft and easy to eat. For drinks, the Thai Tea Cold Brew was solid. It had a little more Thai tea flavor than the ube drink and felt more full-bodied overall. The Ube Sweet Cream Cold Brew was fine, but it leaned much more cold brew than ube. The ube flavor was pretty light and kind of got swallowed up by the coffee once mixed together. Both drinks were okay, but I think the food stood out a lot more. The cafe itself is cute, but a little rough around the edges. It has that Anaheim feel where it's charming, but not as polished as something you might see in Irvine. The tables could have been wiped down a bit more, and there were some dents and dings on the walls. Service was fine at first and they checked on us early, but after the food came out, it was hard to get anyone's attention. We needed extra utensils and had a tough time waving someone down. Overall, I'd still come back for the Iloko Moco and Ube Tres Leches French Toast because those were both really good. #goodeats

After spending an entire day at Disneyland from 7 AM to 11 PM, we got some much-needed rest before looking for a place to eat ahead of our long drive back home. We came across Lola's by MFK on Yelp, and it ended up being exactly what we needed! As someone who grew up in the Philippines, I tend to be pretty picky when it comes to Filipino restaurants, as I often find myself disappointed with the food. My girlfriend, on the other hand, has been wanting to try Filipino breakfast for a long time, so we were both excited to give this place a shot. We started with the cold brew flight, featuring ube, Thai tea, pandan, and chocolate. Every flavor was delicious, and it was a fun way to try something a little different! My girlfriend ordered the breakfast bowl with longanisa, which she really enjoyed, while I went with the Iloko Moco. Honestly, it was probably one of the best loco mocos I've ever had. We also couldn't leave without trying the Ube French Toast, and it was SO good that we finished it in no time! Service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit, and the ambiance was just as enjoyable, with some really cool murals inside that added to the atmosphere. I'm glad we stumbled upon Lola's by MFK during our trip to Anaheim. It was a great way to end our Disneyland visit, and I'm happy we got the chance to experience it. It was the day after Disney.... We packed our stuff and while in the car my partner asks me "What do you want for breakfast?" Typically I'm a traditional American breakfast girlie, which is what he expected me to land on. upon searching I found Lola's! My partner is from the Philippines, so I had suggested we'd try it. We were extremely charmed by service, food, and vibe of the restaurant Plenty of food options worth exploring, desserts, coffees, and even some fun adult beverage fun. We stuck to breakfast and coffee Starting strong with the cold brew flight, we couldn't decide on a brew because they all sounded so good This was a great option. I ordered the Silog Breakfast bowl with longaniza and he ordered the iloko moco Both plates were yummy! We shared the Ube French toast and it went to heaven. I came here out of town to try the kamayan. It was so delicioso! Our server was patient when we waited for our friend to come by. I was surprised that it would take ten minutes for our kamayan to come out. Now, I was to stressed this is a brunch kamayan. Not the 20 people feast that people are used to eat. This kamayan came with all the meat dishes: tocino, adobo, beef stew, and longanisa with a tomato/onion salad and garlic rice. It was sooooo good. I'm happy I got to try it out and happy with the service. The kamayan is for 3-4 people. I was with two friends and we were full to the max! The setting was typical for a restaurant but had a Filipino flair. It's very spacious. The restroom is unisex and clean. read more

This restaurant has been in my Instagram feed the last 2-3 years and finally, my friend and I made it yesterday! We arrived close to 12:30 pm. Was on the wait list for about 1 hour. Worth the wait. Very interesting process to check-in. We ordered the Brew Flight, Iloko Moco and Chilaquiles Filipinas. We split the meals plus the flight and they were all delicious. Not pictured was the Calamansi Hibiscus Agua Fresca and my friend wanted it a little more tart. Great customer service and we met the owner. Maybe in the future, you can expand and be closer to No County SD. Will come back and try the other food. read more

Simply delicious! The portions are also really big! One dish can literally feed two people! Could only eat half! We tried the famous rice and pork adobo omelette! So tasty and unique! Rice and pork had great flavor! Especially with the gravy on top! The Longanisa breakfast burrito was also delicious! Very good longanisa! A little sweet and a little spicy! Loved the chipotle sauce they added in there as well! What really surprised me was the tortilla, it had a nice soft texture to it, but didn't fall apart! Also tried the pandan coffee and it was really tasty as well! read more

Craving Filipino breakfast? Lola's by MFK understood the assignment! We had to get silog meals, so we got the chicken adobo silog and bangus silog. We also paired the savory meal with their ube French toast, which was such a good sweet addition. This is their Anaheim location by Angel Stadium, and they're open until 2 PM, so I recommend going early. They also have a location in West Covina. The only downside was the long wait to get seated, but overall it was worth trying for Filipino breakfast/brunch! read more

First time was on a Saturday years ago. Wifey and I saw the line outside writing around the building and automatically got back in the car. This time (Wed morning @9am) we beat the crowd. We had a table of 12 with 3 high chairs and they were able to accommodate it easily on this day. I was expecting good food, but instead it was phenomenal. My wife and I ordered the kamayan pancake flight ($20) to share, Nutella pancakes for the kids to share($14.95), birria chilaquiles ($18) and I look moco ($16.95). It was A LOT OF FOOD. Didn't even finish the pancakes. If my kids (3,6) eat the food, then you know it's good. Service was super quick and very pleasant and helpful. I love the atmosphere with the island vibe, island music and Tagalog word of the day sign. Parking is tricky because it's shared with other restaurants and is limited. Also, like I mentioned before we called on a weekday perhaps to coming in and there wasn't much of a with for a big party. If you're expecting the same during the weekend, I'll pray for you; unless you're one of those people willing to wait long period. Highly recommend Lola's by MFK for your next breakfast, lunch. read more

Lola's by MFK is honestly one of the best Filipino restaurants I've ever been to. The inside is beautiful and has so many thoughtful touches that remind you of the Philippines, which makes the experience feel even more special. The staff were also very welcoming. The Adobo Omelette is sooo good and always a must for me, and the chicharron was so delicious that I had to order another one to-go before leaving. Everything we've tried there has been flavorful and comforting. This has become one of our go-to spots whenever we visit California, and it's always worth the stop! read more

I've been here multiple times, but unfortunately, I feel like the quality has gone downhill since my last few visits. Their ube French toast and mango juice are both really good, so I was disappointed with my most recent experience. I ordered the longganisa bowl, and afterward I became very sick with what seemed like food poisoning. I'm not sure if the longganisa was undercooked or if something else caused it, but the experience was enough that I won't be returning. The rice was also a bit hard and didn't seem properly cooked. The wait times are also a bit insane especially on the weekends. Overall, while I've enjoyed some of their dishes in the past, I probably wouldn't recommend this place based on my most recent experience. read more

Lola's by MFK has become one of my favorite Filipino brunch spots. I've been here at least three times now and somehow they have never disappointed me. Such a good and creative take on Filipino brunch. We've tried the birria chilaquiles, lumpia, adobo rice omelet, bangsilog, and a few other dishes throughout my visits. We also got the ube and calamansi drinks, which were both really good. The birria chilaquiles are packed with flavor, although I will say they LOAD them with sauce. That's really just personal preference though. The food has been consistently good every time I've come. Even the dishes I wouldn't normally think to order end up being good. It does get busy pretty quickly after they open, but it's worth the wait. I also really like the atmosphere here. Good music, nice ambiance, and the servers have always been friendly. Three visits in and they still haven't missed. I'll definitely keep coming back to try more of the menu. 9/10 read more

Service here has always been good to us and always love the ambiance here. They show case some Tagalog words and pictures from the Philippines. The food has never been a miss for us. They've added some new pancakes, which I'm slowly trying, and other new items. This time I got the Bang Silog, it's a fried milk fish with garlic rice, one egg, and a tomato and onion salad. My fiance got the her Ube pancakes, which are always fluffy. My cousin got the fish sisag and the Kamayan meal. We also got the Ube horchata and pandan cold brew. I recommend this Filipino brunch place. Perfect place to meet up and have brunch before going to Disneyland. read more

Do not sleep on this place. 1000/10 would definitely come again When I stepped inside, it felt like there was a Filipino party that had already started- so I was right on time. The music gave that sense of Filipino pride featuring various Filipino artists, like Bruno Mars, and even songs that we would typically sing karaoke to. The servers were super friendly and very eager to help with anything. The Adobo Omelet was very hearty and good to eat half and save the other half for home. The Milo Cold Brew was childhood with coffee that brought me back to my time in the Philippines when I would drink Milo on a daily basis. The Ube Tres Leches French Toast was the star of the table. Love the bangus sisig and chicken adobo, but their lines kill me. Thank goodness for virtual wait lists because I do not have the youth for queueing in the morning anymore!! The service is top notch and dishes are cooked with so much love. You can tell every dish was blessed by someone's grandma before being brought to your table, hahaha. My best friend took me here after she reassured me multiple times I would love it lol. And turns out... I did end up loving it! I ordered the 2 egg w/ tocino. I was actually confused at first because the tocino wasn't the typical red color I was used to so I was kinda thrown off. But it ended up tasting delicious regardless! Me and my friend ended up also sharing the lumpia and it really did remind me a lot of the lumpia my lola made when I was growing up. The service was good, and there was ample room for us to get seated on a late Thursday morning! The murals on the wall were also super adorable. The experience was overall wonderful. Went here for breakfast before a long day at Disneyland and it was pretty good! We've been thinking about trying this place for a while now. The staff were very kind and welcoming. It's a pretty busy spot, but we were early and didn't have to wait too long. We got the breakfast burrito and the Filipino chilaquiles, which used a sinigang base. The breakfast burrito was delicious and the chicharon it came with was EXTRA crispy. I praise the Filipino twist on chilaquiles, and I absolutely love sinigang, but it wasn't my favorite thing. It was good, but I'm not used to a more sour taste for chilaquiles. The inside feels cozy and theres a lot of Filipino inspired decor that I really enjoyed! read more

I got a chance to try Lola's again and ordered different items. It's safe to say that it's worth thr hype/wait! I got the ube french toast this time and the pandan coffee. They were both so delish and not too sweet. I also tried their lumpia, which was good, but nothing too special about it. Food came out super quick and service was amazing. MUST TRY!!! Had a great visit at Lola's by MFK! From the moment we walked in, the space felt vibrant and welcoming, with a modern twist on Filipino comfort food that made the whole experience feel fun and memorable. We ordered the ahi tuna sisig and the adobo fried rice omelet, and both dishes absolutely stood out. The ahi tuna sisig was UNIQUE, fresh and flavorful--perfectly seasoned with that signature tangy, savory kick, while still letting the quality of the fish shine. It had a great balance of brightness and richness that kept every bite interesting. The adobo fried rice omelet was just as impressive. The rice was packed with that classic garlicky, slightly tangy adobo flavor, and wrapping it in a soft, fluffy omelet took it to another level. It was hearty, comforting, and incredibly satisfying without feeling too heavy. For drinks, we tried the ube cold brew and the buko pandan cold brew, and both were unique in the best way. The ube cold brew had this smooth, slightly sweet and nutty flavor that paired surprisingly well with the coffee, while the buko pandan version was refreshing and subtly tropical, making it a perfect complement to the meal. You can really tell they put creativity and care into everything they serve, and it shows. Lola's is a Filipino fusion brunch spot, and WOW, it did not disappoint. I ordered the bangus sisig, which is finely chopped milk fish marinated in a zesty blend of citrus with stir-fried onions, bell peppers, and egg. This was my first time having bangus sisig so I didn't have anything to compare it to, but it was honestly very different from anything I've had before and was soooo delicious!! I highly recommend ordering it if you're a fan of savory brunch. We also ordered ube French toast for the table to share and was impressed by that as well! I came on a Sunday with a group of 4 and there was a slight wait for a table. The interior was casual and had island vibes. Service was friendly as well! Overall, I really enjoyed this spot and would recommend it. read more
