I had brunch here earlier today and I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. First, my friend and I walked in and stood up at the front for about a minute and nobody acknowledged us despite multiple employees seeing us walk in. We ended up sitting ourselves down and about 15 minutes passed and still no acknowledgment. Nobody came to take our order until my friend politely informed the staff. One of the waitresses finally took our order and I asked her how many shots of espresso were in an iced latte. She was a younger employee and she gave me an extremely passive aggressive/dirty look when I asked her that and said rudely "We only serve cold brew." My bad for assuming a coffee place that advertised that they sold iced lattes sold iced lattes! Perhaps maybe the restaurant should clarify that in their menus that they don't sell iced coffee lattes but that their coffee based drinks are actually cold brew! The COOKIE BUTTER was rich and dessert leaning, but still balanced enough to finish without feeling heavy. The CHILAQUILES were pretty good. Definitely would've been better if someone I know added meat. :P The UBE WAFFLE was also good. The ube flavor could've been richer, and a bit more crisp on the outside would've helped. This popped up in my search for a decent brunch in the area, and for the most part I was not disappointed. Located in a charmless shopping center, the small space is decorated to give a breezy cafe vibe without looking too much like an instagram photo op (no neon signs, thank goodness). Expect to wait during peak times since there aren't many tables, and I'm assuming they have a small kitchen because the food is very slow to come out. We had: bulgogi benedict, socal benedict, the breakfast sandwich, crème brûlée french toast, the basic scrambled eggs with toast (added 2 slices of bacon for $4) and coffee. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the plating was a nice touch as well. I was fine with the longer wait, but we were served the food before utensils and then our server went to help other tables - by the time we had utensils and napkins, our eggs were cold. I don't know if this is intentional to encourage customers to take a pic of the nicely decorated plate while they're waiting to eat it, but I'll admit it worked on me (gotta love an edible flower!). My other nitpick was that the berries for the french toast were smushed into a lump of butter, which was clearly a plating design choice but not an ideal flavor combo. Also they only have Smuckers syrup, which is not something I'd expect to see outside of a Denny's. this cafe was an option that had come up in many past conversations planning for brunch ideas. so finally, i came here for brunch with a friend and came in without any expectations. i'd only ever looked at the menu before coming and did not look through any reviews to keep an open mind. first off, the location/cafe is a little underwhelming. it was a bit smaller than i expected, only having about ~10 tables from what i remember, and it seemed a little rundown. i wasn't going to let this impact my opinion however, because the food everyone had seemed pretty delicious. because every table was full when we got there, we were told it would be a 25 minute wait which was fairly accurate. the server was very kind in providing suggestions for the drinks when i was indecisive on which latte to get. the drinks i ordered were delicious. the tiramisu latte had a strong coffee flavor that was not overpowered by the sweetness of the cream, and the tea was very refreshing. i had also ordered the smoked salmon benedict, without red onions (not pictured because i was too excited to eat by the time it came out). despite having far too much side arugula, the dish was delicious. i was concerned about "beet hummus" but it surprised me in being a nice pairing with the food. my friend had ordered the biscoff pancakes, which initially looked delicious. you could definitely smell the sugar levels wafting off it, but it seemed mouthwatering. however, she quickly found that the edges and bottom of her pancakes had each been burnt and was rather inedible. the server was kind enough to remove it from the bill when we let her know, but it was still disappointing given the wait we had for the seating and food itself. overall, it was a pretty decent experience, given the kindness of the workers and the quality of the drinks at least, but i think i would be fine with this being my only visit. read more

Once I was sat it took a bit for someone to get our order, but once our orders were in, everything came pretty fast. The Bulgogi Benedict was actually pretty good! The flavors were there. The ube waffles were okay but nothing that stand out for me. The drinks were the biggest disappointment for me. I'm lactose intolerant and so the only latte without a cold foam was the cookie butter latte. The coffee flavor wasn't really there and the latte wasn't that great in my opinion and the drink itself was pretty sweet. All the other hot coffee drinks had a cold foam so that was immediately out for me. My friend got the tiramisu latte and felt the same about the flavors and the coffee so that felt pretty consistent. I wish they had coffee that packed a punch! Hoping they add that in the future. The place is a lot smaller in person so that's why it probably gets packed fast. Waited about half an hour on a Saturday morning. It's a pretty small restaurant and very popular so I would be prepared to get up early or wait. I got a bulgogi benedict and an ube latte. My friend got the mushroom omelette and the biscoff cookie latte. Everything was really delicious and looked so pretty. Service was very friendly and attentive. We came on a Saturday around 10AM and there was a waitlist. We waited around 20-30 minutes. The cafe is pretty small and cute. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful! We ordered the Tiramisu French Toast and Nutella Oreo Waffles. Both were so delicious and filling. My favorite was the Tiramisu French Toast! If Yelp had the option to give half stars, this place is 3.5 stars in my opinion. We ordered a few items to try as our first time here and I started off with a cookie butter latte. Drink came out with a piece of Biscoff on top and it was alright, 3/5 stars. Our friend decided to try Korean cereal milk latte and that one was really good, 4/5 stars. I would definitely order that next time. For food, we ordered ube waffle and spicy pork quesadilla to share and the mango habanero burger for myself. The spicy pork quesadilla was good as the flavors of the bulgogi, kimchi, and cheddar mixed well. My only gripe is that the chipotle sauce drizzled on top was heavy and it became a bit overwhelming as the bites piled up. I much rather have the sauce on the side to dip. The ube waffle was excellent and the highlight of our meal. The presentation was perfect, ube waffle had ube flavor and wasn't sweet at all, and the fruits and whipped cream was a perfect compliment. This is a dish that I highly recommend and would order again. Lastly, the mango habanero burger was disappointing to me. The burger patty was definitely hand made in house, love the pepperiness of the arugula, the saltiness of the bacon, but the salsa was extremely lacking. When I see mango habanero, I expect it to be spicy, but when I took a bite of the burger, I didn't taste any heat. Rather, I tasted a lot of sweetness in the ingredients put to make the salsa. I took another bite hoping maybe I'll get a slight tingle of heat in my mouth, but that didn't happen. The crispy potatoes served as a side to the burger was excellent as well. It was good bite size pieces and fried to perfection. Service was alright, read on a handful of Yelp reviews that this place gets busy, but luckily we were able to get a table right away when we showed up around 11am on a Sunday. Amazing place to get breakfast and the prices blew me away. The food and drinks were all handcrafted and you could feel the love and care that went into making them. We went on a weekday morning, so it wasn't super packed, but when we were leaving, I noticed there were people waiting outside for a table. But for good reason! I would say it's definitely worth the wait. There were two people working and taking care of all of the tables and counter, but they did an amazing job holding down the fort and making sure everyone got what they needed.
