I bought two of the best-sellers, Egg roll in a bowl and Buffalo chicken. They are fresh, not frozen, keep for about a week, and the macros and calorie counts are on the label. All ingredients are listed and they are all found in your kitchen. I thought these meals were great. The ERIAB was tasty, a larger portion than I expected for under 500 cals and very satisfying. The Buffalo chicken was also delicious, not too spicy, had cauliflower mash instead of potatoes and also under 500 cals. If you scan the QR code you can see the next week's menu. I'd pick up a meal or two to supplement for the week. I tried a juice as well and it was still frozen the next day. It tasted good, although I'm not a juice drinker. This is a welcoming and friendly place and they patiently answered all of my questions. The have smoothies and açaí bowls as well as a waffle bowl (gluten free) that I'd like to try.

I felt so lucky that Tropical Smoothie Café is so close to home! It is located in the strip mall called Plaza del Prado, where Jewel-Osco has been there for decades. I passed by the mall so often, but had not noticed Tropical Smoothie just a few stores from Jewel-Osco! I did not have their app; I just walked in to order a Mango Monsoon smoothie. The guy behind the counter was friendly and efficient. He worked on the smoothie right away. I was able to leave the store with my smoothie within 5 minutes! There was only another customer at the time when I left. The Mango Monsoon was refreshing and not too sweet. I couldn't believe that I finished all 22-24 oz. in no time! It was delicious! Their smoothies and shakes taste great and are blended well, and the bowls that I've gotten have been fresh and filling. This time I went with a Mango Cure smoothie and a MexiCali bowl. The smoothie has ginger, immunity booster, and is topped with cayenne, but all I really tasted was the ginger as a brief aftertaste. My wife tried it and said it "tastes healthy," so it might not be a go-to drink for some but it does help if you're feeling a little under the weather or just need a pick-me-up! The MexiCali bowl was delicious but had more of a kick to it than I was expecting from the spicy tomatillo sauce, so I'll probably ask to withhold that if I get it again. The space itself is very open and clean with plenty of seating, and the employees have always been very welcoming and friendly! We didn't have to wait too long for our food either since we came in just before the lunch rush, but they were putting together a good number of to-go orders too so waiting shouldn't be an issue (at least it hasn't been for us).
