First impression of this cute açaí/smoothie place was everything seemed genuinely healthy and quality ingredients were used. We ordered the Love-a-bowl, and it was delicious. It was a smoothie bowl, which wasn't as THICK as an açaí bowl, but it was still very good. The mixture of toppings and mix ins was very good - not too sweet, and the granola added a bit of texture. When in need for a healthy treat, we are sure to find it among works of art at Bright Bowls. Located in downtown Highland Park, just by sunset foods. Tucked in a small strip if you're not looking for it. There is plenty of complimentary parking. When you walk in, you're greeted with bright lights, and colorful art. We came by on a Saturday and there was a birthday party/dance party going on in their studio. So it was busier than usual, but it didn't affect the quickness of us receiving our order. We walked in and looked at the menu and around for a little bit before we decided on the Pitaya The Tiger bowl. Which has a Pitaya base with blueberries, banana, pineapple and mango, topped with banana, blueberries and bright granola sprinkled with bee pollen. The swirl was blue spirulina and coconut yogurt. When we received our bowl, it was almost too pretty to eat. It was like artwork! The base was super smooth, with the fruit and granola each bite was delicious, not too sweet, not too bitter. My friend is on a health kick so she wanted to check out Bright Bowls for a meal. At first I was hesitant because the menu seemed to be mostly acai/yogurt/smoothie bowls and I was craving something more "substantial" and savory. I was delighted to find out that they also have savory options like homemade soup and avocado toast. My friend really enjoyed her bowl and I loved how colorful it was. I ordered the butternut squash soup and found it delicious. I also had the avocado toast and it was yummy. The portions weren't really big and the toast wasn't the chewiest but the combo was delicious and I'd definitely come back to try their gorgeous smoothie bowls. The ambiance is super cute and it's right next to a dance studio for kids. I loved the bright colors and the fact they sell bright and fun little items. I think this place is pretty kid-friendly and they even offer coloring and high chairs. Here is a healthy place at breakfast. It has a lot of vegan and vegetarian friendly items. Bright Bowls is also fast. Many of these puréed bowls kinds of places can take quite awhile making an order, but the stuff comes out within a few minutes. The prices are kind of high, which is the only bad thing. A good place especially at breakfast. It's easy finding these bowls and smoothies places but not as easy to find one this good. They also happen to use lots of vegetables. Blending these into the fruit helps hide the flavors. It's about $14 for a bowl, which is quite a lot. Of course, this isn't unusually for a fancy place like Highland Park. Best is the Blue-Tiful Bowl. This is made with puréed bananas, blue spirulina, cauliflower, pineapples, spinach, and vegan vanilla protein. Can't even taste the cauliflower and spinach hardly. This is swirled with blue spirulina and coconut yogurt. Pretty cool looking. Then it's topped with blueberries, goji berries, granola, and strawberries. For sure it's worth a price to get it. This does give you a lot of nutrition for as much as it costs at least. Good and healthy. It also has a lot of items for lunch. These include a pretty good menu of salads and sandwiches. read more

Almost too pretty to eat, but I still managed to eat every drop because it was so delicious. My biggest complaint may be that this is a 12 min drive from my house because I want one around the corner from me. For those lucky enough to live around the corner or are willing to worth the drive you can place your order online and pick it up (don't forget your mask!). I went for a pretty late lunch (after 1pm) so mine was ready within minutes. My original plan was to take it home, but I was starving and there wasn't anyone sitting outside and so I ate there. The Golden coast was as good as all the yelpers claim. But they all look so good so I may try something else next time. I thought I would still be hungry after eating it since it wasn't very big, but it was surprisingly filling.
