Horrible experience staff had zero customer service very awkward. The food was sloppy and thrown together. Will never go there again

I am confused what Currito is trying to be. Is it greens, grains and smoothies as the sign says, or does it aim to be a healthier version of Chipotle (Cure + burrito = Currito)? You can order from the menu's bowls, wraps or salad or "walk the line" and build a dish from the ingredients set up a la Chipotle. I ordered the first thing -- Superfood because it sounded healthy but I didn't know what was in it (my bad). The calorie counts, carb counts are not listed anywhere and not on the website. It was ok, probably more protein than I needed. Personally I could have done without the raisins (I looked it up - raisins have many benefits) so the salad was ok. My companion really enjoyed their Carolina grains bowl. We also ordered chips and hummus. I think because I am confused by Currito it won't be top of mind for me when I am selecting a place to eat. Do I want a healthy bowl, do I want a salad, do I want a wrap--will I be thinking of Currito? There were a few people stopping in to pick up and we were the only people dining in. My family and I love this place!!! Lived in Elmhurst for several years and ate here once a week at least when they opened up! Now, living in a new town with a busy family, this is still a favorite place for a quick healthy meal! The staff is also very friendly which makes it all the more enjoyable. Management seemed completely uninterested in engaging with customers. There were only a couple protein and grain options available, which was a bit disappointing. More than anything, I would have preferred to see a manager coaching a new employee rather than hitting the table--especially in plain view of everyone. An interesting fast casual restaurant. Does somebody want and Asian bowl, but somebody wants Mediterranean and somebody else wants Mexican? This is the place. They have quite a few options and the ones we tried were all pretty good. Our only complaints was how many of the sauces contained dairy which is an issue for lactose intolerant. The option to have you bowl over rice, farro, cabbage, romaine and others lets you choose something healthier or not. Flavors were bold and appetizing. They make your bowl or wrap quickly and exactly what you want in it. They greeted us as we came in the door and were immediately ready to explain the menu and answer questions. The decor is nothing to write home about, but perfectly serviceable. Would definitely stop in again for a lunch or light dinner. read more

I am a huge fan of Currito's grain bowls. I have few favorites from the menu already. The Carolina and Harvest are my favorite bowls right now because they are both very light great summer eats. If you want something with more flavor I recommend the Bangkok it's made with asian cabbage, cilantro lime rice, cucumber, shredded carrots, slivered almonds, thai-style peanut sauce, spicy cashew vinaigrette, and sesame seeds. No matter what you get it will be delicious! The restaurant is great, very clean, everyone working is super helpful and there's lots of easy parking. read more

I've really been trying to like this place. The restaurant is clean and new and the food in the open kitchen is amazingly colorful and fresh. It's very much like a Chipotle with the industrial-style furniture and atmosphere. But unlike many other modern fast-casual restaurants, here they actually clean the floor, tables and condiments and DON'T let the proteins dry out to little cardboard microcubes of chicken or whatever. Twice now I have been here with my family and we've gotten wraps, bowls and chips with salsa or guacamole. What we've found is the food is either too spicy (beware the salsa and the Bangkok wrap) or not quite flavorful enough (Carolina wrap). In the case of spiciness, the heat just overpowers the flavor. In the case of lack of flavor, I think the amount of rice in the wraps just dwarfs the small amount of protein and absorbs all the sauce. The prices are competitive with other places in this category but not a bargain. And the portion sizes are reasonable if you are okay with lots of shredded vegetables and rice and not a lot of protein. I suppose that an educated guest could look over the counter and ask them for more steak or chicken and less rice, but I don't know if that would cost more. Finally, the young men and women that work here have been very nice and patient in helping us order. For their sake I hope this place is successful. But with so many good alternatives is the area, I find it hard to go back for a third try anytime soon. read more

Awesome healthy fast food spot up in Glenview. It reminds of Chipotle with a Mediterranean twist. Similar set up with wrap, bowl, and salad options. I decided to go with the Monterey Salad with Steak and it was really good. All their ingredients are super fresh. You can fully customize your meal or build one from the set option choices with your choice of protein. Service was good and fast. Not too crowded during the week. Plenty of parking here. Currito is a new (for our local area) healthy fast-service restaurant with many choices to customize your meal. The portions are VERY generous for the price - 1 entree turns into 2 meals for myself. Grain entrees can be in a bowl or a wrap. There are also several salads to choose from, as well as smoothies. The location is off of Willow Rd. in a large shopping plaza. The store-front faces Willow, and it's between Dengeo's and Panda Express, with the anchor stores behind it being Target and ALDI/Kohl's). My family absolutely loves this healthier option for quick meals - so much so that we've ordered from here at least 2x every week since they've been open. Dine-in, takeout and pre-ordering through their easy to navigate app are all available. The bowls are compostable, which I appreciate. Meals are customizable. If you order inside the restaurant, it's a similar counter-ordering process as Chipotle, or you can order through the app which is what I prefer. Optional protein choices to add to your meal are: chicken $2.50, steak $3, tofu $2.25, 1/2 chicken 1/2 steak $2.75. So far, my favorites are: SPICY THAI SALAD (greens, Asian cabbage, carrots, rice noodles, slivered almonds, sesame seeds, edamame, scallions, spicy cashew vinaigrette). $8.50. I usually add chicken to this salad (+3). BANGKOK GRAIN BOWL (Thai peanut sauce, cilantro lime rice, cucumber, carrots, almonds, Asian cabbage, spicy cashew vinaigrette, sesame seeds) $7.80. OMG so delicious, nourishing and packed full of flavor! I was pleasantly surprised with the salsa and the guac. The salsa is full of flavor with fire-roasted tomatoes, and the guac is perfectly chunky. I sometimes choose the option to MAKE IT A MEAL. The price for this option depends on the additional item you choose. ALL of these options INCLUDE a fountain drink or iced tea. Chips & Hummus $4, Chips & Salsa $3.50, Chips & Guac $4.80. Or if you don't want a drink, you can choose any of the one add-ons for a lesser price. I find the decor very pleasing with simple lines and many wood accents. I do need to find out if there is a way to customize the smoothies. I'm trying to cut as much added sugar out of my daily diet, so I'd prefer to have the option of not adding those. My classic wrap was literally just tortilla and rice. You would need to deliberately create the wrap with just rice while knowing you are getting the order wrong. I even opened it up to NO steak, no toppings....just rice. Called for a refund, they took down my number, no apology, then just hung up. The rice was also over cooked and not very good. Go to the new sweetgreen location instead next to the Whole Foods. read more

We stopped by to try a couple bowls and while they were ok, there wasn't really anything new or unique in terms of flavor or ingredients. It's very similar concept to Chipotle or Naf Naf grill, but the only difference being you have more choices in terms of looking for Asian, Mediterranean or South West flavors. The options are pricey and there wasn't any real "wow" factor that makes us want to come back again really soon. Found their POS had similar issues since they over-charged me for alterations to the two bowls I ordered. Make sure you review your receipt before paying, if possible. I stopped in for lunch the other day. I found Currito to be an interesting mix of either uber healthy food or very unhealthy. For lunch I included options from both sides of the spectrum. On the healthy side I chose a bowl that included farro, arugula, sweet potatoes, almonds, golden raisins and topped with a vinaigrette. On the unhealthy side I had a Nutella shake. Both items were very good! The staff seemed to be overwhelmed and at a couple of points there was some confusion about orders including mine. This place is a really cool place to visit! Their rice bowls fill you up satisfyingly and everything tastes fresh and healthy. You can order a rice bowl that comes with preselected ingredients depending on the flavor you choose, or you can make your own bowl. I haven't created my own bowl yet as the recommended ones they have on their menu are already delicious (their Bangkok and Buffalo bowls are yummy!). This business is new in the area and I think people should try this place out! The employees are nice and the interior is very clean and new. I Wish I would have checked this place out earlier. I think anytime I see smoothies on the front of a restaurant I get a little nervous about the meat being good. I was pleasantly surprised by their meat and selection of toppings. The meat was fresh and hot. Prices are in line with chipotle. Maybe slightly more expensive but you get way more vegetable toppings here than chipotle. I'll def be back. read more

As I have been trying to eat healthier, this place popped up as a place with low calorie options. Once we got there, it seemed okay. I asked for a slight alteration to one of their signature bowls and it wasn't a problem. They even delivered the bowls to our table. However, for the price we paid, the bowls were small, the food was cold, 16oz was the only cup size, and I left feeling unsatisfied and disappointed. What a fantastic new fast food option! Today was our third trip to Currito and it's been consistently great. We've had the smoothies, the bowls, and quesadillas. Everything has been fresh and delicious. My favorite is the tikka bowl! They do a really good job with the tofu. My kids have enjoyed the kids' meals--they ask to go back. It's so nice to have a delicious, healthy, and cheap place to grab a quick bite. read more
