Went to Bridie Manor on 6/12/2025 with my senior group. There was no one in the group that had a good meal. I had the fried fish. It was so hard and dry that it was inedible. The vegetables in the salad were sliced so thin you could literally see through them. The service was awful. One person at our table asked 3 times for her meal. She finally asked if there was anything she could have. The rest of us at the table were finished with our meal by then. read more

We held a retirement party in the Florida room on August 23rd we were beyond disappointed by everything. We arrived to decorate for the party the room was filthy, no air was turned on it was steaming hot we asked for the air to be turned on and they did, when we arrived back for the party it was still so hot. It was raining out when we arrived for the party and the ceiling was leaking in two spots when I said something I was told hopefully it will stop raining the carpet was soaked and the room smelled musty. The food was set up on the dance floor and served late and very slow to be moved after dinner so no dancing could happen for the first two hours of the party. The food was only what I can imagine was prison quality food it was slop by my standards. Seafood newburg was served and was not labeled one of my guest was allergic to seafood and ate it. They had plastic plates instead of china and they were lunch sized plates. Our meal included coffee and tea and it was never served or set up anywhere. We told them we had 90 rsvp's but wanted the room set for 98, we had about 85 people we were charged for 98. There was a 24 percent service charge added to our bill then he said are you leaving the girls a tip? Of course we did but what was the 24 percent? While we were all dancing all of our man in the moon chocolate favors and the bowls of chocolate kisses were taken from our tables when they were picking up. I was honestly so embarrassed by the whole experience I will promise I will never step foot in the place again. The bathrooms were scary disgusting and the men's room was tore apart . Went here for my daughters birthday. I don't even know where to start. Musty smell, terrible service, crayons used to color in where the wallpaper had torn. On the way back from the bathroom my wife spotted a dead mouse in the middle of the dining room. When my youngest daughter pulled her chair out to sit down one of the legs fell off. What we did eat was bland greasy and most likely microwaved. Don't waste your time, money or health going here. It's like a before of either Hell's Kitchen or Restaurant Impossible. read more

OMG!!! I am a STICKLER for properly prepared clam strips, and Bridie Manor cooked them to ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!! We went in for lunch on a quiet Sunday and had the pleasure of good food and conversation with the owner Larry, while we dined! HOW did I not know how good the food is?!? My husband had the Bridie Swiss Mushroom Burger with bacon and said it was FANTASTIC! We will definitely be visiting Bridie Manor again soon! Oh, and AWESOME FRIES!!!! read more

I would give negative stars if I could. We had our formal here the other day and it was horrible. They knew months ahead of time that we were coming but the bar service was terrible. There were only two bartenders which honestly would not have bothered me but they were both so rude. We had to reuse our cups because they ran out. How does a restaurant run out of cups??? The tablecloths were also dirty, not just stains, but actual food on there. We each paid $27 in addition to the $6 deposit money we paid prior for horrible service, a gross and musty venue, and below average pizza. DO NOT GO HERE! SAVE YOUR MONEY! read more

Bridie Manor is in a nice location. The Florida Room overlooks the Oswego Canal with a great view. On the flip side, during winter months the Florida room (with all its windows) is pretty cold, and not well lit. It isn't the most ideal section to dine in during the winter months. There is a whole separate dining area (complete with a water wheel) to go to which is warmer, besides the bar. There is a variety of items to choose from on the menu. The food is decent for the price, but nothing has ever particularly wowed me. Honestly, I would probably go somewhere else first if given the choice. There are so many dining options in Oswego, this one doesn't really rise to the top of the list. read more

What do you say about a beautiful setting for a restaurant but once in and your order arrives noting but disappointment. The salad with my meal was ice berg lettuce, that is crap by today's standards and not even the heart of the Ice Berg and a onion not even purple to give the salad a bit of eye appeal. Hey it is only salad. Now the gulf shrimp scampi was crap and the scampi was missing more of a butter sauce. As is most places up state the locals in this case were our mature men enjoying their P.B.R.'S they do project a you are in our bar demeanor which with the present level of food being served leads me to think that new blood is needed to be brought in or this beautiful place might as well go back to making flour. My server was polite and I felt bad she had to serve such a poor quality of a simple dish such as Scrimp Scampi. read more

The service was wonderful. They had an outdoor table all set up for us when we arrived (although only 2 tables are outside. Other tables are inside but with lots of windows for a nice view). The scallops scampi was very good. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and will be back. read more

This restaurant is located along the Oswego River with a great view. The food is excellent and the service is very good. When it's busy, it can take a while for the food to be served, but it's all prepared fresh. I've never been impressed with restaurants that serves fast because you know all you're getting is heated up food that's sat for a while. I find it hard to believe that anyone would order a hot turkey sandwich and expect it to be served without gravy. Duh. The menu has the ingredients listed below the name of the entree. It's a matter of reading. Or ask the waiter or waitress if you aren't sure what "sliced turkey covered with homemade gravy" means. Why not send it back if it's' not what you expected? They are very good about that. The turkey melt is a completely different menu item. The nice thing about Bridie Manor is that because the food is not prepared in advance, you can ask to eliminate any ingredient that you might not want- such as gravy. I recommend the chicken riggies and the tuna salad sandwich is very good. The desserts are to die for!! I'm not impressed with the soda as it usually tastes flat but the food is worth tolerating the bad soda. Oh, there are no holes in the floor. read more

This is one of those restaurants where the view is so great that you can overlook some things that might loom much larger in another setting. All glass walls overlooking the full sweep of the Oswego River below you, the canals and locks with sea going ships travelling through and the fishermen lined up along cement walls with all the activities associated with that. The parking is free and easy, just steps from the door. OK, the food is a guessing game; sometimes good and sometimes not so good. The view makes it worthwhile to take your chances. read more

I remember going to Bridie Manor as a kid with my grandparents, 20 years ago... I returned recently to take a family member out to a very late lunch/early dinner. We went around 4pm and it was very quiet. Waitress seated us fairy quick. My 3 yr old saw the watermill I love as a kid and asked if we could sit near the watermill. No problem. Used the restroom while we waited for our food. Stalls were barely large enough for me to take my 3yr old son to the bathroom. The "doors" for the stall look like oversized shutters, and BOTH stalls had NO working locks on the doors....imagine trying to use the bathroom with your child, in a stall that has doors that do not lock. Try it, it's an experience in itself.. Food came. Nothing fancy, nothing to brag about. Mentioned the broken locks on the stall doors in the bathroom, and the waitress said something along the lines of "yeah, we know"... um.. ok If you or someone you plan on taking to dinner has a walker, or wheelchair, forget using the one bathroom. No handicapped stall to be had, unless you use the bathroom by the bar-if it's available. Also, cell phone reception(for those of you that this matters to) is almost next to none in side the restaurant. read more

We decided to swing by Bridie and see what the locals were raving about and we stood there for 10 MINUTES before we were even seated..a Man named Larry told us to be patient as they were busy. We were seated in the dining room and there were TWO OTHER COUPLES there..THAT'S IT. Well, as we ordered our food, a waitress came up to ours spouting some B.S. regarding another person Employed there leading to our waitress screwing up our order. The "Wheel Room" is something to see as is the view of the river but other than that, it's not worth it. read more

I have been coming to this place for years since I come up salmon fishing and need a place to unwind after being on the water all day. This place has gone downhill. Food was cold or not right, along with a long host of problems I'd rather not get into. Their cook was off for the night so they had someone fill in. Obviously they didn't know what the hell they were doing. Huge disappointment for my family. Shame on the manager for allowing this debacle to happen and not apologize to us or make things right. This was once a golden gem establishment. It isn't now. Very sad to see a historical, iconic place get run into the ground. Mr. Owner/Manager: if you are reading this, take heed to the reviews of your customers and turn this place around. Otherwise get out of the restaurant business. Don't embarrass Oswego. read more

This restaurant has a beautiful view but the food is inconsistent. I have had good meals there but I have had several bad experiences with the service. I have attended some weddings and showers there and those events were nice. It really is ashame because the bad service overshadowed the potentially good food and river view. read more

I had some friends come in for Harborfest weekend (5 of us total). Since it was Sunday, all the usual places we frequent, were closed. We decided on Bridie Manor. It was quiet when we entered (only one other table being occupied). We were seated and instantly thought that the view over the river was lovely. We were quickly served water and then our orders were taken. While we sat waiting for our meals we had a good amount of time to notice our surroundings. We noticed that the carpet floor was in poor shape (it seems that the carpet was starting to peel away from the subflooring and it had many spill marks). Though the view was nice, the windows were all dirty. Overall, the place looked quite outdated and rundown. I didn't put too much thought into this because I have been to "hole-in-the-wall" places and was astounded by the food. In the end. I believe it took 1 hour for us to be served our food (15 minutes before that we were served bread and butter). I don't think I have ever waited that long for food before. I think it would have at least been bearable if they had served us the bread and butter early on. I am providing the meals and corresponding issues: 1. Chicken parm- all of us tried the sauce and were connived that it tasted like like Chef-boyaredee sauce. It lacked any seasoning while tasting acidic. The chicken itself was edible but nothing to rave about. 2. Veal with crabmeat- The crabmeat that was in the meal tasted spoiled. When we expressed our concern, we were dismissed on the basis that " The meat is not spoiled. Blue crab has a stronger fragrance". Yeah, BS, crab should not taste rancid. Since it was summer, we assumed that the accompanying veggies would be fresh. However, they were steamed (previously frozen) veggies. Also, the mashes potatoes were cold. 3. Veal parm- My friend said that his meal tasted ok, but he later ended up having diarrhea. 4. House soup that included meatballs in a tomato based broth- The soup wasn't terrible but it wasn't good either. It reminded me of canned soup with some veggies added. The soup broth tasted very similar to the tomato sauce on my friend's chicken parm. I also had the cheesy curley fries. The fries were quite good, but only because I believe they came out of a package. The accompanying sauce was cold when i got it so there was a thick film on the top, which didn't look appetizing. 5. Scallops- of all the food that we tried. The scallops were the best, they were in a cream sauce with spinach and bacon. Overall, the ambiance and poor quality food has convinced me to go anywhere else but here. I do not believe I will ever go back unless they make some major changes. The thing that they did exceptionally well was qualify for the show, Restaurant Impossible (they should look into this). read more

Have had a few great experiences here. The food is good and is priced well. It is a nice atmosphere either in the large banquet room with view of the river or the stone walled mill section with water-wheel. It can be a little inconsistent with the food but for the price it is hard to beat. It is my favorite oswego sit-down restaurant. read more

Had a Birthday Party there 1/28/12, the service was wonderful, the Florida room was nicely done and warm, and the scenery of the river was spectacular. We had a buffet which was lackluster, food was plentiful but needed seasoning. I would check out other places in the future. read more

By the time dinner came an our later I was so hungry I could eat a horse. It started with " I'm sorry we do not have lobster tonight", which turned also into, "I'm sorry we ran out of chicken", mind you this is 5:30 PM. Then we heard " I'm sorry your drinks took so long, but a patron backed into me and spilled them". Then it was "I'm sorry your Crab Legs were over cooked". Starting to see a trend yet? Now the food, The shrimp cocktail- shrimp was warm but the sauce was cold. The cheesy bread was the best, but the olive oil was unimpressive. The waitress thought that 4 small scallops and 3 shrimp was more than adequate for the lack of lobster tail and didn't see why we should not pay the market price of $39.99, reluctantly subtracted 4 dollars off the surf & turf. Like I mentioned the crab legs were over cooked and were cold. Because they didn't have any butter warmers, by the time I was nearing the end of my crab legs, the buttered had hardened. The wife's filet mignon, was the worst, it tasted like a top round cut to the shape of filet mignon. The second round of drinks never came by the time we left 2 and a half hours latter. It could've been funny had it been not so pathetic but every time a waitress approached other tables we heard the same "I'm Sorry", over and over. Like the waitresses "I'm Sorry". Bridie Manor is old and beautiful. The view is great. There are some excellent waitresses...that's about all I can say. I would suggest to anyone having a wedding reception there to make sure that they cover all of their bases. We had our wedding reception there and the service was awesome, but the food was mediocre and we were way overcharged. I would not recommend to anyone to have a big party or reception there. read more

My wife's birthday was a hit at Bridie Manor. It was pleasant in the Florida room and we got to watch the river as we waited to be served, which didn't take long. A lovely girl Macalla waited on us promptly and returned often to ask our needs. Dinner was fantastic with salad, prime rib au ju and potatoes. Our beers were ice cold and garnished our meal perfectly. And to boot when they found out it was my wife's birthday they gave her a complimentary slice of chocolate cheese cake topped with a cherry and chocolate sauce. Let me start by saying "Do not go to this restaurant!". A group of 17 of us went for a special occasion and nearly everyone of us had a spectacularly disappointing dinner! Pork chops that could have been used for hockey pucks, soup that was in a hot crock but was cold, deep fried shrimp with the shell and legs still attached, "scallops" that were imitation crab meat balls, dried out chicken, chicken marsala with wine dumped all over it and chicken riggies that were incredibly watery. One guest in our party had to wait over 35 minutes for her meal and when it came it was disgusting-looked like boxed mashed potatoes thrown on a plate with 6 mini scallops thrown in. These are just the highlights of a very disappointing meal. Several people in our party got sick and most did not even get half way through their meal. I have never had such lousy food in my life-the manager should be let go at the very least. I felt bad for the waitresses as they were only serving what was given to them. This place could be such a gem in Oswego but clearly they don't care what they serve or even if they stay in business. Do not go to this restaurant-you will be disappointed!! read more

Went for Easter buffet.It took 20 minutes to get our 1st drinks had to ask another waitress to see where they were, since our waitress was busy talking and laughing with another table across the room. Waitress #2 comes back and said oh the bartender is still making them ... What squashing the grapes for the wine or was she having trouble twisting the caps off the bottles of beer ? When our waitress comes with our drinks she gave a lame excuse that she is the "go to girl" if there is problems in the kitchen or seating they bother her...We just wanted drinks not excuses. The food pans were almost empty at all times which I can't understand since the food was obviously prepared in advance. The ham was starting to shrivel up, the leg of lamb was served without mint jelly and couldn't tell if it was roast beef or the lamb. They looked the same.They ran out of rice and served spaghetti with the seafood newburgh. The salad table consisted of lettuce, onion, tomato and 1 dressing, Italian. Oh yes, I forgot about the rolls, that they pulled out of packages and put in the bowl...and failed to bring more butter. DO NOT COME HERE. THEY WILL SCREW YOU OVER. Last year I held a formal banquet here. I was in charge of handing out all of the drink chips. At the end of the night when we closed the bill, the manager said we were $3,000 short. I knew this was incorrect because I handled all of the drink chips myself. I recounted numerous times before as well as kept count of how many we had left over. We also only had about 30 guest, half of who were underage and not drinking so us owing 3,000 for alcoholic beverages would not be possible. Servers were very rude and bad talked us even though we were a small very professional group. I worked as a banquet server doing weddings and parties for 5 years when I was younger. I know how these things can go and if we were a terrible group I would admit that but we were easy going, not needy, clean and barely bugged the servers. I didn't think it was worth posting on here last year but recently I heard of another incident taking place with a mutual friend of mine who had a very similar experience. The manager tried screwing them out of a couple thousand because of the bar situation. Don't come here it is a waste of time, the service is terrible, food was cold, manager was not friendly. They know nothing about customer service and they will try to take advantage of you. read more
