Great service and friendly greeting. Seated promptly. Because of an allergy they were able to change the shrimp dish to over greens. Nice salads and cool decor.

Excellent food, wonderful service and a nice, comfortable atmosphere. We stayed at the Lodge for a few nights but only ate there for dinner once and breakfast once. We wanted to try other food venues in the area. Also, the prices were a bit steep for us to eat there every meal, so we were selective. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals we had. The only regret that we couldn't try everything we wanted. Perhaps next time.

Beautiful ambiance and good service make this restaurant a good find. We started with cocktails, expertly made and reasonably priced. I ordered French onion soup and a lobster roll platter for a main, served with oodles of piping hot sweet potato fries ($2.00 upcharge). I needed my husband to share the fries since the serving was so large. The lobster roll was good and it came with a small dish of pickled carrots and cucumber. Our waitress Gabby was very busy, but checked on us regularly to ensure we were happy. Great find in a rural part of Oswego County.

Ordered a crème brûlée for $9.75 and it tasted amazing but was thin as paper. I honestly don't think the picture does it justice. This was by far the thinnest dessert I've ever had. Was not worth the price. I've had this exact dessert here in the past and it was nothing like this. Otherwise my dinner was good and drinks were good as well

    Fish on !!

The food was fantastic and Abby was an amazing waitress. Angie is amazing at the front desk. So helpful. The hotel is amazing, rooms are beautiful and the jacuzzi really helped after three days of excellent fishing. Highly recommend.

Stopped in for drinks and dinner. Very nice ambiance and decor. Bartender made great drinks. Sat at the bar until our table was prepped. We had a party of 7. We got 2 orders of their Soft Pretzels with Cheese. Pretzels were good but the cheese sauce shines! Additional app was the Pulled Pork Poutine. A++ on that. Side salads were VERY fresh. 3 of us got their broiled North Atlantic Haddock with bread crumb breading. Again A++. The Garlic fries were amazing. Other members of our party got the NY Fried Chicken and they raved about it. Sherry (was our server). She was very attentive with drink refills and checked on us every few minutes. Definitely will be back!

For lunch I ordered the ceaser salad, french onion soup and a glass of pinot grigio.

I recently stayed at the Tailwater Lodge for a wedding, and we had a great experience with the food and service here. The restaurant definitely gives you that cozy lodge feel with the wood elements and decor. I had breakfast, lunch and dinner here, although dinner was provided at the wedding. For breakfast I had a really great cup of coffee and the avocado toast with eggs on the side. The avocado toast had interesting toppings on it that I wouldn't normally think to put on it, but it was very tasty. I came back for a quick lunch before the wedding I got a glass of wine and ceaser salad and french onion soup. Both were very good. The soup had good flavor and the salad was well dressed. Both of my servers were exceptional, extremely attentive and friendly. Our dinner which was served at the wedding was great. It was buffet style with lots of options. Mashed potatoes, rolls, two types of pasta, prime rib or salmon, it was great! I definitely recommend the Tailwater Lodge restaurant if you're ever in the area.

Undercooked cold filet with a solid cold puck of butter on top

I made a reservation for 2 at 6:30 on a Saturday. When we arrived they took us to the back room next to a table with a baby. We ordered drinks and 30 minutes later are told the beer ordered is out and we ordered something else... it took 45 minutes to get our drinks. I ordered filet and one piece was cooked fine the other was very raw and they took it back to cook it longer. They put a solid cold puck of some herb butter over my medium warm food, it was weird and I put it to the side. We were filling our own water with a pitcher left out on the counter. For the prices I was very disappointed. The service was poor, the back room ambiance wasn't great, the food was not that good. I was really disappointed.

Went here for dinner during a quick overnight trip at the Tailwater Lodge. We sat at the bar and quickly had drinks ordered! The speciality holiday drinks were great. The bartender was quick and personable. We had dinner reservations, but the place wasn't very full, so we probably could have done without them. It's also pretty spacious inside with several tables. First, we ordered an appetizer which was fantastic. It was the Salmon River Signature Sampler. This included chicken quesadilla bites, sweet corn fritters, pretzels and cheese, and crispy thai shrimp. The sweet corn fritters OMG. They were sweet (not too sweet) and so delicious. We ended up ordering dinner right at the bar and it came pretty quick as well. I ordered the special for the night, salmon Alfredo pasta, and my husband ordered the half pound cheeseburger. He said the burger was just okay. He also said the fries were bland. I however, thought the salmon dish was cooked perfectly. We were going to have breakfast at the Tailwater also, but decided the menu didn't have many options.

My cousin and I went here for steelhead fishing. We loved it. Nicely appointed rooms. The great restaurant fills up fast, and it has a fantastic menu with delicious food and beers. We enjoyed the energy in the place, it was fantastic. We met nice people, bought a few gifts at the gift store and had an incredible experience. We will be back to make more great memories sometime soon!

    Angus burger and a salad

Great meal! We had the lobster roll, quesadillas, and the angus burger for lunch today. Everything was very good but the lobster roll was really delicious. Very nice upscale hunting lodge type atmosphere. Excellent service from our waitress Michelle! We finished it off with a piece of carrot cake that must be repeated. Great meal overall. This is one corner of upstate we have to come to more often!

There's filet mignon under this sauce, believe it or not.

Seemingly in the middle of rural upstate NY is this gem of a restaurant. The server and everyone on the staff that interacted with us were simply lovely! Kind, helpful and joyful. I ordered a turkey melt with onion rings, and my friend had a burger with fried which she claimed was one of the best she had eaten in a long time. Accompanied by "sassy sauce" our fries and onion rings were dipped in this delightful yet spicy accoutrement! My turkey melt was delicious- carved turkey- not slimy cold cuts, cheese and banana peppers were a perfect and delectable combination on lightly toasted bread- simply marvelous! For desert- and they are all lovingly homemade, I had a mixed berry pie with ice cream and my friend had a slice of Dutch apple pie! Both equally and fabulously delicious! We left stuffed to the gills and so glad that we turned the truck around to try this hidden gem! Don't pass it up- stop by- it's worth it!

On our first visit, my 87-year-old father casually mentioned that he hadn't known the place existed. The owner responded by yelling at him about how long the business has been open and listing other places she owns, leaving him feeling embarrassed and ignorant. The final straw happened during my most recent visit. I flew in from Las Vegas and wanted to take my parents, both in their 80s, to get sandwiches. Standing for long periods is difficult for them, so they sat briefly in the dining area while I ordered. They were the only customers in the restaurant at the time. They were immediately yelled at and told they could not sit there unless they ordered from the dinner menu. My father politely explained that we were ordering sandwiches and that his daughter had just flown in. The owner said it didn't matter--if we weren't ordering off the dinner menu, we had to leave. As a result, we were forced to eat in our car in the middle of winter. Great food does not excuse disrespectful, unkind treatment--especially toward elderly customers. The lack of compassion was shocking, and I will not return.
