Beautiful night to be on the rooftop. Last minute Friday evening decision and they were able to seat us outside. Chairs were comfortable outside. Live music inside was good but a bit above our preferred volume level so glad we could be accommodated outside plus the weather was perfect. Drinks to start were both amazing - Butterfly Effect and Blister in the Sun. Daily flatbread special with chicken, tomatoes and spinach was tasty with just the right crunch to the crust. A bit disappointed in the burnt ends though. They are expected to be very fatty but a bit too much in the case. The spicy blackberry jam was a good accompanying flavor. Finished with the Raspberry Cheesecake Chimis to share. Warm with a scoop of ice cream for a great combo. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. Bummed to see a processing charge on the bill for credit card use though. I understand that is a fee they have to pay but I see it as a cost of doing business just like having power on to run the restaurant.

I absolutely love The Rooftop Lounge. Here's my quick assessment of this gorgeous eatery. Vibe - Grown, Sexy, Chic, Upscale, and Modern. Customer Service - Wonderful! Everyone was very attentive, polite, and efficient. Menu - The Rooftop Lounge serves delicious, appetizing, and aesthetically pleasing food by way of small plates. They offer vegetarian, seafood, gluten-free, and meat entrees. As well as an extensive cocktail, mocktail, beer, and wine list. This restaurant is absolutely beautiful and a definite must try. Perfect for date night, ladies' night, lunch dates, solo dates, etc.

Has to stay for a second drink. Not disappointed with this Pinot Grigio. Very smooth!

Another gray day in Syracuse made us hunger for a road trip so off to Oswego we went. Museums, cocktails, and dinner was on the menu. I had been following the Rooftop Lounge since they opened and yes I know February is not the perfect time to sample the rooftop which is closed, but hey that can't stop me! From the moment we entered this beautifully revitalized building where the walls were covered with local art, I knew this would be a great choice. The hostess was so pleasant and escorted us in the elevator to the 5th floor. We walked into the restaurant and were immediately in awe of the beautiful view and the cheerful server who greeted us. We sat at the bar and ordered a local brew from Prison City brewery and I fell in love with the specialty martini menu and choose Burning Love made with Mezcal, Cointreau, lime, and cranberry Jalapeño simple syrup. All I can say is that it was delicious! The bartender was great and gave us so many recommendations when we come back with our kids and grandkids this summer. They have a substantial wine list reasonably prices as well as an extensive bourbon and spirit menu. We did not eat as we had dinner reservations next door, but the creative small plates looked amazing and we will certainly be back!

The view of Lake Ontario and the Oswego River was fun. I enjoyed a pink pear martini and a shrimp cocktail. Both were delicious. An employee had encouraged me to save room for dessert - he was carrying 4 Turtle ice cream cakes up the elevator. Good advice - delicious! Service was friendly, but not attentive. Can't beat the view and food!

I've been so happy to see all of the revitalization projects in downtown Oswego, including the new LITATRO building's Rooftop Lounge. The venue is absolutely gorgeous with spectacular views of the city. Its easy to forget you're in downtown Oswego and not a bigger, more cosmopolitan area. The cocktail list is extensive and on the bar, you see an extensive assortment of garnishes, bitters, homemade simple syrups. Most of, if not all of the signature cocktails, can be made into non-alcoholic mocktails. They also have a list of appetizers and dinner specials that are a fusion of modern and ethnic cuisines. My dad ordered an amaretto sour that was served in a tall Tom Collins glass. I had to take a sip and it was a perfect blend of amaretto and homemade sour mix. I opted for the Blueberry ginger mojito. It was a perfect marriage of flavor. My friend ordered the Raspberry Rose Lemon Drop, a rosy hued cocktail with a rose petal sugar rim. It not only looked delicious, it was. I ordered one for my second round. My mom ordered this as a mocktail, which was a bit too sweet for me, but she really liked it. It was evident that not only are the recipes and presentation inventive, the mixologists know how to make a proper cocktail. Live music, including a piano round out the sophisticated ambience. Adam, our server, was energetic and friendly. We really enjoyed our drinks and I'd come back for dinner another time.

What a wonderful find in Oswego! This was the first time I was in town and this is by far one of my favorite restaurants in the city. It is a rooftop restaurant and lounge with both indoor and outdoor seatings. During the winter months it is gold to be able to sit inside with large windows overlooking the whole city. The restaurant has a very modern vibe, with delicious appetizers and drinks. This place should be an overwhelming hit in Oswego! I ordered the duck dumplings which were crips lite and probably one of the best dumplings that I've ever had. The filet medallions felt a bit dry after eating the juicy dumplings. But I think my palette was changed and I couldn't savior the medallions as much. If I had stayed longer, I would have come to this restaurant again and again. Service was astounding, Robert's recommendations were all great! Great atmosphere and a cold rainy day, being inside, enjoying the warm delicious food hit the spot!

The service was great. The food was also very good! I don't think you could go wrong with what you choose from this menu.

We had our first visit here for a late lunch and loved it. We wanted a rooftop table but they only one they had was in back street view so we chose to go inside where we could see the River. Our drinks were good, but on the pricey side. We shared appetizers...a vodka sauce flat bread special and the filet crostinis. Both were very good. Our server was great. We will definitely come back and have dinner here.

The restaurant on the corner of Bridge and West First Streets in the center of Oswego is probably not something you'd expect to find in the area, somewhere that adds an entirely different dimension to dining in the city - a showcase of cuisine inspired by the American south. We recently tried out Southern Fare with some friends and we were all extremely impressed with the restaurant. My wife and I got there a bit earlier than our friends, so we sat at the bar for a bit. As someone who doesn't drink, I'm always excited to see mocktails on the menu. My wife got a cocktail, I got a mocktail, we both loved the drinks and the bartender was extremely nice and personable. We made a reservation for 6PM on a Saturday, although it seemed we probably didn't need one this day, so when our friends showed up, we were sat right away. Our friends ordered cocktails, while we ordered another round for ourselves, and again, loved everything we got. We ordered some friend green tomatoes for an appetizer, which were a little bland, but the sauce was good and made up for it. We all ordered a different main dish and everyone was very happy with their food. I ordered a pork chop special - I love pork chops, but don't eat them often, as my wife isn't a fan, and pork chops can be difficult to cook properly. The dish was a lemon marinated pork chop, grilled, topped with a strawberry compote, crispy fried potatoes and roasted broccoli. The pork chop was huge, cooked perfectly, juicy, bursting with flavor. The broccoli and potatoes were also delicious and needed nothing added to them. It's probably one of the best meals I've had in CNY, period. It was a little bit higher priced, but it's what we expected, and the food was absolutely worth it. We will absolutely be back again.

The lake views are beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect backdrop for a casual meal. One unique touch I loved was that they provide paper bags to cover your food when you're eating outside, a clever way to keep the seagulls from swooping down and stealing your meal! Inside, it's exactly what you'd expect from a traditional drive-in. The staff was friendly, efficient, and kept the line moving quickly. Plenty of parking with some space across the street too. Cleanish restrooms. One thing to know if you have food allergies, specifically a shellfish allergy, and they use shared fryers, so I couldn't safely order anything fried. I really appreciated their honesty and transparency. Between the friendly service, gorgeous waterfront location, and nostalgic atmosphere, Rudy's is a classic place that's easy to recommend.

After 80 years on the shore of Lake…read moreOntario, Rudy's carries a lot of lore opened by Rudy Gadziala and his wife Marie in 1946, now run by third-generation owner Jason Livesey, famous for its Texas hot sauce and the founder's old line about owning a "million dollar hot dog stand." Online reviews are all over the map, so we wanted to see for ourselves. We visited recently with our 7- and 8-year-old nephews, hoping to soak up the tradition. The reality was more transactional. The hostess took our order while sipping her own beverage likely why we were shorted an order of fries. Nice enough, but not especially professional or welcoming. The whole operation moves fast; the staff is determined and task-focused rather than friendly. You get a buzzer and wait. The interior was renovated in 2025, and it shows but not in a good way. The bright white walls and green banquettes feel sterile, more fast-casual chain than 80-year-old lakeside institution. In modernizing, they stripped out whatever nostalgia the old space had and put nothing back. Some local artwork, vintage photos, or lake history on those fresh white walls would go a long way. The food: the boys enjoyed their cheeseburgers, and the fries are genuinely good. The fish sandwich was generously sized but bland the batter had little flavor, and the tartar sauce didn't rescue it. For a place with an 80-year reputation built on fish, I expected more. The lobster mac and cheese left a lot to be desired. The tab: four drinks, two cheeseburgers with fries, lobster mac, and a fish sandwich with fries came to nearly $70 steep for a lakeside stand where fries alone run $5.25. The setting is lovely and the legacy is real. But sometimes generational ownership slips down a slick slope and making money starts to matter more than making memories.

And for the 2nd time (well, 4th technically - we came back multiple times over each weekend), we had a terrific experience. The staff are SUPER nice here. They're just really great at making you feel welcome, you're taken care of every step of the way. The food comes out quick, you have just enough time to relax and chat between dishes but we've never felt like we had to wait long - despite how packed the place always gets (popular spot, for sure). But yeah aside from the terrific service, the main reason we keep coming back is the quality of the dishes they consistently put out there. This trip we got to try the "Friendship Fries" as a moderately spicy, super flavorful appetizer, and then we split a whole branzino in a delicious horseradish sauce. And because we heard great things about their burgers, we came back just now for another dinner and split one of those too - predictably great, barely any condiments needed really. Juicy, well-cooked and tasty as heck. They have a super extensive wine selection from FLX, France, Italy and all across the U.S., but we tend to order from their cocktail menu - just tried the "Ship of Theseus" today. Unique flavor and delightful to sip on. We kinda wanna find another spot in Geneva just so we don't get overly attached, and end up spending most dinners here from now on, whenever we're in town. But so far nothing else has really come close.

All arrived on cold plates, over-seasoned with paprika (and nothing else'), accompanied by a meager five or six overcooked thin slices of zucchini. It was obvious the vegetables were reheated, as they almost dissolved on the cold plate. The fish was barely warm, bland, and uninspired. The chicken Parmesan was very large, enough to serve three. The chicken Caesar was also lime-warm, also obviously reheated, warm and limp, not hot and seared as one would expect from a grilled chicken breast. It was chopped into shall pieces and tossed in the salad. Our friend did not eat it all, as they were turned off by the odd flavor and obvious "not grilled, reheated" presentation. Later that night, they were sick and continued to be ill into the next afternoon. This establishment needs a critical look at its head chef, freshness of ingredients, and presentation of service.
