Biodegradable containers , yet even the beans was wrapped tightly. We did the family meal with whole chicken. Great value for money. The portion sizes were ample. The quinoa/ rice was so savory and the black beans was tasty. The steamed yucca was on point and a perfect pairing with the well seasoned chicken. I frequently pass by this establishment because I work in the area. I recently met a new coworker from Peru who recommended this place, stating it offers authentic Peruvian cuisine close to home. I'm always interested in discovering restaurants that serve genuine dishes from different countries without Americanized alterations. When he mentioned the location, I recognized exactly where it was. He specifically recommended the Fried Rice, known as Chaufas. I also learned from him that Chinese influence is prevalent in Peruvian cuisine due to historical migration, which explains why these flavors are integrated. The restaurant operates as a takeout spot, with no seating available. Upon entering, I was greeted promptly. Initially, I planned to order the Fried Rice, but I decided to try the Lomo Salado with white rice and added chicken instead. The Fried Rice can wait for another visit. My order was ready in about fifteen minutes, and it was substantial enough to serve two people--really good value. The rice was delicious, cooked to perfection--fluffy and well-prepared, even if it lacked a bit of seasoning. They provided a side of Lomo Salado broth, which I could pour over the dish, but I found it unnecessary. The steak was flavorful, tender, and juicy. The chicken I added was decent; it was well seasoned but tasted somewhat cheap, so I wouldn't order it again. The French fries were good, though I prefer rice as a side. Today when I got to work, I decided that for lunch and/or dinner, I figured I could do something I don't normally choose to do: I let UberEats do the recommendation for me. What I mean by that is this. As I was perusing my options on what is featured in the area on UberEats, I had happened on this place, where my Top Offer apparently was. I decided to go along and pick this, and I chose the first option on the "Picked For You" list. So here we arrive at the Lomo Saltado (my protein was the Angus beef cooked well-done). I decided to have my rice and fries to the side because I wanted to play my order carefully as I had never had this before. Actually, Peruvian food in general is not something I really go out of my way to try. Last time I remember having it, I actually tried to make a South America inspired dinner 3 years ago that used a Patagonian main course and a Peruvian recipe for the salad. Let me just say that while I could see other people liking it, what I made was not quite my cup of tea. But back to the order, I wanted to make sure I gave every component a chance to shine. Plus, I had learned the hard way last fall with People's Choice Jamaican that the taste of rice can be ruined if the wrong thing gets on it. I was not taking chances here. I also got an Inca Cola to drink. That wasn't the only reason I was nervous about this place though. I had also read through the reviews after placing my order. While most of the reviews were positive, there were a few that made me feel like I wasn't going to like what was coming my way. Well, when my food had come and it was time to eat, I am glad to report that all my fears I had were put to rest. Actually, this might just be one of the best UberEats orders I had ever had! I'm not joking! I was able to give everything a try before I had to get back on duty, and as everything came together on its own, I had realized that I was foolish to be fearful! Next time I got on break, I combined the rice with the main dish and poured some of the saltado juice in there as well. The resulting dish shocked me! I was HOOKED! I couldn't eat this fast enough! It was a fiesta in every bite, dancing as the flavors caressed my taste buds all the way to the very end. I immediately recommended this restaurant to other people even as I had not finished everything I had ordered it was so good! The fries played well with the green and yellow sauces. Of the two sauces, I preferred the yellow one, but they were both really good regardless. Green one had a bit of a kick to it. As for the soda, it wasn't overly sweet, but it hit the spot. Oh, and how the bag was packed, I was able to tell that the staff put great care into this order. From including eating utensils to putting in a straw. The presentation was also on-point too, and I liked how the main dish was topped off with a flower. Well done! Now, I will say this before I finish. Normally, I have a rule about giving 5 stars to a restaurant: it requires that I visit the place in person. It is so I get to see the full experience for myself in any restaurant I even consider giving the full marks to. Today, I decided to make an exception because, I mean, it just didn't feel right to exclude them at the end of the day when everything was 5-stars all around. I would love to give this place a 4 or higher. Nearly all dishes are prepared well and are absolutely delicious. However, the chicken noodle soup is almost never the same. I understand it is a homemade soup, but if you have two different preparations, they should be labeled as two different soups. I have ordered this soup at least a dozen times. It comes one of two ways: one is a light chicken broth with cilantro, big broccoli chunks, peas, white chicken meat and linguine. The other is a dark yellow, thyme and ginger broth with dark meat (some with bones) slices of ginger, little to no vegetables and linguine. You never know which preparation you are going to get. I've called and asked and they have told me twice that it is always the same when it is not. I will continue to order from Lomito, but just a word of warning to those chicken noodle soup fans - you might not get the soup you want. I hope that inconsistency doesn't spread to other dishes. read more

The portions are VERY generous but the taste was lacking. The green and yellow sauces had an awful taste and I usually Love these sauces. The aguadito soup was good but very salty. My chicken did not have much taste and it did come with good maduros and plenty of white rice. The $30 included a soda and and dessert- the rice pudding was good, at least one thing worked out! I went to pick up a friend's order and while the service was great, I gotta say the air conditioning was set quite low, making for an uncomfortably experience while waiting for our food. I'll say this place has great potential. It is perfect if you are heading home and don't want to cook -- you can get a whole rotisserie style chicken or smaller portion plates. Plus they have a ton other items on their menu. The portions are HUGE. I ordered just 2 entrees for the 4 of us and it was actually enough food. They are also very generous with the sauce. The chicken was tender and flavorful. The salmon entree was very fresh and a very fair portion size of the fish. Healthy option with Quinoa rice on side- rather plain but mix the sauces in and it helps.. They are very generous with the amount of sauce, too. The yellow and green sauce were too spicy for me. Didn't care for the flavors. If they improve the green sauce to be more like the one at that really popular place in Westport, it would bring the meal to a new level. The sides-- were sadly terrible. Sweet potato fries had zero flavor. They need to use a higher quality s. potato. The mashed sweet potatoes- same sort of thing but with a very off taste to it. I mess up and ordered the wrong type of plantains -- because these were deep fried and so hard to bit into-- basically inedible. Yep, the sides need help. I feel bad writing this, as I REALLY wanted to like this place, but I would honestly give 2.5-3 stars tops based on my 1st experience w/ takeout here. So let me start w/the good...We got Lomo, & it was decent. It could've used a little more flavor, but was presented beautifully (the flower was a nice touch) & the portion size was great, as it allowed me & my guy to share. Now, the aji sauce wasn't 'bad' but it definitely wasn't what I am used to, so it was kind of a let down for both of us. (It came w/the green sauce & aji amarillo, we tried both & weren't thrilled) The chicken empanadas are really where my main disappointment comes in:-/ When I saw the container, they looked so good but looks were deceiving in this case. They were thrown in a microwave, definitely not fresh, burnt on the bottoms & overly doughy. I also found it odd that there was hard boiled egg pieces in the empanada, but the meat on the inside wasn't terrible, just cold. I may give it another shot & order something different. read more

We ordered the old time favorites lomo saltado and pollo a la brasa. The lomo was well prepared, and for a take out food the fries were not soggy with the juices as that's what you will get at other peruvian restaurants, you can taste the sauteed onions and tomotoes and the big + here is that they give you the lomo juices and 2 other sauces on the side. Great move chef! why!? so that you can poor the lomo juices at your own taste. This is amazing! My son order the pollo a la brasa, a bit skeptical at first as we normally go to PortChester for this...but we were not planning on driving all the way there. Well you got a "buenazo!!!!!" from my son who is an aspiring foodie haha. The chix was well seasoned moist and the fries and yuka fries were nice and crunchy! First time here! So excited that's there's Peruvian food in Westport! Ordered online and got the Lomo Saltado with top sirloin (there are 2 other cuts of beef choices at extra charge) sweet potato fries and a tres leches cup for dessert. Also bought an extra 3 oz of Peruvian green sauce (for future use on anything!). Brought it all home and the portions are generous - it would be 2 meals and a snack for me alone! Eating only half, I was totally stuffed and satiated. The meat was tender and well seasoned, red sautéed onions were tasty with a little crunch, plantains were cooked just right and not mushy. The rice soaked up the juices from the beef and onions, which also sat on top of French fries that also got flavors from the beef. One thing about the side of sweet potato fries - by the time I got home and opened up the container, the fries had been steaming in its own heat for almost a half hour and no longer crispy, so that's just a typical take-out issue, I could've popped them into the toaster oven but I was hungry and couldn't wait much longer. After all of that, the tres leches cup!! It was light, kinda creamy and not overly sweet. Was way too easy to finish eating it. Will be back for more. read more
