Came here with family and had such a good time! Hole-in-the-wall restaurant with very cute decor. They serve chips and creamy green salsa, but unfortunately ours were a little stale, however they did replace it will fresh chips! We got a couple wines and a vodka soda, everything tasted good. For entrees, we got pollo saltado, camarones al ajillo, and the chaufa pollo. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted great! The server was very helpful when it came to plates and silverware. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back!

We've only had Peruvian a few times so far, so we visited Munay to experience the cuisine again. This restaurant did not disappoint! I loved the variety on their menu. Every dish was flavorful and fresh, and I especially loved the marinade on the steak. The extra effort on presentations of dishes was noticed and appreciated! Our food came out so quickly, and our server was very attentive. Looks like this might be my new go-to spot for Peruvian!

The bucket is overflowing with compliments for this hidden gem in Norwalk, CT! If you're traveling through, Munay is conveniently located less than a minute off of Interstate 95 & if you're already in CT, do yourself a favor and race over here! So much pride is put into the food and beverage here right down to the magazine worthy presentation! The staff here is so warm and joyful as well! Everything we tried was amazing and I'm eager to return to try more of their dishes! Their sauces are also out of this world! Thank you for such a perfect experience Munay, I look forward to being a return customer!

Went for lunch today. What a great meal. My husband's ceviche Munay was incredible, he said it was the best ceviche he's ever had. I had the flounder with pumpkin stew. Never had cilantro chili lime sauce but I found a recipe online and going to give it a try at home, it was wonderful with the chips they served.

Had an absolutely incredible time at Munay Kitchen in Norwalk CT. This place is a hidden gem. I had never tried Peruvian food so I wasn't sure what to expect. We were immediately greeted when we walked in and seated promptly. We tried an assortment of appetizers - from chicken dumplings to the fresh ceviche. Everything was amazing and flavorful. The chef was so knowledgeable about Peruvian food and the flavor infusions from other cultures. I truly can't wait to go back and try more menu items.

Please don't believe these bad reviews. This place is amazing. My husband and I are hard core Peruvian food lovers. We came on a random Wednesday afternoon. He ordered Jalea and I had chaufa mixto. Amazing! We loved that we could see the food being prepared. The waitress was so attentive and the fact that she spoke little English (according to another reviewer - we both speak Spanish) is a good sign. She gave us great recommendations and offered us to go boxes. It's not the pricier side for what we're used to but the portion sizes were huge. We both had our leftovers for dinner that evening. They are also COVID-friendly, all staff wears masks and the tables and spread out. You can see the menu using your phone and even pay without needing to interact with the waiters. We are definitely making the 45 minute drive for another visit soon!

What a great find! We dined at Munay Kitchen with three friends last night and had such a wonderful dinner. I had the tuna appetizer, and the trout entree. My husband had the flounder dish. Both were fantastic. As were the gratis chips and dip beforehand and the amazing desserts after. The wait staff was very attentive, and the manager came over to our table to check on us and chat. The cocktails were exotic and wonderful. There is plenty of parking, and even though the restaurant is housed in a former deli, it retains no trace of the previous venue. I wholeheartedly recommend it. What a great, unique addition to the area.

A surprisingly delightful restaurant in an unexpected location. The inside is beautiful and it's a cozy decor, came here for girls night and we will definitely be back. Their cocktail piece go drinks are also yummy.

It was quite busy when we arrived on a late Sunday a.m. in January. Tables were filled and there was a line for ordering. We decided on a tomato cheddar soup and the Churn it Up sandwich with Havarti and provolone. We were told the wait would be 40 mins, giving us the option to wait it out or go elsewhere. We stuck it out and the food was at our table in less than 20 mins. The sandwiches were ooey gooey toasted cheesiness and paired perfectly with the creamy tomato soup. It came with a lighty dressed arugula salad. I had a freshly brewed ice tea and my dining partner got a Dr. Brown's soda. The breakfast rush was soon over but people were still coming in to eat and grab take out while we enjoyed our meals. They also offer beers and wines and hot chocolate. The entire place was very clean, including the restrooms, although I did not see any table wiping going on. Staff were smiling and polite. Plenty of parking in lot shared with other business.

Damn what a night this has been!…read more So a friend and I decided to come eat here after going to a funeral visitation for a co-worker. It was the first time in 18 years I had been to anything funeral-related, but harkening back to my childhood, we'd have food after funeral services to celebrate the life of the lost loved one, so it was a piece of me I wanted to share with my friend. Another thing that contributed to my wanting to come here is that this is a place I've been wanting to come to ever since this restaurant opened, and it went doubly so when it was named the Best Restaurant in Connecticut for 2024. The fact I finally got to go in of itself was a blessing, and I have to say that I am glad we came here. We were seated immediately upon arrival, and service was quick from start to finish. Our waiter was excellent. He was great making recommendations in effort to get us to save some money, took any questions we had with a smile, and made ordering an easy-peasy affair. Ambiance was very casual, great for any occasion really. If I ever had a date and this was where they took me, I'd be wanting a second date already. They're great for family get-togethers too. Oh, and the bathroom walls made me laugh with their witty one-liners like "Don't be a Gherk" or "Just Dill With It". So based on the recommendations we were given, we shared both of the appetizers we'd ordered: the fried pickles and the biscuits and fix-in's. The fried pickles that this place is known for were really good, very comparable to what you might get from a true Southern state. It comes with a spicy mayo, and paired together, it's divine! The biscuits & fix-ins are two large biscuits accompanied by four types of butter: salted, maple, vanilla, and the strawberry. They were all good, but we both agreed that the vanilla one was out-of-this-world, and the maple one had an authentic Vermonter taste to it. The strawberry one tastes like a strawberry cream cheese which is a good thing here, and even the salted butter was good. We each also got an entree, and I was the only one who ordered a drink. My friend had the Classic Mac & Cheese, and I had the Southwest Meat Platter as well as a Dirty Aphrodite. I love me some good ribs when I eat Southern food, and having the meats all in one, I couldn't say no to that. If I'm being honest, I came close to picking the Kentucky Porch Sipper for my drink, but the call of the Dirty Aphrodite was too big to ignore. And boy oh boy do they make the combination of pickle brine and vodka work with this drink! I don't think I've ever had vodka quite like that before, but Jacob's Pickles does it so well here! The entrees were also great. I saw the cheese pulls as my friend ate and I could tell I probably would have enjoyed that version of the classic dish. As for my dish, the ribs were tender and fell clean off the bone, tasted like a true BBQ wonder. The pulled pork was succulent, ratioed perfectly so nothing overpowers in the dish. The sausage tasted superb. The Nashville Hot Chicken was crispy, juicy, spicy without being overwhelming. The Pickle Slaw was some good Slaw. Is it the best I've ever had? No. But it's competent and definitely deserves to be called a slaw. Jalapeños and corn were great, and I even got another buttermilk biscuit to use the remaining butter we didn't use on our appetizers. All-in-all, one of the best outings I've had in a while. I mean it when I say this: Jacob's Pickles is a MUST-GO! It's that good! You won't regret it.
