Great wood. Clean and hardwood that burns for a long time. Hardworking people and are very reasonably priced. Deliver too.

It is hard to review a business when they don't bother to return your call. I waited a week and gave up.

Lone Cedar was both accommodating and reliable on the wood sizing, and the quality of the wood is awesome.

That's what we were charged last week when we visited; I was shocked because nowhere else I've been to in MD charges that much for bags. So are they wrongly charging customers for their bags?! Second, horrible customer service. Very, very rude checkout lady last weekend when we visited. She had such an attitude & for no reason. Quite disappointing as I've been visiting this market for years and now I won't be returning because you don't treat patrons with disdain and disrespect and you don't overcharge them for your mistakes. They charged me extra for bags even though the bag they gave me that I had already paid for ripped & broke! It wasn't my fault you overstuffed the bag & then when it breaks you're upset because I ask for another bag that's not now broken. Horrible! I went ahead and paid for the extra bags (mind you $0.20/bag) - even though I didn't agree, but that's absolutely not right!

Lots of fresh vegetables and tropical fruits and roots at better prices than gringo stores. A whole wall of spices and dried chiles. Mexican cheeses. Chorizo. Tortillas, and of course masa if you want to make your own. Large selection of meat and poultry, including parts that gringos don't eat, also at excellent prices. Butcher counter if you don't see what you want. Seafood counter has whole fish on ice, cleaned to order. Soft drink flavors you've never heard of. A line of pinatas hanging from the ceiling in the front. My only gripe: you can't buy just one jalapeno (which is what my chili recipe calls for since I use several varieties of pepper). I also did not see the french style bread used for tortas.

Most of the stuff in the store are hispanic food and products. They have a fantastic section of fresh fruit and vegetables including greens of all kind right by the entrance. There are about 6 aisles and each one of them is a world of it's own for what it contains. There are also random boxes of stuff that are on sale which are located outside of the aisles. Big section for boultry and meat you also can get specific order from the butcher, there are also a seafood section which sells most seafood you may need. Checking out could be a little difficult cuz what I notice many times is there are at most 3 open line at any given time and that's not enough. Check out ladies always look stressed out and could sometimes be rude specially if you DO NOT or CAN NOT speak spanish.

If you can get past that, I LOVE this store. Hubby and I binge watch cooking shows on YouTube. I am working on lifestyle changes and cooking healthier. This international store has Asian, Indian, African and Hispanic products. The produce is wonderful. You can find fresh cilantro (3 bunches for $1.00), inexpensive ginger (quality bunches for approx $3.50) and lots of fresh herbs. The tofu selection made me cry. There are items I haven't heard of. There isn't just one of anything. There are shelves dedicated just for soy sauce. One aisle was stocked with rices and dried beans. The "scarey section" (i.e. meats & seafood) wasn't as shocking as the Alexandria LA Mart (no goat heads). There were lots of fish and seafood choices. The dessert and sweets rows had interesting items. As a ketchup recovering addict, I never knew there were tomato candies. I suggest visiting this location.

I got the Roseda Roast after seeing it in Bethesda magazine. Definitely worth the $16 in terms of size and taste. Also got the Godzilla and it is a beast! When I picked up my food it took a while before someone came over to the counter, and I had to speak up to be serviced, so expect to ask for service. Ambiance is a tiny shop feel, so if you're hoping to eat there, you need to find a bench outside. Still, for the price and taste, this is a must visit in my book.

The service is always bad and the food is expensive so the least they can do is get the order right. When you walk in no one acknowledges you even if you're the only customer there. When they finally do they act as if they're doing you a favor by taking your order...no smile, no welcome in...nothing. One time I was there, several people were in the store and the workers were laughing and talking behind the counter. About three minutes went by before I asked if someone could hand me my order. Right after that a customer who had been there before me asked if they could order, so there's no telling how long they had been waiting before I spoke up. It's never a pleasant experience. It's a local neighborhood spot so I try to support but at this point they're playing in my face.
