Brought my other dog Cooper in for a full groom last Saturday, and just like Corrina earlier in June Cooper had been combed out daily but had not had a haircut for a year. Cyndel worked on Cooper and did a spectacular job. Once again, the best grooming/haircut he has ever had, and Cyndel did the whole job very quickly. Came in to have my elderly dogs bathed and nails cut... they are short haired dogs but boy they still shed a lot! I booked my appt online for a Saturday which works great with my work schedule. Dropped the dogs off and was warmly greeted by the groomer, Annie. She handled my old lady dogs with patience and care. You could tell how much she pours her heart into each dog and making sure it is an enjoyable experience for them while also meeting the expectations of the human owner (me). I picked up my golden girls a couple hours later.., they smelled great, had clean ears and teeth and short nails. I could tell my girls felt pampered and exhausted from the festivities. By far the BEST nail trim experience I've EVER had. I brought my 2 senior pups here (chihuahua and my pitty- both 12 years old!) and I'm officially never going anywhere else! Cordae greeted me with the most genuine smile, introduced me to the groomers and really made me feel welcome as I waited in the lobby! Anne, the groomer, treated my pups like one of her own. Bait and switch ....... This is my fourth time in at Lone Mountain Grooming. I was given pricing for my dogs from the owner and have been charged at that amount the last three times I have been in. This time when I went to pick up my dog, instead of normal price of $85.00, they were attempting to charge me $115.00. The groomer told me it was up to her what they charge not the owner. She changed the sizing of my dog to charge a higher amount :( I respectfully let them know that I had been in three times prior and each time I was charged the same amount $85.00 but the Groomer didn't seem to care. She was very snotty about it and was going to continue to charge me the $115 anyway. Of course I held my ground and only paid the 85,00 which I was quoted. I called and spoke with the owner today and didn't feel much better after getting off the phone with him. He told me he needed to raise his prices so he could pay his groomers, but neglected to let me know prior to the grooming. He fully supported the price change and acted like I should be happy because in the end I only paid the $85.00. I told him That's only because I wasn't going to pay the $115.00 they wanted to charge me. I have always had a good experience there and have reviewed them as such but I will never be bringing my dogs back again to experience this kind of bait and switch. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND To A FRIEND - Suddenly we were charged $90 today for what had been previously $65 for our Shitzu with only a trim. When questioned- the explanation was that he was there for an extra 2 hours - in a crate non the less for "wait time". Told it's in the waivers we signed. For a small business did not appreciate the attitude or the lack of reasonableness with a loyal customer up until now. Needless to say we will find a different grooming salon. I started going to Lone Mountain with the previous owner when I brought my puppy in for his first haircut,they did not tell me the ownership had changed even after I asked. I've never had a groomer with such an attitude. She's abrasive she's mean, and I don't think she's kind to the dogs. It was my puppies first grooming. She shamed me because he was matted but that's how I got him.She told me how dare I get a dog not realizing the grooming upkeep. I told her I've had the same type of dog for 30 years. I'm completely aware of what I have to do to take care of my dog. Then she proceeds to say that if my dog doesn't calm down, they could cut him and he could bleed out on the table before I would make it to vet.in my lifetime of my doggies I have never had anyone say something so awful let alone a person taking shears to my dog then I'm realizing they don't wash the dogs with water. They use dry shampoo and comb out the mats, which is extremely uncomfortable for dogs, especially a puppy. I I asked to have his ears trimmed I wanted to keep a little hair off the tip this woman completely shaved my dogs ears. He didn't even look like the same dog when I picked him up he was extremely upset after coming home from this place I know it's hard to find groomers, but I'd suggest you keep looking. I have taken my dogs here for over 16 years and was very disappointed that I was not notified that the business was recently sold. I received a call from the new owner that an appointment I hadn't made was cancelled and I did make an appointment for the following week since my senior dog needed to be groomed. The day before the appointment we received a call confirming the appointment and we're advised that they had raised their prices. I cancelled and feel that that is a very bad way to treat customers immediately as a new owner. The new price is $10 above the average price in the valley. I am very unhappy to have to find a new groomer for my senior dog but it has been done and do no longer recommend this business! read more

I took my 13-year-old dogs to her for over a year. I groomed them every single month......... when one of them started to fail and I knew it was time to put them down. I called her and said I need him bathed.... I didn't want to put him down in the condition that he was in hygienically! she said no I don't want to groom your dogs anymore. I brought my dog into this place and verbally told them to only give him a bath no cut and to cut the mats behind his ears. My husband picked up the dog and he was cut I have never cut my dogs hair ever. I was completely devastated when I seen him. I called them up and they proceeded to tell me that is what I asked for because they kept saying it was called a tidy I told them again several times when I made appt that I only want a bath and matts cut behind ears so if that is what you call it then yes. When I spoke to the gal that scheduled the dog she kept saying sorry we can't put the hair back i asked for my money back and she said they did the work , didn't approve of the work they did so I asked to speak to manager and she said his Name was Ceasar and he would be in tomorrow so I called this morning and he told me that they were sorry and couldn't get a refund as they did the work and because I didn't understand what a tidy was that it was my fault even though I specifically told them what I wanted. Very rude and unprofessional of an owner to handle this situation the way he I'd. I have worked in customer service and would never treat a paying customer this way. I will never take my dog there again ever. read more

I was desperate to find someone to trim nails on my little rescue Chi-mix. The vet wanted over $100. She was so terrified of having her nails done I could not hold her. They took me right in and in a few minutes had her nails Dremel trimmed (with a bit of noise from her that I expected). She seemed fine and happy afterwards. I was thrilled to say the least! After patronizing this business for 15 years, we were shocked when we were called by the owner to pick up our dog (a very friendly 15 year old toy poodle) which we had just dropped off 30 minutes earlier for his grooming. The owner claimed our dog was so disruptive, it caused another employee to leave the shop. They called 3 times in 30 minutes. Imagine a dog grooming facility. Dogs are winning, barking etc. But after 15 years of giving them our business our dog was kicked out unceremoniously just as my husband was in ICU recovering from a quadruple heart bypass the previous day. Incredibly insensitive and inconsiderate. Will never return. Prices becoming uncompetitive as well. read more

So glad I found this place to bring my two scruffy jack Russells. Today Dave found one of my dogs had not had his anal glands expressed properly while we were gone this summer and the poor little guy was itching himself like crazy trying to do it himself. Dumb dog person that I am, I thought it was because he was swimming in lakes & rivers for months and just itched. So embarrassed but thank heavens for Dave figuring it out before he had serious health problems. Never will I take them anywhere else on vacation. I just moved here and was looking for a place to take my older Rottweiler mix. I can't say enough about how wonderful my dog Spencer was treated and how great he looked when I picked him up. When I moved to Cave Creek, I was in search for a new pet groomer and this place on the top of my list for the amount of stars it had. I have a Havanese, so she needs tender care and attention to detail when being groomed. For the whole shebang (hair cut, bath, nails trimmed, ears cleaned) I pay a very reasonable price. The staff is extremely nice and careful with my dog. I used to take her to PetSmart or Petco for a groom, but the staff wasn't very gentle, which caused her to not want to walk in the door when it was time to get done. She now has no problem at all walking into Lone Mountain Pet Grooming, and looks absolutely perfect when she comes out! read more

Had our older Rot Mix groomed and shaved at Lone Mountain Pet Grooming. When we got him home I noticed he was full of hair I brushed him off and it looked ok. My wife called to mention the dog not beiing in the typical way we usually find him after grooming she was told, "Sh*t Happens"' and was hung up on. I don't care what education level or type of business your in "sh*t happens" is far from what I would consider a resonable level of customer service. Furthermore the cost was almost $20 more than our normal groomer Boalder Falls. They do a bettter job and have a much higher level of customer service and a better vocabulary. I brought my dog to get groomed not only did I pay more than I pay at other grooming salons he looked awful. When I called to see if they would fix all the areas of his hair cut that were long and very uneven the person seemed like it was an inconvenience so I did not bring him in to be fixed.
