The burgers were great. Asked for medium and that's what I got. Juicy and good seasoning. I get my burgers plain so need some good seasoning to enjoy. Nice that they had the option of a side salad or side of fries which is less than a basket of fries. My husband really wanted to try the onion rings but only wanted a couple and I don't eat them. Need to come back with more people to share. They looked amazing. Loved the special margarita which was watermelon. Small inside and a small space outside. We asked about Podnahs and if we can get this burger over there. They said you can order from both places directly but could eat at one. So if husband wants a burger he orders here and I could order BBQ next door. Very friendly and good experience we will be back.

My husband and I really liked Podnah's BBQ next store, and learned the same guy also owns this burger place so came back to try it. It was very busy when we arrived. It's counter service and we struggled to find a table after ordering. Tables weren't clearing because no one had their food. It took over an hour to get two burgers with fries! The burger was just ok. It wasn't hot, the fries were basic and weren't fresh. The bun was good but made the burger overall kind of dry. Definitely NOT worth an hour or more wait. The server didn't even apologize for the long wait when we finally got our food.

The restaurant is in a great location. Plenty of street parking and there's ice cream and other places nearby for an after dinner treat. The layout of the restaurant is cluttered, the bar is very big and tables are cramped around it. There are a few tables outside, which was more comfortable so we chose that option. Service was friendly and the food came out at a reasonable time. We ordered the cheeseburger and had high hopes, but it fell flat. The bun to meat ratio is off, there's way too much bread. Also, the buns were dry. The meat was overcooked and wasn't very flavorful. With the abundance of amazing restaurants in Portland, this won't be one I'm looking forward to eating at again; though it's t would probably be good if you want to drink.

The burger was super delicious! Obviously couldn't wait to eat it. The basket of fries was the perfect size. It was shared between 3 people and a toddler. The service was great and the ambiance super chill. Will definitely be coming back for another burger.

We decided to come here to check out the food. We ordered the green chile burger, Bleu cheeseburger, and their hit dog special. The quality of meat on the burgers were great and super tasty. The size of the burgers were also of good size. The hot dog was also pretty good to try out. I would come here again.

Service kinda nonexistent. No greeting or thank you. Ambience very nice and clean. Bacon cheese burger and green chili burger. Both patties were dry. Bread dry as well. Maybe a burger sauce or something? Coney dog was good but the tiniest hot dog, really not worth it. This is a one a done kinda place. The fries tho, amazing!

Had the bacon cheeseburger which had some of the best bacon on it. Service was friendly and food came out pretty quickly (just a couple other orders when I was there for a late lunch). Prices seemed reasonable compared to other burger places. Burger wasn't greasy and could get clean bites with the bacon breaking nicely but not overcooked or salty. The main issue was the burger tasted watery so didn't get much flavor of the meat itself or toppings (minus the bacon and cheese) which could be caused by a few things. Would be willing to give another shot though.

Let me start by saying I will really really miss La Taq... BUT GOSH DARN! Lone Star Burger knows what they're doing! My boyfriend and I went during lunch on a weekday so it wasn't super crowded and we were able to sit down right away. We ended up ordering the hatch chile burger, coney dog, and onion rings to share. The burger was so juicy and flavorful that I'm still thinking about it! And don't get me wrong, I love a smashburger... but they've been popping up everywhere. It's so nice to have a new spot that has a thick patty! And the red onions are my fav. Not a lot of places do red onions but for a burger, they're delicious. And the onion rings? I promise you. Best in town.

Ground BRISKET, SIRLOIN, and CHUCK burgers!! Need I say more? The cooked to perfection Green Chile Cheeseburger is drip-down-your-chin-and-hands juicy and full of flavor. The onion rings and shoestring fries are crisp and tasty. Make sure to order the chocolate chip and pecan cookie for dessert. If you're too full, take a couple home for later - you won't regret it.

Onion rings with a mayo/horseradish sauce. Fry on it was good.

Food was decent. Had the green chile burger and it had a little heat to it. Meat was cooked right and the bun was soft. Also order the onion rings and the special hotdog for the Weiner Week promotion going on. Only one thing I would've preferred on the burger which is sliced onions. My burger has chopped onions which made it hard to eat without a lot of the onions falling off of the burger. Overall a pleasant experience. The space isn't too big but it wasn't too crowded when I arrived. You also have to order at the bar and they give you a number where you take it to your seat. Would like to come back and try their cocktails. Also the place was next door to Podnah's and few doors down from Nick's ice cream place. Since the space is small, we missed it the first time for some reason. Wasn't paying attention as it was part of a strip of restaurants in that block including Hat Yai.

Ain't she purty! Burger week burger 2025.

This review is strictly for the hamburger week burger. I give Lone Star a 5 star because they're always good, the vibe is chill always with good music, and the employees are great. I really like the burger but I will give it a 4 star. The ingredients were top notch but for some reason it didn't hit a home run for me. Trust me, I would eat this burger all day long but it wasn't my favorite. Still love the place and will be back many times.

Special shout out to the kitchen staff for big multitasking energy: watching the game, closing out the place, and firing out some amazing food. We walked in at about 6:30pm on a Wednesday night and was kind of greeted by one of the servers. She wasn't too friendly and seemed to be irritated that we said we'd wait for a table as opposed to sitting at the bar. Once seated, that same server came over to try to take our orders and once again seemed irritated that we weren't ready to order. Luckily, another server took over from there and we had a pleasant anniversary meal the rest of the time! Here's everything we tried: Devilish Eggs - This came with 4 deviled eggs and was just okay. The crispy bacon pieces was the best part of this dish! Steak Tartare - This was the main reason we chose this restaurant and we were definitely not disappointed! We spent our first anniversary together in Europe and had so much tartare and this really brought back some wonderful memories for us. The tartare was rich and mustardy, beef flavor was great, and it sort of just melted in your mouth. The crispy chips paired well with the tartare and I can't wait to come back and have this again! Mussels - This was a big bowl of mussels in a white wine garlic sauce with toasted baguettes. Mussels tasted fresh and garlicky with just a bit of funk from whatever cheese they grated on top. The toasted baguettes were so good dipped into that white wine broth. I wish this dish came with skinny fries but it was also so good as is. Would definitely order this again! Field Greens - I asked for this to come out with my meal but it came out about 10 minutes before the entrees came out. It was very light and refreshing. I saved half to have with my meal but most of it was wilted already by the time our mains came out. But it's okay! The fried chicken actually had a small portion of this salad on its plate. I wouldn't have ordered this had I known, so next time will skip the side salad altogether! Fried chicken - I really wanted to like this dish but alas, fried chicken breast is very hard to make juicy. I definitely prefer dark meat because that's harder to mess up. My partner enjoyed it but he doesn't mind dry chicken. The sauces were phenomenal! That mustard sauce was great and the sweet glaze was delicious! The potatoes would have been a lot better if they were smaller to get more of that crust to creamy potato ratio but still okay the way it was. My fiance cleaned this plate up! Brown Butter Cake - This cake was phenomenal! It's hard to mess anything with Brown Butter up so I had really high expectations for this and they certainly did not disappoint. The server was nice enough to throw candles on it since we were celebrating and it really ended our meal on the sweetest note! The restaurant itself is small and cozy. A bit dark and romantic. It really reminded me of the small bistros in France that we frequented while we were out there. We'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

The tables propped up by a large beer keg kinda suck as it's difficult to stretch your legs. Friendly bartender. iPad defaults to a minimum 20%, but that's Portland.
