If you want to wait an hour and half for one waitress to slop around and serve a party of locals before we get coffee and water , this place has really gone downhill! Embarrassing service! We went in at 9:30 and waited until 10:00 for them to bring coffee and take our order, at 10:30 no order yet, a party of four came in after us, got waited on , ate, and got check , still no food, at this point we put money on table for coffee and left. Cups were dirty, and chipped, and coffee was luke warm. No return ! Hire some help that wants to work and not complain because they are the only one waiting on 6 tables! I hope this doesn't offend anybody what I'm going to say, but this is truly to me a "hole in the wall" (if that's proper or should I say it's a real gem in a hidden spot. It's down on Ahtanum (and way out for me in Naches) It was so worth driving out here. The prime rib is the best I've had the baked potatoes were soft and delicious. Our server Lily was super sweet. And I won't get into details about the desert, but order a personal pie à la mode. It takes about 15 minutes, so take your time and enjoy your visit. I wish I had taken pictures of our food but for whatever reason when I went to check in here, it wasn't on Yelp. I had to search for it after we done eating. I grew up going to the ranch house when i was a kid and recently went back with a friend and the food was great the owner is very personable and attentive. I took my family of 11 in today and called ahead to let him know we were coming. When we arrived today our table was ready with waters and silverware. Again, I had a fantastic experience. The food was good, my kids and husband were all happy with their meals and once again the service was fantastic. If you're looking for a good classic mom & pop feel home cooked style meal this is the place for you and best of all its family friendly! Going into big chain restaurants with a large family typically gets poor service.... Not today! I will recommend them in the future for sure! read more

Must have been an off day for them. The 6 oz. sirloin was about 1/4" thick and a little bigger than a poker card. It was charred on the outside and blood red on the inside. I asked for medium not medium rare. The sautéed vegetable portion would fit in the palm of my hand. I asked for mushrooms to top the steak, and there were about five halves that probably came out of a can. The steak was tough, full of gristle and almost impossible to chew. The salad and garlic bread were good. The mixed drink was a bit weak and cost $12, which I thought was overpriced. The waitress was quick and attentive. There was no wait and everyone was very polite and pleasant. Other than that, the owner cooked the meal last time and everything was delicious and cooked to order. The portions were generous and the food was fresh. I'll just chalk this one up as a fluke and plan on returning in a few weeks. It really is nice to have a steakhouse that is reasonable with nice ambience, here in Yakima, even though it's out of town a ways. Steaks are good but out of sight pricey downtown, so I don't mind the drive to Lonestar. Keep up the efforts. The pandemic was rough on everyone and inflation, I know, is out of sight. read more

We just finished a horrible meal there. First they served my husband a spoiled Chardonnay. Then they served him cold potatoes and veggies. My prime rib was thin, over cooked and tasted like a bad sirloin steak. My veggies and au jus were cold as well. When we complained they took a whopping 5.00 off of the bill. Our drinks were mediocre and 12 bucks a piece. We asked to talk to the chef and were told he was the owner and busy cooking. We will never go back! read more

Been coming here over the years whenever we come camping at Ahtanum Recreation Area. Hearty breakfasts are reliably prepared with attentive service that never lets your coffee cup run dry. Was just as good today as I remembered it being last harvest season. Ate at 11 and it kept all four of us going till 4 PM. read more

Took my daughters there on Superbowl Sunday for breakfast. A friend of mine suggested I give it a try. I walked in and place looked clean and there was only two other customers in there. I figured we will be in and out in no time. Yeah right. Let's start with the coffee. Either that was the coffee from the day before or they let that coffee pot run dry and it burt the remaining coffee and they just added water. Needless to say I didn't want a refill. I don't know if the waitress was new or what but she seemed overwhelmed trying to help a total of six people. Finally she takes our order and I ask her that I will need an extra plate to split the meal with the girls. About 20 to 25 minutes later our food shows up. Minus the extra plate. I had to remind her a couple of times. Finally I get it. The food was okay nothing to brag about. Basically it his home made Denys food. I might be willing to give dinner a try there but as for breakfast no. I have worked in restaurants before and when a customer gives you his card to pay for the food bill, I know it doesn't take 10 to 15 minutes to run my card. I walk up to the counter because now I'm in a hurry because the waitress is slow as molasses. I get there and she has all the recites mixed and scattered. Then she tells me I think this one is yours. Well I haven't been here for a while and I used to really like the place. I had the hot open face turkey sandwich. The mashed potatoes where cold. The turkey slices where not cooked. I ate half of the first slice and thought that the turkey seemed a little too chewy. After scraping the gravy off, all the slices where pink. I only ate the bread and did not want the take home box. Modern "ranch" theme was nice walking in. Waitress was nice and mostly on top of our large party, but I feel like she did a lot of "misunderstanding." I bought an extra plate of fries that I did not order even. After getting food, we received cold fries and my husband was way over charged for the add-ons on his burger. They add gratuity for parties over 7 so she got a lot less of tip than we would of normally left. Everyone in our group claimed 'they would never return," sadly, I agree. I had the dinner garden salad while my husband had the steak, and we shared the strawberry cheesecake for dessert. It was delicious, everything was so fresh and cooked perfectly.
