    Monticrisco sandwich.
    Corey W.

Was looking for a place to stop and eat before we headed over the pass. Saw this hole in the wall diner, and decided to check it out. I got the montecristco sandwich, which was very tasty. The fries are the standard diner fries... which while they were technically "nothing special", to me they were perfect. The food was prepared just fine, and the meals for the rest of my party looked tasty and they said it was filling and tasted good. I'm not sure how original and handmade everything was... but that really isn't what places like this are about. It's about side of the road, old school diner food. In a place you can rest, have a cup of coffee, and fill up on food. HUGE thing that will probably get me to stop here again if I'm passing through... all day breakfast! I didn't do that today, but probably next time.

Such a cozy place to have breakfast . I was on shocked when I read the book they have . It was quite and nice

1/2 Chicken Fried steak ( with a delicious side of bacon ).

Hillary was amazing. When we got done, she single handedly and efficiently managed a group of 15, plus a few tables. Our breakfast of Chicken Fried Steak was perfectly seasoned and the portions are hefty - we split one! (see attached).

Cute place nice menu. We are, waiting to eat.

We stopped here because everything near Rimrock was closed. We had the German sausage special breakfast. It was good and hardy.

The old Drift Inn was fabulous with home made everything! Then it closed, but had re-opened. Only some of the food is made from scratch. However, our waitress, Kim or Cleo, was friendly and aimed us to the home made items. I hope they continue to bring back the menu with all items made from scratch. This time, We had chicken noodle soup, which was from scratch, including yummy fat noodles. My husband had the chicken fried steak. He loved it, and thought the country gravy was spot on! I had the prime rib. It was hearty, but a little too meek in seasoning. The quality of the beef was very fresh.

    The kitchen and counter service.

Super good home made food. Best country fried steak. Don't let the size or look of this place fool you, it's awesome.

The owner bakes all the pastries in the case that greets diners first thing inside the door. We saw several people come in just to buy the treats. Small town café open Thursday-Sunday with hot and cold lunch items (Hubs loved his Rueben and our non-meat eating daughter raved about the Grilled Cheese Margarita), burgers, and a wide variety of breakfast items. I had the Crab Stuffed Eggs Benedict that was fantastically delicious. Don't even get me started on the fluffy homemade biscuits with gravy. YUM! Real shredded hashbrowns, too, not the nuggets that seem to be everywhere else. Thick cut French Toast made with homemade raisin bread was heavenly. Server was friendly and prompt, owner came out to chat with us, too. We were a party of six that fit comfortably in a booth. Lots of cute signs and vintage decor. Can't wait to go back!
