Ok, I sort of have to like this place because my friend is a 'member'. This place is totally public, but offers a deal to those who call it home. If you're a weekly player, it's a great deal. You can even get your own fancy private locker! The facility is properly top notch with a great staff and loads of space for the guests. Solid golf carts if you're one of those types that prefers to drive the course - beer coolers onboard and whatnot. The staff has always been attentive and amiable. The course is also well designed to challenge the skilled golfer, but the higher handicaps will also find the course a ton of fun - with the exception of a couple of nasty holes with water in play... Made a brief stop to get a feel for this facility. The innkeeper and pro shop manager were very helpful. With the panache of a once-country club the building houses only one suite and 14 rooms. If already on the Front Range, an in-metro break could be nice. While not necessarily fancy, this would be a satisfactory place to play, grab dinner and stay for a low-key golf experience. read more

Very nice course, that's what earns it the extra couple of stars. Couple of bad notes though, you pay 100$ and they provide coolers with ice but no complimentary waters and we haven't seen the cart girl. Too hot outside in the summer for not access to liquids on the course. Other thing is there's just a bunch of grumpy old men running the golf shop and starter stand. read more

I hadn't been here in YEARS when we stopped by for a drink. My mother used to stay here when she came to visit, because she doesn't like being awakened by small children, or sharing a bathroom with them. Rooms are pleasant, if not luxurious. My mother always had the same room, a large one overlooking the golf course, I think. We went a few times for lunch, dinner, drinks by the bar, or on the patio. Perfectly nice experiences, and no complaints about the food. The patio was packed when we arrived, but we managed to find seats inside. It's basically a suburban clubhouse. Decor is basic. There are no seats at the bars, just table seating. This is weird. Lots of people in golf clothes, unsurprisingly. There was a guitarist playing and singing. Our server, Maddie, was cheerful and friendly. The dirty table was cleared and cleaned quickly, so that we could sit down. The drinks were fine. This bar is more casual than the lobby bar. It's a nice, if perhaps insular, place near the house. I don't remember when the bar closes, but probably not too late. Would return, but in suburban clothes so I don't stand out. It really seems like a local hangout, with the same crowd there all the time. read more

Very beautiful hotel and venue. The rooms are clean and spacious. We enjoyed our stay and celebrating a bridal shower.

The hotel is old, but well kept. The grounds are pretty. As you walk up through the entrance they have beautiful flowers. The hotel is very clean, it has a nice little sitting Library area, a coffee area with seating. The gift shop is small. They have a dinning area with a bar. You can sit inside or out. The food was good. Service is slow. They only gave one lady working the bar outside and one inside working the bar and tables. We get two vouchers for breakfast, but my husband and I sat for 20 minutes without anyone ever asking us for our order. We ended up leaving and had breakfast elsewhere. I'd say don't give vouchers out if you're not going to have enough staff to help guest seated and at the bar. Overall I like the hotel, but wish it had more choices for eating and a bigger gift shop. They do need more help outside at the bar and seating area and the inside other than that the place is nice. read more

Their Marshall here is so rushed. I teed off here at 2:40 with a date and we had a group with us unwilling let the group go in front of us. We are at hole 5 and this Marshall paddy wouldn't leave us alone for the last three holes and she is still following us. We tried to explain that it is not our fault that our joining group is unwilling to go in front of us. I am so stressed out about the rest of 11 holes can't wait to go back to the club house and complaint As per the reply I received, I'd say taking four or five strokes to finish a hole on average is OK. we weren't walking either, we had carts. read more

This hotel inside of a golf country club is a hidden gem (I almost hate to give away the secret)! It's in the middle of a gorgeous safe neighborhood which makes it feel very homey. I loved walking it in the mornings ‍. We were traveling in Covid due to a family tragedy and in a tight spot finding a hotel. The place & staff have such good vibes! Everyone made us feel like family. The rooms are like little condos, with vaulted ceilings, patios, kitchenettes (imp. since we stayed a while) & were SUPER clean without any chemical smells. A+ for the comfy beds too. We were uncertain about how long we needed to stay and Diane was so accommodating - she even bought my husband's favorite tea bags for our room! Really awesome service. The front desk crew Ben, Scott, Fernando, Aeneas, was like seeing good friends every day. And the housekeeping staff even came in and cleaned as needed and helped us stay chemical free. Tip: If you go, ask for a room with a view of the golf course - pretty lights at night. And if you play golf, you can putt on the putting green. Can't wait to go back! read more

The staff are working hard to serve and help you enjoy your patio style dining. The burger and chips are really good and very reasonably priced. The burger is cooked perfectly and very tasty. I came to Lone Tree as a result of a bit of a bummer... Having spent many years in Denver and with my golf-loving Dad still there I make trips out to enjoy a nice long weekend of Golf Golf Golf. Well, this year I wanted to come in late-September (coming on the heels of a May trip) but things got pushed back. The first full weekend of October it was, and our tee-time at The Raven was snowed out. I had really wanted to try a course I've never played and it turned out that there was availability at Lone Tree that Saturday morning. It worked out well. Also, it was a pleasure to play an Arnold Palmer course the year he passed on. I don't know the full history, but I understand that this was originally built as a country club but for some reason, it went off track. Lone Tree is a new-ish Denver Suburb and at the time this was one of the more luxury-oriented neighborhoods. The course it quite nice, and it is a resort lay-out in my mind with very playable holes, good conditioning, and some downright awesome scenery. It may not be as dramatic as Arrowhead, The Ridge or Fossil Trace, but there are some great spots. Going through the first nine there are a lot of good holes. The distance is not torturous and there fairways are pretty ample. If you avoid mistakes there is nothing that will really challenge you until #6, which is a tough par-4 and in my mind is a bit reminiscent of #18 at Bay Hill with much easier looks. (BTW - Dad double-skipped a 3-wood across the lake on his approach, which was awesome to watch.) Both par-3's are nice on the front. Overall, fine. I thought it really took off on the back-9 and there were a lot of super holes. I did think it was odd to start with a par-3, but #10 is a good hole. Everything from #14 on is great. Or #13? Maybe #12, come to think of it. And, since #11 is a fine hole, I guess the entire back-nine is really good. Here's a quick re-cap of the Back-Nine: #10 - Par-3. Mid to long iron approach. Hill on the right of the fairway. Don't miss left. #11 - Long Par-5. Tons of landing area. Nice look back from the green at the foothills. #12 - Cool Par-4 with a big carry on the 2nd shot with water. #13 - Good Par-3. Slight uphill. Big green. Hit it a bit long if you have to miss. #14 - Very good hole. Uphill second shot. Nicely framed by trees and homes. #15 - Signature downhill drive. Awesome view. You don't have to crush it. Just execute on the approach to a shallow green. #16 - Long Par-5. Hard to get home in two. #17 - Another good downhill Par-4. Plays more conventionally that #15. #18 - Good finishing hole. Takes two good shots. Enough room right on the drive to miss, but it will cost you. I'd play here again in a heartbeat. I didn't get a chance to check out the amenities, but I'm sure they were solid. I'd make a point to visit, especially if you can get a nice deal on GolfNow. read more

I stayed at the Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel, south of Denver, for a recent conference. The hotel is small - maybe a dozen rooms, and many of them overlook the golf course. The main building is primarily the club house for the golf course with a large pro shop, bar & grill, and several meeting rooms. Up a flight of stairs and through a privacy door is the hallway for the guest rooms. While it's clunky to walk up the stairs with your luggage and then weed through the hallway and closed door, it does offer a lot of privacy and noise cancellation from the meeting rooms and tables of noisy golfers in the grill. The guest rooms are large - each is a mini-suite with a step-down living room, work space, and bedroom area. Up on the top level is the bathroom, large dressing area, and a wet bar with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee / tea service. My room faced the golf course, and so I was able to make a mug of tea, and sit out on the balcony in the morning. I was able to enjoy my tea and answer some emails while watching the early morning golfers. Our meeting the next morning was held in one of the hotel's conference areas, and they set out a very nice Southwestern-style buffet lunch for everyone. I thought the food was good, and the meeting facilities were very nice. The town of Lone Tree, CO is about 45 min - 1 hour south of the airport, and this looks to be the locals' golf course / country club. The surrounding area has some very nice shopping malls and restaurants, and you're not far from the Denver Tech Center. This hotel is tucked back in to a residential area off the main Interstate, so there's lots of peace and quiet. read more

Staying here in the winter so this won't be based on golfing. It's a quirky hotel with stairs everywhere and even in your rooms. I have a king size bed and a space larger than most studios back in Chicago! The hotel is nice, but could use some updating - flat screens, remove the wallpaper, better lighting, etc... All in all though its a nice place. The conference room is large, next to the golf course bar and pro shop and right behind where the driving range is; why didn't I bring my clubs! I have to come back to try out the links for a more thorough review. However in the mean time I say it's A-OK... Oh and by the way - they aren't closed or else I am in the twilight zone... read more

My husband and I moved to the area a few months ago and have been looking for a course to play on a regular basis. We have absolutely found our home base. My husband is the avid golfer and is meticulous about his game. He appreciates a well-maintained course, in both aesthetics and logistics. Lone Tree is beautifully maintained, including the clubhouse. The staff is magnificent at making sure tee times are punctual and the groups move continually (which is definitely a major issue at other courses we've visited). Staff actively patrols the course to make sure it's clean and groups are moving. We found this especially helpful a few weeks ago when the group in front of us was continually running behind. The staff firmly but politely told them that they needed to arrive at the hole, choose their club, and hit so as to be respectful of the other players. We appreciated that the staff handled this rather than us having to say something to the other group. We also love the restaurant at the clubhouse. The food is good, and the wait staff is phenomenal. They are so attentive and friendly--we really enjoy talking with them when we're there. We've started spending many evenings here where I can enjoy a glass of wine with a nice view while my husband practices at the range. By our second visit, almost all of the staff recognized us and many know us by name. I truly appreciate that their professionalism extends to a hospitality that we really enjoy. I am thorough impressed with Lone Tree Golf Club. It is a beautiful course and property with friendly and professional staff that make you feel welcomed and supported in our love of the game. The roads in Castle Rock shut down due to a snow storm, so we booked to stay at this hotel at 2am. The night staff offered us a late checkout since we arrived late, but evidently didn't communicate with each other. Instead of communicating and making it right with one another, they bothered us the entire morning calling and banging on the door and loud talking at us--then finally kicking us out earlier than the agreed time. The supervisor (Diane) was extremely rude even though we told her and she was aware of the situation and knew who had told us we could leave late. It was unbelievably disrespectful and unnecessary to act that way with a paid customer. I called her back after we left and spoke to her to explain the situation and she didn't offer any discounts or free visits--she was fake apologetic though. We didn't need her apologies, we needed our rest since we had just left a 6 hour delayed flight and couldn't make it home. This is what happens when businesses hire people with zero management skills, promote them to supervisors and managers, and do not ensure they have proper training--they act rude and ignorant in this manner to the people who matters the most...the customers. read more

I can not say enough about our experience with Lone Tree Golf Club & Hotel! My husband & I had a near perfect wedding there & it was all thanks to Angelica & Caroline & Diane & the entire staff. Hotel - Our family & friends stayed at the hotel & raved about the rooms, the free breakfast, the friendliness of the staff, the beauty of the location. The rooms are huge and the price was so reasonable. Wedding Food - The food was amazing! We got more compliments about the quality of the dinner we served. It wasn't your average steak & chicken dinner. It was so much better. Venue - We danced on the back deck all night long! Fireworks over the city were an added bonus, but the weather was gorgeous, the patio for the bar & dancing exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend if you have an event when the weather should be gorgeous to utilize the patio if possible. And last but certainly not least, we got some spectacular photos out on the tennis courts & the golf course! It truly was a night we will always remember & cherish! The woman in the pro shop that checked us in absolutely ruined my round and day by being extremely condescending and judgmental. My boyfriend checked us in and she says "is that one of them?" About me. He responded yes and her response was "You need a collar or sleeves, that's inappropriate golf attire" about my high-neck adidas golf tank. Fair enough, though I've never ever encountered this before, not even at a country club. My real issue was when I joked to try and lighten the mood "good thing I didn't wear what you wanted" to my boyfriend, to which her response was to stare me up and down with disgust and say "you were going to wear something smaller than that?" She made us both extremely uncomfortable and angry and I quit after a few holes because I was so upset. The Starter was also very unfriendly when we asked about a cart and where to go. I tell everyone I come in contact with how nice and clean the rooms are and how wonderful the staff and management are. My biggest takeaway is the crisp, clean-smelling, pressed sheets and comfort knowing we are completely protected in your establishment. They treat everyone equally as if they are the only guests in the place. In response to Heather M, I have stayed in many hotels in my travels and unfortunately had terrible experiences where the rooms were filthy and the front desk staff were cold and uncaring, but Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel is not just a 'hotel'...it offers sooo much more! This review is actually 4.7 stars. I give Lone Tree Hotel a 93% A. I have to go to Denver every month or two. I have usually stayed in the business district of Greenwich Village or I stay downtown. My usual hotel was booked, so I found this gem of a place by accident. Wow! Extremely clean and quiet. Now, keep in mind it's a little odd and dated. The half star is lost because they still use door knob keys and you have to check out in the morning to turn in a metal key. I chuckled. I haven't seen a hotel key since like 1989 maybe? It is dated in the rooms with a little bit of peeling wallpaper and your mom's bed and furniture. Lost a few more points for lower water pressure for my shower. But, totally worth it. Interesting place. So comfortable and nice complimentary breakfast in the restaurant. This will be my new hotel every time I come into town. read more

So frustrating here! Went to eat at the restaurant on thur oct 20th around 3pm, was told they were open until 6pm. When we walked in there was only one table of a few ladies who looked almost done eating. We asked to sit on the patio and the waitress took our drink order. Over 15 minutes later we still had no drinks but she was doing side work. We closed our menu's we even saw her come outside to stock cups and walk off. When I went inside she was rolling silverware. We waited 5 more minutes and walked out! How rediculous. She wasn't busy, she wasn't overwhelmed she could really just give a crap if anyone was gonna eat there! BOO! Not to mention the kitchen was blasting a radio station at mega high boom boom and it was blasting out on the patio. I like a little Alice in Chains too but commercials for 10 minutes!? Not my idea of a relaxing lunch overlooking the golf course. GEESH. Not to mention this is supposed to be a highend place but it is soooo old and out dated. Get the board on some renovations and this place could have potential. Its a great location, beautiful golf course/view, in a very rich neighborhood, has a little hotel, a little restaurant and shop. I'm visiting from Fort Lauderdale and wanted a mountain golf experience. I very much enjoyed this course. It is beautiful and scenic and lots of elevation changes. Quite a change from South Florida. The course was tough but not overly challenging. I played the blue tees and it was not too long at all. Conditions were pristine as well. However, I've never played faster greens before. Holy s#*t!!! They were very slick. I hit a bunch of good putts that just didn't stop rolling out. Lots of undulations too. I had 35 putts! That's a lot for me. Would have been a low 80's round if I putted better. Overall, I'd love to play here again. It's worth the higher price tag. read more

Pros: -Course is in GREAT shape; looks like a country club -Very challenging; you have to stay focussed or else you'll implode on a hole -Extremely quiet and peaceful; love how still it seems on some holes here Cons: -Overpriced! The golf course is enjoyable, but I would never stay at the hotel. David Sheehan, whom I presume to be the clubhouse manager, refused to honor their rate advertised online. He was actually quite rude about it. I got the feeling that he's just an a**hole to people that aren't from the neighborhood. If he feels entitled to treat people that way, it must be a sentiment the entire business shares. I wouldn't expect good service from the hotel business. read more

I have never stayed at the hotel, this is definitely a review on the golf course. The golf course is very picturesque and it is challenging, no doubt. Nonetheless, for the amount of money that people pay to play here, there are a few things that are just bad. 1) The driving range is very small. If you get a busy day and don't get lucky, you can wait for a long time before getting on the range. They are a popular course and need more space on the driving range. 2) Greens were absurdly fast and hard. And this is made even worse by the fact that we've been having thunderstorms and rain pretty much every day the past few weeks. How they were allowed to be this hard and dry speaks to poor maintenance. 3) Pace of play not really enforced. We had to call the pro shop from the course to get a marshall on the course to get the group in front of us to keep up with the pace. 4) There were far too many ground under repair areas and places on the fairway with a lot of dirty showing in many stretches. This is supposed to be one of the nicest and best kept courses in the city, and it certainly did not live up to that to me. 5) Not a great course to walk, and as a guy who likes to walk courses, this is a major negative to me. It is supposed to be a challenging course, but the condition it was in today was terrible. read more

Nice club house. The driving range always seems to be in rough shape. Great putting green and chipping area. The front 9 plays better than the back, it goes under the road and comes back to the club house. The front 9 is nice, the back 9 goes into the neighborhood and through some huge homes. We stayed at the hotel for 1 night after being "walked" by another hotel. This hotel was great it is older however it is very well maintained and the rooms were large. We held an Event at Lone Tree Golf Club in September. Our Event started with an estimate of 50 people including both golfers and reception. The numbers quickly grew from 50 to 105 participants! Bill Ramsey, Lone Tree Golf Club Golf Pro, handled the Golfers in an extremely well organized manner, professionalism and went off on time and even finished early! Bill and his Staff insured the Golf Range went smoothly, the golf course in immaculate shape, and our requested holes have the appropriate markers. Couldn't have asked for a better golf tournament! Caroline Bilodeau, Hospitality Manager Lone Tree Golf and Hotel, organized an AMAZING EVENT! Never bothered Caroline we doubled the number of people. Her Staff were extremely gracious, professional, and insured everyone was happy. To say the food was delicious was an understatement! Everyone commented how delicious the food was!
