I have to leave a one-star review due to 2 egregious violations on my recent visit. First, my barber was NOT observing COVID-19 safety protocols. I sat in the chair and waited a few seconds to give him the opportunity to put on his mask, but after he began cutting my hair I interrupted and asked him to put it on. He did, and I thought that was the end of it - until a few minutes later I saw in the reflection of the mirror that his mask was sitting beneath his nose. I asked him to cover his nose, and he acted as if I asked him to sacrifice his first-born child. He was incredibly rude and acted like it was a major inconvenience to him. He tried to comfort me by saying he tested negative recently, but (and I wish I was making this up) he then said "which is crazy because I haven't even been taking precautions with Covid." Second, this same barber said the word "*aggot" twice in the 25 minutes it took to cut my hair. On another visit a separate barber made a homophobic remark about a lesbian reality show contestant on the show we were watching on one of the TVs there, so this seems to be a pattern here. I get that it's a barbershop, but absolutely NO workplace environment justifies the casual use of derogatory slurs. If you're looking for a barbershop ignoring safety protocols during a global pandemic with barbers that spew homophobic slurs, this is the place for you. read more

I came here for the first time recently. I liked the way the place was decorated inside. Lots of cool stuff to look at. The folks working there were friendly and engaging. Great haircut overall and they used a straight razor around my neck and trimmed up some wild eyebrow hairs. Typical men's haircut is around $18. A little higher than the average local barbershop but worth it in my opinion. Great haircut and supporting local workers and business owners. I will be back. read more

Did not make an appointment. Walk in and quick service for a military style hair cut. They took their time and did not rush. Hair cut is simple but has to be spot on for military service requirements. Recommend for any other military service members who do not want to drive to base. read more

Just made my first visit yesterday - and how could I possibly ruin Lonestar's PERFECT RATING? Couldn't possibly do it! I mean - 15 perfect 5 Star reviews??? I can't be that guy. Oh, and by the way - not only would I NEVER BE "THAT GUY"...but they just so happen to be worth every freakin' star. Plus - how could you hate a place that had "The Goonies" on TV? Walked in around 3pm for a bear trim. Jennifer helped me out. She is awesome - so easy to talk to and we had a blast. Man, let me tell you. As I was researching barber shops around town - it's amazing what some of these places charge for a bear trim! Matador - Diesel - unbelievably expensive. For the prices those places charge - I'd better walk out of there having had dinner and a sexual experience. You walk in to Lonestar- and totally get your moneys worth Jennifer knew exactly what I was looking for .. and understood exactly how to trim my beard so it looked best on my face. But it didn't stop there - she leaned me back and took a straight razor to really clean up my face! I am so impressed with Lonestar - and even though it's a little out of my way - I'll be back. We got the lazy barber. A larger gentlemen that wears a golf hat and glasses. My boyfriend didn't like his fade and kept asking the barber to take more off here and there. My boyfriend also asked for the barber to use scissors for the top. He lazily did so. The barber put gel in my boyfriend's hair and made it look wet. He asked for a blow dry and the barber jokingly said no... but did it again quickly. There was no one waiting, but the barber just seemed very lazy to cut hair at 10:15am. Had the pleasure of having Gerald as my barber today. Gerald was the owner and for my first time coming to this location, he made me feel very welcomed. I asked for a specific style i currently use and gerald was able to give me the requested haircut and gave me information on how to style my hair in a simple but fashioned way. Tuesday's and Wednesday's Lonestar has haircuts for 12$ (must have cash) but on regular days, it cost 16$ which is much cheaper than other barbers I've been to. Great barbers! Flashback to days gone by for the feel you get here. Not pretentious, real barbers, and a comfortable atmosphere. Have you been to those barbershops that are trying to re-create the past? Have you paid the $25-$35 to do so? Not here! For less than 20 bucks you get a solid good haircut from real barbers. Did not really get what I asked for. Requested: low fade. Received: medium to high fade. Requested: trim off the top. Received: trim off the front, doesn't match the top, barely took anything off the top. Requested: beard trim. Received: trimmed a few stragglers off the sides and lined up the upper lip but didn't touch it's length which was kind of the main point. Anyways.....not bashing anyone, but I've been wearing a hat since I left.... Never once faced me toward the mirror. In my experience, when they don't turn you toward the mirror, not even once, it's a bad sign. This visit solidified that theory. read more

About a month ago my dad was ready to go home from rehabilitation for hip replacement and need a haircut. Lonestar Barbershop wasn't far off our path so I called in advance to find out if they had someone that could give a good flat top. I was told to ask for Eddie or Jennifer. When we arrived, a young man eagerly opened the door seeing my Dad approaching with a walker. Everyone was very welcoming and Eddie was soon available for Dad. They kindly assisted him to into the chair and he got a great cut, nice and flat. When we were ready to leave, Eddie went above and beyond by walking us to the car and helping Dad to his seat. If I can give a negative 5 stars I would! These disgusting people have no filter. This establishment is totally unprofessional. My 11 year old and 13 year old told me these guys were talking inappropriately. Using the word hoodrats and all. AND my son's hair looks like crap. Had to tell the guy over and over where to fix it on my 11 year old. The guy who cut my 13 year olds hair was better. But the way they speak in front of kids Is ridiculous you'r at work and don't have no manners. Sad read more

Good old school barber shop. Got a cut and beard trim from Angel. I quickly told him what I wanted and he knew exactly what to do. Good conversation nice honest barbers who know what they are doing. So yesterday we were in the area and my husband wanted to go get his haircut but I didn't want to drive to other side of town so I went on yelp and found this barbershop and saw they offered $12 dollar haircut so I said let go it near by and if they mess up its $12 I know meesed up to say but I did..... so we went in the wait wasn't long they had lucha unleashed on TV very entertaining and I saw how clean and tidy it was and I was watching each one of them as they cut hair and interact with there customers very pleased so far and I can clearly see all 3 barbers know what they are doing ...... so it's the hubby's turn and he gets Bri mind you my husband only speaks Spanish so anytime he goes for a haircut I go with him so I can let them what he want anyways she knew exactly what he wanted after about 30 mins he is done she did a great job very detailed and he loved !!!! It's really hard to find a good barber where I live (South Bend,IN), but when I come home to SA I make it a point to get a nice cute before I leave. I went out of the box and came here based on the Yelp reviews. They were all right! I set up a quick appointment and was seen on time. I must've came on a slower part of the day, but I was glad. The conversation in the shop was classic barbershop talk and very familiar. I liked the environment but, I'm going back for the cuts. I get a "vintage" regulation or undercut, but like the fade to be very gradual, kind of like a high and tight. This takes a while to do and some people just can't even do it. When I explained what I wanted, all I heard was "Alright." Next thing I know, I have an AWESOME haircut, complete with straight razor of the back and sides of my neck. When I get home in a few days, I'm definitely going back! read more

For a haircut that's almost $20 dollars, you'd think they do a great job. Not for me. I've never been to a barber shop where I had to finish my own haircut at home. My barber was very cool but poor in his work. I asked for a high fade, zero on the sides and short on top. My fade was fine but, the zero on the sides was bad. *There was hair still around my ears!* *He also didn't ask what direction I comb my hair and hairs were still long and hanging on my side.* I should've asked to be touched up but, I trusted in his work. I don't normally complain but seriously a place should be consistent with its quality of haircuts. I paid $18 dollars and even tipped my barber. These guys are the real deal. You get a great haircut, a straight razor neck shave and for an affordable price. The shop is inviting and the conversation better. They also carry different pomades for the fella's hair. I bought Suavecito but they also carry others. my barber is been cutting hair for the longest and its a cool old school cat.
