Firstly, the pool is GORGEOUS! They not only installed it well and very quickly, they made sure to spend hours cleaning it before presenting it to us. It was pristine. Secondly, they are reliable beyond belief. Each day they arrived on time to do what needed to be done. We had terrible weather during our project but as soon as it cleared up, they were right there getting the job done. This all is a rare quality among contractors! Thirdly, they are a family owned business and such nice people. I know I can trust them and enjoy talking to them bc they are professional and good. And lastly, they treated our property well. Having done this before, we knew there would be some damage that comes from gravel trucks arriving to the site, excavation, etc but all the wear and tear we experienced was normal and minimal. The guys cleaned up every bit of leftover pieces, trash, and materials. Denis and his team know pools. They charge fair prices, do great work, are earnest and care about the customer. Many issues: -Concrete color is salmon, not tan, even AAA workers have said they don't think it is the color they intended -$10k in damages to asphalt driveway (that we were assured by the owner wouldn't happen because we would start our build in January when the ground is frozen) -Major grading issues that causes pool to flood any time it rains -Project abandoned by Brian in August 2021 -Firepit was thrown off to the side and not incorporated into our design -Poor Quality/Workmanship with concrete: no 90° angles, crooked lines, sharp surface, etc. -Tan fence installed with 3-4 different shades (after wrong fence color against our HOA was delivered) -Backwash line overflows/doesn't drain and is eroding our basement foundation and retaining wall -Not enough characters to continue this list. May 2022: Still waiting on project to be finished/corrected. No urgency because this is their "busy season" and have new pools to install. This is the biggest financial mistake I have ever made. Richard Shaver (owner) sat at my breakfast table and told my husband and I that he would build us a backyard oasis. He talked about God and doing good for people. Haven't heard from him since the day we signed the contract. I would love for him to photograph our project and proudly present it on his social media without using Photoshop. If I could have them dig it up and refund us, I would. May 2025 - still flooding, Richard Shaver is a ghost!!

Our experience with Blue Haven started off well during the sales process, but unfortunately…read moreeverything changed once the contract was signed. Communication became difficult, timelines were not respected, and we were charged additional fees for multiple items that should have been addressed upfront. One situation that was especially disappointing occurred during the concrete phase. A contractor attempted to change the agreed-upon plan because it would have been easier for them, while also requesting additional charges. Not realizing my husband was the homeowner, the contractor stated, "These people have money, we should just charge them more." My husband then informed him that he was in fact the owner. We brought this concern to Nathan and Carrie, but their response did not seem surprised or concerned, which made us feel this type of situation may not be uncommon. We were originally promised the pool would be completed by October, yet the project was not finished until April. There were long periods where little to no progress was made, and crews rarely showed up consistently. Overall, this experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company.

Now, just a few years later, I've been told they no longer sell or service the units. I wasn't expecting it to still be under warranty, but I didn't expect to be completely abandoned either--NO ONE, not even Blue Haven, is willing to service it or even come take a look. The light fell out the first year, there are stains on the plaster, and they took zero responsibility for any of it. My pool has been and continues to be professionally serviced, so this isn't a case of neglect. And when I reach out to other pool companies for help, they won't even touch the system--several have gone out of their way to warn me about Blue Haven's poor reputation, which I now understand all too well. Unfortunately, putting in a pool with Blue Haven might mean enjoying it for one swim--then dealing with years of problems, frustration, and no support. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend them. I'm genuinely worried what else might go wrong.I wish a negative star was allowed.
