I have had braces before, but because I did not wear my clear retainer for the top, and the glue was getting loose on the metal retainer on the bottom. My teeth shifted. So I got them again! Long Beach Ortho worked well with my 8:30-5 work schedule, and staff was always very nice. My check ups were always quick and easy. I only had a couple brackets brake but I would send a quick email and then they'd give me a call to schedule me in as quick as possible for the repair. This time, they gave me those clear retainers for top and bottom so I don't have to worry about the metal wire I got when I was in high school falling off. I've had my braces for over a year now & love Long Beach Orthodontics! They have always been so kind & helpful. I've had a bracket detach twice & both times they were very accommodating & fast on when I could go in to get it fixed. Also they're very flexible with scheduling. I once called because I wouldn't be able to make it at 11 (because of work) & Tina fit me in at 8:45. They always answer their phone & make you feel welcome from day 1. Their office is very clean & they're very efficient. In my 1+ year coming here I would say the average appointment is max 20 min. The whole staff is amazing! We (my son who has the braces and I) have been coming here for two years. Our first visit was great...everyone was kind and helpful and assuaged any fears my son may have had. Dr. Hughes said it would take 24 months to realign his teeth...and here we are, 24 months later, his braces have just come off, and his teeth are legitimately aligned and looking good! Tina, the office manager, is always friendly and efficient; the orthodontic assistants are always pleasant and friendly, and Dr. Hughes is fantastic - has always been straightforward and done everything she can to remedy my son's teeth. And to top off everything, wait time in the waiting room before seeing the doc(s) is negligible. That is amazing and wonderful and such a relief. Finally, the office is lovely. They have made some upgrades over the past couple years, so the waiting area is not at all like a usual orthodontist/dentist office - it's light and airy and relaxing. My son Chase is 8 years old and has been coming to Dr. Lee's office for a little less than 6 months. I cannot believe the improvements that are already showing in the movement of his teeth, bite, and his smile. Before he started he had an underbite, among other issues, but his under bite has already been corrected. It just blows me away. Also, the staff is excellent. Every time we come in for his appointments everyone is so nice and very helpful. There have been a few times where some of his appliances have come loose and needed to be adjusted, and Tina has always been helpful at getting Chase in to be seen quickly. I highly recommend bringing your child here for their Orthodontic needs. I am very happy with Chases progress so far. read more

You will not be disappointed!!! My two sons needed braces. There was no question about it. Their teeth were so bad, people thought we were English. Initially, we went to an orthodontist who wanted to put "pre" braces on my kids teeth and then regular braces later. The next seemed like he wanted me to put a down payment on his new car. Both seemed like a total upsell just to make money. Then a friend recommended that I get an opinion from Dr. Howard Lee and am I glad I did!!! Dr. Lee is compassionate and caring and has always been truthful. From the beginning, he was very clear what was going to be needed and what I was going to be charged. As my insurance did not cover the entire cost (which do?), he allowed me to make very reasonable no-interest payments. Again, nothing hidden and no unneeded extras. During the 18 months of treatment, there was never an issue making appointments, regular or emergency. Think about it, what 16 year old is not going to eat off of the prohibited list and not pop off one of the brackets? After completing the recommended course of treatment, both of my son's now have perfect teeth. In summary, if you are looking for an honest orthodontist who will do a great job on you or your kids, look no further than Dr. Lee, you will not be disappointed.
