This is my 3rd chiropractor I have tried since moving to Seattle, and they are the best! I have been a lifelong chiropractic patient and these doctors are seriously amazing. I see Dr. Lara monthly, and she always listens to me, asks me how I am doing both physically and mentally. She also adjusts my baby and explains everything she is doing to put my husband and I at ease and to teach us some things to do at home (I swear she just cured his cold yesterday). The only constructive critique would be that because they take time to talk to their patients, there can be a substantial wait once in awhile. After a lifetime of back problems, they've worked miracles, and I only wish I'd known about them sooner. I first saw Dr Becky when I had rib out when I was pregnant with my 2nd kid. After just a few sessions, it was dealt with. Amazing. After that, I had chronic hip pain that I had been dealing with for years. I mean YEARS. I had perviously seen a chiropractor, physical therapist, cranial sacral, feldenkries, you name it I probably did it. Nothing helped. I thought I was in for a long life of pain in particular when I rode my horse, which was the saddest part of the deal. But I gotta say, after some time, Dr Becky freakin cured me. Now, every once in awhile, I have pain, I go and see her and BAM! taken care of. A-FREAKIN-MAZING. No, lifetime of weekly or biweekly appts, just a tune up once a month and I'm good to go. Pain free. This clinic is not practicing masking or any other standard COVID safety protocols as required by the state of WA. As a patient of 9 years, I made a complaint expressing my discomfort upon entering the clinic and immediately being within 6 feet of unmasked staff and my doctor (Dr. Becky) never replied. I called my primary care doctor who referred me to the clinic and she said she has had multiple complaints about Long's lack of standard COVID safety protocols in place. She encouraged me to call the Dept of Health, who also confirmed there are multiple complaints again Long's and they are under ongoing investigation. read more

Long Chiropractic is simply the best, hands down, the best!! I have seen other chiropractors in the past and been thoroughly unimpressed, or in a few instances made to feel worse, so when I started seeing Dr. Rebecca Long (over 10 yrs ago now - wow! time really does fly!) I was very pleasantly surprised by her knowledge and skill and very impressed with the results which were achieved. I saw her very often to begin with but once she finally got everything properly aligned I eventually moved to simply once a month, or as needed. When I first started to see her I had a lot of chronic neck and back pain I had been dealing with for many years unsuccessfully using many different treatments and seeing various providers. After one year I was free of pain and feeling better than I had in many, many years! I always appreciated that each treatment was tailored to just what I needed at that time (NOT, the same exact series of cracks and snaps the Chiro gives their client every single visit, and also give to every single one of their clients! I'm sure you know exactly what I am talking about if you have ever seen a chiropractor before!) Long Chiropractic really is different, I only wish I had found them so much sooner! I wasted years on other treatments and other providers. I have recently moved out of the area so unfortunately cannot see Dr. Becky as regularly as I would prefer but make a point to get treated a few times a year when I am back in town. Drs. Lara and Becky are life-savers! They work with you in a respectful and thoughtful way, explaining the course and reasons for their treatments. The type of work they do is much more gentle than manipulation I received from more sports-oriented chiropractors. They've helped me through chronic issues as well as after a car crash. (And they're good with kids too.) They will literally pick you up off the floor in an emergency....and empower you to make long term changes (Pilates, stretches, hiking, swim etc) to augment their care. And, they listen. 3 months ago, I got into a 4 car collision accident on the highway which resulted me in 3 whiplashes on my neck, pain in lowerback and lower leg which was holding the break. Immediately, I went to a chiropractor in Seattle downtown that seemed to be reliable, only to find out that he'd decided to decline giving me service after the first visit because I asked "too many questions." In my profession, I work in the health care setting closely with MD, RNs and MSW's. We promote empathy and compassion as much as physical care in our health care setting. After rejection from this initial chiropractor without any referrals, I was lost, in shock, scared and felt helpless because I did not know how to trust doctors anymore. After struggling for a couple of more weeks in search of a chiropractor who'll actually "listen" to my needs, I called Dr. Long's chiropractor through my colleague's recommendation. First, the reason why I called Dr. Long's office was because of Dr. Becky and Lara's deeply rooted family history of chiropractic practice. Their father is a well-respected chiropractor in Washington for decades, and other family members have been also chiropractors. This family history helped me to take a step toward trust once again. Secondly, I remember even now, my first phone conversation with Dr. Long's office. I shared with the front desk person how vulnerable I am feeling about the doctor's visits. Without judgments, she was completely empathetic in her words and also shared with me that Dr. Long's her own chiropractor even as an employee of the business. Then, Dr. Becky actually picked up a phone call and spoke with me further with compassionate and caring presence about my past chiropractic experience. She acknowledged both my physical and emotional pain; I finally felt heard. I also recall my first meeting with Dr. Lara Long who has been my main chiropractor in this office. I remember the office was quite busy with lots of people walking in and out. I was placed in a quiet examination room. When Dr. Lara Long walked in, I got a sense that she was not only seeing me as a patient/client, but utmost, as a person who needed care, empathy and compassion. With gentleness and understanding, she shared with me her own challenges with medical care system. She shared with me that she also likes to ask questions to the doctors and the patients/clients should feel heard in all their specific questions. She was real and I was seen as a person, which helped me to trust her as a person and as a doctor. This was my first female chiropractor experience. I was curious as to how they'd maneuver a male person's body. Every time Dr. Lara, Becky and Lindsay adjust my neck and my spine, I am surprised by how strong and gentle they can be at the same time. They sure take care of themselves and know how to adjust patients without unnecessary force. I've been seen by all doctors in Long chiropractor and have had such a pleasure walking into their office. Not only the doctors but also the entire staff posit such kind and loving presence to all patients, families as well as to each other. As a new patient, Rebecca (Dr. Becky) will try to get you to sign up for her "corrective plan", which commits you to 2-3 times each week for many months. You will be encouraged to agree to automatic deductions from your checking account. If you balk, you will be shown a "fee reduction table", which suggests that you will save money if you sign up for the "long term". If you can successfully navigate the intense sales pitch, and show up when you want, then you can protect your insurance benefits -- watch out so those benefits don't get sucked up right away. To be fair, Becky provides a good adjustment -- learning the trade from her father. The office is very professional but is geared towards the high throughput of patients. The equipment is in good condition and consists of fixed and automatic tables. Her methods do provide relief from my symptoms. There are no recommendations for specific exercises to do in order to strengthen your muscles -- this is most unfortunate. The place is kid friendly. Just watch out and be cautious of your wallet and of claims that "i can fix that". read more

From my first appointment at Long Chiropractic Center I noticed there was something very different. For starters the initial exam was more thorough than any chiropractic office I have ever experienced. On the day of my 2nd appointment the office was very busy, yet with focus and attentiveness Dr Lara offered me her undivided attention. She explained in depth the details of my examination, delivered new insight into my condition, answered all my questions and listened to my concerns with understanding. At that point I knew I was in the right place. The backstory is that I had already seen 4 other doctors for pain ( chiropractors and an orthopedic surgeon) from an injury that had occurred over a year ago. Ultimately I left those places disheartened. After 8 months of treatment following the initial injury a great deal of my energy was still focused on pain management. One doctor told me to simply increase exercise and another told me that at my age this was " as good as it gets". So after months of lingering pain, a google search led me to try Long Chiropractic Center. By that time I was experiencing increasing symptoms from a fall that happened 15 months prior. In stark contrast to others, Dr Lara offered me a detailed diagnosis based on x-rays, measurements and other tests. The information made sense to me, matched my complaints and with absolute confidence in my body's ability to heal, she mapped out a course of treatment. I left that appointment with hope and renewed confidence. Three months later I know that committing to the treatment plan with Dr Lara was the best decision I could have made. I am still in treatment but am now beginning to experience pain FREE days for the first time in over 18 months. Without hesitation Dr Lara is the most knowledgeable and intuitive chiropractor I have ever met . She gives careful attention and observation to my body at every appointment, she listens to my input and assimilates information to make appropriate changes when necessary. This ebb, flow and attention to detail allows her to work in tune with my body and makes all the difference in the world. The natural warmth and honesty she extends to her patients can only come from a genuine passion for this work. I've also received home supports, instructions and exercises that have never been offered to me by a chiropractor before. These " extras" have been so helpful as I've learned to provide self care and take more of an active role in my healing process. And last I have to mention that the office staff at Long Chiropractic has been kind and patient when accommodating my needs, whether its been scheduling or insurance claims. On occasion I have seen Dr Becky and Dr Lindsay who have also provided excellent care. As noted here by others, it seems that the BIG difference with this team is the shared history of experience, knowledge and innovation, along with the heartfelt inspiration that has passed from one familial generation to the next. I was recently in Seattle WA on an extended trip and I developed back spasms. I was in extreme pain and my daughter suggested I go to her chiropractor, Dr. Becky at the Long Center. I was immediately taken in to be evaluated and cared for. After the first visit I felt some level of relief and after 2 visits I was 100% better. I began seeing Dr. Lara after 28 years of recurring back pain and worsening back "blow-outs". The last "blow-out" had me hobbling around my house in pain for two weeks. These "blow-outs" happened every 9 months on average for 28 years. Since I started seeing Dr. Lara 3.5 years ago, I have not had one blow-out like the ones I had before. I have permanent damage in the form of bone-spurs on my lumbar vertebrae but still the work Dr. Lara has done has changed my life.
