When searching for a doctor of this sort I wanted and herbalist as well and that's how I ended up here. The first person you talk to is her faithful assistant and client who drank the kool aid. She was pleasant and instilled confidence in my decision to go here. Sadly they are closed on Tuesday and Thursdays. You can't be treated on an empty stomach just an fyi. The next thing is that you will get told frankly and honestly about what needs to happen which I appreciate. This was not just a doctors visit it was a learning experience. After talking to the doctor you agree on a treatment plan and you get a nice half hour to chill out while the needles do their thing and the doc mixes up a batch of herbs for you. I was expecting a tea to brew but these were actually a powder. I came in with several issues the most pressing of which would take about 4 months to resolve. But in the meantime I also had an ear ache and soar throat which was treated through acupuncture as well. I felt better at the time then worse when I left also my ear was nicked a bit and had a bloody mark. Took a Claritin when I got home and felt better again. I might have been down for the count but am certain that the acupuncture helped prevent it. Although the goal is overall wellness this is a major commitment both lifestyle and diet not to mention the cost. Ultimately you need to decide what price your willing to pay for health and when and how you wish to achieve it. Sadly after having spent quite a bit of $$$ I realized I'm not at a place in my life where I can commit to this as I ought to. While I would pursue the acupuncture it's quite a far away commute for me.

He kept me at least 15 minutes after my massage…read morewas over, and ran his hands up and down the back side of my body several times without first getting my consent. Consent for touching sensitive areas is ALWAYS established beforehand in a massage. That's number one. In 20 years of massages, I've only had one other person do that, so it's something that in my experience is pretty rare even in relaxation massages, and something I've never had done in a chiropractic massage. When I left, i realized all the rest of the office staff had left me alone in a locked office with him without telling me that would be the case (I was unaware that they closed for a huge chunk in the middle of the day), which is scary--I would never have chosen to be alone with him--and when I got back to my car, I realized that he'd gone way overtime. Massage therapists have two jobs: give massages and pay attention to the time. So the fact that he went overtime that long is pretty odd, and even odder that he didn't ask me if that was okay, and didn't even use that time for the purpose of healing what I went in there for (arm and neck), and instead ran his hands up and down my body and over my butt. This also wasn't stand alone. He also told a story about a sex joke he made (inappropriate), and just had a way of touching me that made me uncomfortable, the kind of thing where you have a bad feeling but you're asking yourself, am I worried for no reason, until you have a reason. Why did he keep me that late knowing no one was around and then do that? Creepy. I can't get this out of my head and I don't want that happening to anyone else. When I reached out to the office, they did want to discuss this over the phone, but the gaslighty opener was "I'm sorry you felt that way about your massage." I didn't feel that way about my massage. I felt that way about what happened AFTER my massage was over. I felt that way about the sketchy circumstances that the massage therapist created. I felt that way because something was wrong. I felt that way because HE DID SOMETHING he shouldn't have done, and that something was NOT a feeling that I had. The chiropractor Angie is good at what she does. Unfortunately, so is the massage therapist. Obviously, I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend that anyone who values their safety do so either. I don't know what their plan is with regard to this therapist. My main concern is that no one else is put in a position like that, and I don't feel confident that they will do enough to protect their patients, given how their initial response completely ignored everything I said except for my concerns about the empty office.

All of this was confirmed on the phone while booking appointment. When I arrived the rate went from $55 to double stating bc of 1.5 year lapse. I would have to restart treatment with an initial first appointment. This could have been addressed over the phone. I get regular adjustments at home but my hip was bothering while on holiday so I called. It's over purpose not money, but I'm not going to be hosed for an adjustment. I consider in my opinion this was a money grab seeing it came out of left field. I chose to leave and not seek treatment. I went to the national group I use in my home state 40min later and was seen with no additional costs than what I would have paid here. I would hope going forward the reception does a better job explaining than just booking appointments.
