Previously, returns were fairly simple, bring in to local Ultra or Kohl's and receive credit, with no fees charged. Now, I am advised even if I return in person to my local Kohl's, I will be charged $8.95 for freight! This is a terrible way to treat customers! Why shop there, when other vendors do not impose this added cost? After years of buying, I am finished. Product quality has deteriorated, and now it seems they disregard the needs of customers.

No one greeted me, no one acknowledged my existence for 15-20 min after I was wandering the store. It's funny because there were A LOT of employees working. Most were just standing around either doing nothing or chatting amongst each other. One of the employees actually said they need to figure out how to get more people to the store. More people in your store won't do anything if your staff doesn't offer to help your in store customers. I asked 2 people for help and neither were helpful. I tried to ask someone if all the sizes were out and with her back turned to me, she barely muttered yes. I would have placed an online order, but decided not to based on my store experience today. Not coming back.

Happy Returns decided that my order was a gift, and so would not allow me to get my money back, only a store credit. (Hello in there - even if it's a gift, if it doesn't fit, someone (the person who paid for it) should be able to get their money back.) Hmm. I call the customer service number. Rep says there's a discrepancy between my billing address and shipping address. I ask what the difference is. My name on one is Margaret M, and just Margaret on the other. My street on one is XXX Ave, and just XXX on the other. It's a pretty stupid system that can't figure out that the bill-to and the ship-to are the same person. Rep tries to start a return, and can only send a UPS label. I've read horror stories about that online, and so I hold on to the items until I can get to a store. I go to the store. No signage indicates that online returns are done at a little desk in the back of the store, but no problem, someone came up and told me where I had to go. Clerk lady tries to start a return, but can't do it, says it has to be sent to Dodgeville. I have to agree to this, there's nothing else she can do. I give her credit, though, she did try to help me. This is way too much to go through to return things. I've been a Lands' End customer, off and on, since the '80s, but no more.

There is something for everyone. Our latest trip took us to Tangled Roots Craft Beer & Kitchen where we enjoyed their brunch menu. Mellody Farm is home to an eclectic group of stores including HomeGoods, J. Crew Factory, Nordstrom Rack, REI Co-op, Verizon, and Whole Foods. There is also a fun vibe here. Their crosswalks have entertaining cartoon and animal characters (see pictures). Mellody Farm is a great shopping center and it comes highly recommended.

As I drove into the shopping center, I thought it was really cute and a great set up. Parking was easy, it had a good vibe, and there's a nice range of shops. I wish I would've had more time to walk around and go shopping, but I was in a rush. I'm sure I'll come back sometime soon.

Buffalo Creek Forest Preserve offers a nice place for a relaxing 1.9 mile hike. There is an option…read moreto go farther by following the various offshoot paths. Parking is very limited off of Old Hicks Road but there are not many people going onto the path so you should be fine. There is a varied turf combination of paved and gravel. The path is pretty even, smooth, well kept and good for all ages We saw what seemed to be a grasshopper migration (9/21/25). We stopped counting after 25! However we did count 7 furry caterpillars crossing the path. There were many species of prairie willow, berry trees, cat tails and a few wild mushrooms too. Lake County is offering a hiking challenge over the next couple months and it's a fun way to see all that Lake County Forest Preserves has to offer!

It is mainly an open prairie with low growing plants and few trees. The walking path winds through wide-open restored prairies and some creeks. I can imagine in the summer it get hot since there is very little covering to offer shade.

The entrance we go to is off Dundee road and i had plenty of parking! The trails are well kept and the trees look great in the summer and even more beautiful in the fall. There are gravel trails and paved trails. We typically use the paved trails. People are very courteous when running or riding bikes. They call out that they are passing which it great for safety reasons. The different birds and sometimes we see deer grazing and it's beautiful to see. Along the path there is a radio controlled area where people can fly their gas powered airplane. It is pretty to cook to see and they are very skilled! It has a runway which looks cool, like it is a mini airport. I highly recommend coming here during the summer for hiking, biking, roller blading, picnics, etc. I'll update pictures for each of the seasons!!!!

There are picnic spots and garbage cans dotted along the drive, and a nice picnic shelter towards the end. If you're looking for nice spots to fish along the river, you should have no problems here as long as there isn't a flood advisory (sometimes the water will go over the bank after a large rainfall or during a big spring melt, but less-so after the dams were modified).
