I had been watching dimpling occurring on the living room wall over the past week and been hearing buzzing, clicking and tapping for a few weeks and I knew it wasn't good! Called our regular Pest control folks and they were too busy to come out right away, which was really upsetting. In fact, they couldn't send anyone for more than a week!! Sunday morning, I looked at the wall and was getting very nervous... it just didn't look right. I managed to get ahold of Steve (the owner) who sensed the urgency in my voice and said he would see what he could do. He called me back and said that none of his workers was available, so HE would drive out to Eaton's Neck!! Steve told us what to do to prep for his visit and said he'd be here in an hour - which he was!! It was pouring rain and he and his wife had weekend plans (she was in his truck, too!), but Steve showed up to pull a HUGE yellow jacket nest out of the wall. The sheetrock had been completely deteriorated by the bees' saliva and he said that we were maybe a day/maybe even hours away from having a swarm of yellow jackets inside the house!! YIKES!!!!!! We are so grateful to Steve and his lovely wife Linda for interrupting their weekend plans to help us out of danger. (My mother is 92 and her 92-year old friend was visiting from Florida, so that's why I was so concerned about everyone's safety.) Even Lulu our rescue dog was greatly relieved! Thanks for the amazing and over-and-above-the-call-of-duty service, Steve - we will share our wonderful experience with everyone!! I never would put a bad review but beware father has no clue what's going on and if father wanted us to continue to be customer he would have followed up Always excuses with Chris and being late! I called Long Island Exterminating in the morning after being given crazy prices from other companies. I was upset and frustrated. I called Long Island exterminating and within 45 minutes Steve was at my door. The nicest man you can ask for. He fixed my issue without taking me to the bank. The following morning I discovered what I thought to be another issue and I called him. He told me what to do on the phone and sure enough it was remedied. I would recommend this company to everyone. The other companies all had me in fear and trying to have me sign a contract. I choose Long Island exterminating because I saw it was a family owned business. I am so happy that I didn't fall into the big business trap. Call Steve if you have any issues. You will not be disappointed. He's a Really nice gentlemen and will do the right thing. read more

After the tragedy of losing our Sunny, dog, our house was was left with sadness and unfortunately a flea problem. Maybe it was from Sunny from the vet or the countless pet stores, my girls and I, went to trying to appease the tragedy we went through. APTIVE came into the picture to help us solve our flea problem. No other pest, BUT fleas. The first time they came, the service person was informed of what we have problems with and still sprayed inside and outside. After he left and a receipt was send to me via email, no where on the list of pest sprayed for did it indicate FLEAS. A call was made to APTIVE, to point out the error, which they never admitted. APTIVE came back to my home TWICE and due to the fact that it was not working. ALL three times they were advised that we were having problems with fleas. Also on the last two times it was asked for them NOT to spray outside since the problem was inside. Subsequently after the THIRD time they came, they made an appointment with NO APPROVAL from me or anyone in the house. They send email and text with regards to the appointment, but they never got a confirmation to the appointment. They came to my house anyway and sprayed outside the house, with no one being at home. A charge of $140 was taking from my account and we subsequently made an appeal. The appeal was denied since they indicated that they sprayed outside. This compay has no ethics or morals or cares to take advantage of their customers. Please beware of this company. BTW... I decided to make this review because of how shady APTIVE is with customers and an email I received yesterday letting me know they had scheduled me AGAIN for another appointment. Matt is a fast talker, and appears friendly!! It would be to your best interest to have in writing exactly what the service covers BEFORE the job is complete. He Indicates he uses a generic spray to rid all small critters, excluding bees rats. He clearly stated the work is guaranteed. Approximately six weeks later, when I saw moving critters, and sent photo he said, "they come from the drain". If I needed him he would come for the quarterly price. He was not open willing to resolves the situation other than me paying another $160.00 six weeks later for "The quarterly". read more
