I've visited this Long Jewelers location on 2 occasions - once to have my watch battery replaced; the second time to have a necklace fixed. The watch I brought in has become sort of an heirloom. It belonged to my maternal uncle, and since he has no children, I was given the watch when he passed away in 2020. Long took a look at it and was able to replace the battery on the spot. I waited maybe 5 minutes, so that transaction was quick and easy. I dealt with 2 employees that day, and both of them were kind, courteous, helpful and 100% professional. That was enough for me to bring in my necklace later on for repair. My necklace was a birthday gift from my mom years ago, but the latch broke, so I wasn't able to wear it without it falling off. The latch broke about a year ago, so I obviously wasn't in a rush to get it fixed. But as I mentioned earlier, Long took care of my watch, so I figured they could fix this. In this situation, the latch was kind of a loss - it would cost more to repair it than replace it. They were able to find an exact duplicate latch for the necklace, and after asking my permission to replace it, they had the necklace ready for me in roughly 2 business days. They called me to let me know it was ready. When I came in, they had me inspect the necklace to confirm I was satisfied, and I paid for that service afterwards. I dealt with a different employee for this transaction, but she was also kind, courteous and professional. I felt like everyone I've encountered at this Long Jewelers location was excellent. I asked my husband to have a garnet set in a 10k w g setting for our 35th anniversary . $499.00 later he picked it up and it was in a plastic baggy. Very unprofessional in my opinion. The underside of the basket is rough and I suppose I will have to have that taken care of. Very poor customer relations.....not my first experience with them. Long Jewelers is a full-service jewelry store and is my go to spot any time I need a watch battery replaced, links taken out of a watch bracelet or jewelry repairs. There is plenty of convenient free parking in the Woodford Square shopping center's huge private lot. The store is neat and clean with a beautiful decor and display cases stocked with beautiful jewelry and fine watches. The staff is always very friendly and professional and prices are surprisingly reasonable. Just last week my wife and I stopped in to have some links removed from her new watch I bought from Amazon. For $6 they removed the links and made us feel like valued customers. We were in and out of the store in five minutes. Fast, friendly and efficient service. I always get the same first rate experience when I get watch batteries replaced here as well. Not everyone is a high dollar jewelry customer but the wonderful staff here always makes you feel welcome whether you are shopping for a diamond tennis bracelet or just getting a watch battery replaced. read more

Been going to Longs for a while now. Most recently went in and was helped by Janet. The whole staff was very nice. Janice helped us thorough every step of finding rings. She patiently walked us through the whole process of finding what we liked and showed us every option and talked us through the entire process, answered every question we had and then some. Do not bring your Rolex to this jeweler, they are dishonest and not capable of performing a proper and Rolex certified overhaul. I brought my Rolex Sub to them for service/repair. They charged me for work that was not completed, replaced an original Rolex crystal with a counterfeit, and lied to me about all of it. Charged me $820 and returned the watch in unwearable condition. I was looking for a jeweler to clean my jewelry and to search for some Diamond earrings for my husband. Little did I know, this place was not it. Beautiful place but staffed with very prejudice people. Me and my sister in law walked in and already felt out of place because of all the eyes on us. I am sorry we do not look like we are made out of money and I am so sorry that our skin color does not look white. While a women did clean our jewelry, we searched around the store. I saw a female employee not busy and walking pass by, as i approached her saying " excuse me ma'am " she simply looked at me and continued to walk away. Right off the bat, I knew what her problem was. Shortly after, we got our cleaned jewelry back and immediately left. I was prepared to buy Diamond earrings but because of how unwelcoming our visit was, this place was not getting a single dime from me. Remember, "Never judge a book by its cover". Us Hispanic/brown/colored (whatever you want to call us) have power and confidence too. After looking around for watch repair on line I figured I'd stop by Long Jewelers because it was close to where I work. It took me a very long time to find the place because it's tucked into a shopping center. So I was already a little bit aggravated by the time I got there. The staff was friendly though, and asked me as soon as I walked in if I needed help. The website stated that they were one of the only shops in the area that did watch repair on site, but of course after I got there and asked it turned out they had to send the watch off to have it repaired. So that was something else that was aggravating. I didn't end up getting the watch fixed there. read more

There was seriously like 8 people in this place, I came in for a watch battery, the girl at the register was very very nice. I watched her ask 4 people that appeared to be doing nothing if they could do the battery, one lady said yea but I need to finish whatever she was doing on the computer....and took her damn time. I stopped into Long Jewelers today to complete the inconvenient task of getting two batteries replaced in my not terribly expensive, but complicated analog/digital watch. Very friendly folks started the process shortly after I entered the store. While I waited for the jeweler on duty to complete the task, Mr. Long came out, shook my hand, and offered to polish my wedding band for free as I waited. It came back to me looking new. What I had not shared with anyone there was that my wife of 34 years died this past January. The band is a connection to her, and the watch was a gift from her. I have always found jewelry stores to be cold and intimidating places. I am grateful for my experience today and will go to Long on Battlefield with any need they could serve in the future. read more

Took my watch in for an external cleaning, they charged me $60 which I thought was fair for a couple hours labor. The problem is they only did the outside of the band and watch face, it appears they never opened the clasp or turned the watch over. I would not recommend them for this service. read more

I will start by saying i have purchased over $ 15,000 dollars worth of jewelry from them before service was ok but not fantastic. I recently have gone into their store to upgrade my wife's diamond in her ring. Not only did they insult me on the price ($1100) for her diamond which was a VVS2 .51 carat color G they only had a .75 carat color H VS2 and wanted to charge $3800 for .24 carats more then her original diamond. So all in all the experience was the worst i have ever dealt with a pawn shop will give you more for your diamond then they will. And BTW I dealt directly with Mr. Long not a sales associate. Hands down, best jewelry shop in Hampton Roads! I had been looking for a jeweler to make a black Australian opal into an engagement ring. Had been told by many other businesses that it was nearly impossible, or if it could be done, was not going to be cheap. Amy was willing to look at all options. In my short time after telling her what I wanted, she had made 2 phone calls, consulted with the other associates, and had pieced together the perfect engagement ring! We were able to put this together in 3 days! I visited 5 or 6 shops and I haven't heard from any of them about building this ring still.
