When I walked in, I was greeted by two sweet dogs, a Frenchie and a lab, and Olivia (the human lol). I showed Olivia the necklace and explained that I wanted it permanently closed. She handled it so gently and let me know she needed to show it to the head jeweler to discuss pricing. About five minutes later, she came back with the necklace perfectly sealed. The work was flawless. No sloppy welding marks, no visible damage, and no difference in the bar at all. Just precision and care. Then she told me there would be no charge. I honestly had to rush out before I started crying in the middle of the store. Olivia, thank you. You have no idea how much your kindness meant to me today or how much comfort you gave me in helping preserve my mother's memory. I won't forget it. I was upfront that I wanted to trade it in toward a new ring for my fiancée and even mentioned I had a 1 kg silver bar to bundle. They offered me $500 for the entire ring. When I pushed back (politely at first), they blamed the J color and some inclusions -- the same stone that was good enough for a $5,860 retail appraisal just a few years ago. $500 is not even close to fair market value for a certified 1.20ct natural diamond in a 14k two-tone setting. I walked away immediately. I understand businesses need margin, but this felt like a pure lowball tactic. If you're thinking of selling or trading jewelry here, be prepared to get insulted on value. The selection in the store looked decent, but after this experience I won't be back and can't recommend them for buying or selling.

Long Jewelers was very prompt in providing a quote which I appreciated. I was interested in the cherub angel ring, which is actually discontinued now, but Steven Douglas himself created my ring from his archives. I was pleased with Haley at the jewelry store who I worked with via email. The ring took a little bit over six weeks to create due to the Garnet needing to be sourced. It was well worth the wait and even more beautiful than I could have imagined. An appraisal was even provided. I have been wanting this ring for probably 15 years. Over the years, I've noticed it's becoming harder and harder to find, so this was the year I decided to splurge. This particular ring is available in sterling, silver, and also solid gold with the heart being solid gold as well. What made me fall in love with this ring is the contrast of the white gold crown with diamonds and also the beautiful deep cabochon Garnet heart that really makes the ring so special and unforgettable. I thank everyone at Long jewelers who assisted in obtaining this gorgeous ring for me and also, I will tell you that I quoted this ring from several jewelry stores and Long Jewelers - Virginia beat everyone else's price.The ring is by no means inexpensive, so it pays to shop around, and there are only so many Steven Douglas dealers who can provide this beautiful ring.
