We hit the drive thru as we saw this place - paired with a KFC? Ok. We decided to order a two piece fish combo with hush puppies and a Diet Coke (not Pepsi? Horrors!). We ordered two additional pieces of fish along with some tartar sauce. We had the dog with us so ate in the car in the parking lot. But the LJS menu was really limited to fish and chicken - the drink came in a KFC cup, we got KFC sporks, and the bag was KFC. Not hard to tell which restaurant held the upper hand at this location! Taste - the hush puppies were hot but definitely oily. The fish breading was ok - and crispy- but oily too. If fried in hot enough oils and drained properly I think would have tasted heaps better! It was what I expected for a fast-food fish and chicken place. It's kinda funny that people review LJS like they were expecting a gourmet seafood dining experience. It's deep fried fish, shrimp, and chicken. It's what you would think it would be. When we went, service was quick and the tables/floor were clean. Soda machine was working fine. The only thing that is somewhat annoying (and not unique to here) is that you have to ask for iced tea, which given that staff doesn't seem to check on the front counter unless someone enters the store, can sometimes take a bit of time. I'm shocked this location gets bad reviews. We stopped to get the $6 chicken basket. It was WELL WORTH the price! 2 large pieces of perfectly cooked fresh chicken. 2 crispy hushpuppies, and a ton of fries for SIX dollars! We shared it , and we were both very satisfied. We were recently on a roadtrip in this area, and went through this Long John Silver's drive-thru for my husband. We don't have Long John Silver's where we live, so whenever we see one on the road, we swing through for the hubbs, the seafood enthusiast in our fam'. He ordered the #1 Fish Filet combo, with a side of shrimp and an extra order of hush puppies. Drive-thru service was fast, our order was served up hot and accurate, and the window clerk was very friendly and attentive. My husband enjoyed his Long John Silver's treat. The only complaint is this particular location didn't carry the vegan fish option, which our vegan daughter would have liked to try. Otherwise, no complaints from us here. read more

Do not go to this location in Morris! I showed up at Long John Silver's at 10:45 in the morning and they ran out of fish and shrimp?! And then when I ask the girl for extra crumbs, she tells me yes we filled up your box with extra crispy's, lies straight to my face and I get home and not one crumb in there. I only come here for KFC. It gets two stars because this location is terrible about having chicken. They almost always are limited and they won't cook more. You always wait 5 minutes for tenders tenders. It's not a surprise the place is always empty. If you really want chicken. I'd recommend somewhere else that has it together. I ordered fish. It was so greasy. I picked it up with napkins and they were soaked with grease. My family always loved to eat at Long John Silver's when I was growing up but this was just awful. The hush puppies are different. They used to be so flavorful. These were just a lump of fried dough. I won't be going back to this location. read more

October 6 2019 I ordered food thru the drive thru. The young man that took my order was very professional and polite.....but their was a African American woman that took one look at me and gave a look that she was repulsed and their was a African American man laughing as they were looking at me......I suppose they were laughing at the chemical Burns & distortion on my face......I just want you to know .....I'm a little more comfortable with my appearance than someone else you might serve in the future that's suffering from a distortion or handicap. You have no idea what someone is going through when you serve them .......and I only pray that nobody else has to be treated as I was when I purchased a order on this day. Friendly employees, food was cooked fresh and tasty. Several dirty tables, but it was 6pm and the drive thru was very busy. Manager on duty was very nice and apologized for the wait on fresh fries (not going to complain about fresh fries!). read more

Got great coupon in Tribune this morning, Long John Silvers, buy one meal get one free. Decided to try it for lunch. Server didn't seem to want to honor the coupon. Told her it was in Tribune, probably should have brought the paper. She he hawd around and finally after telling they had no crab cakes which I wanted. They explained they had platters which we said ok, chose what we wanted. They then said $12.96. At which point I reminded her we were suppose to get one free. She said yes. I decided to go elsewhere. Went to another restaurant where we got 2 great burgers with fries, 1 beer and 1 soft drink for little over 15.00. No more coupons if you are not willing to honor them. No way to attract business.
