The fish is fresh, cleaned, hand breaded, and fried on site. They have used the same type of frying oil, same recipes for the cole slaw, and same vendor to supply their fries FOREVER because the regulars would REVOLT if they changes it up. We went on a Friday around 3 pm. Plenty of ample seating and parking. BUT as we left- it was definitely getting busier. They seem to do a really good takeout business as well. This fish fry is year round! Restaurant and bathrooms are clean. All the staff we interacted with were super friendly and very hospitable. Hubby and I split a 3 piece cod meal and added a piece of walleye. We also subbed out the fries for a baked potato. Our meal came with a small container of cole slaw AND two pieces of white bread. I miss white bread. Would definitely come again.

I think great service made the experience a good one. We ordered the Bear breakfast combo and picked two scrambled eggs, steak and cinnamon roll French toast. My husband got coffee and water and I got the freshly squeezed orange juice and water. The eggs were overdone and cold and the steak was a bit hard. They had a trio of bear sauces and my favorite was the chipotle bear sauce. The experience was great but I think the things I mentioned can improve.

A lot of places use Goya Adobo but thats pure salt with no taste. Criolla Adobo is good on all meats & gives it a great taste. If you're gonna grill it.....season with Adobo & put in a zip lock bag over night with vinegar.....& oh emm geee.....the most tender, flavorful skirt steak!!! I've even left 'em seasoning for 3 days...& thats even better & more tender.

One of us got delicious fries, the other a Caesar salad. The Reuben was fine, though a little dry in spots. I'd imagine that's not ordered that often, so I always give a bit of dryness a pass. It was, however, stacked high. My wife said the Cuban was good as well. Prices were a bit high, but acceptable. The shrimp are the same they give you 2 tablespoons of coleslaw and a baked potato, that is not much bigger than an egg. it was the smallest baked potato. I think I have ever seen. Although the fish fry was not worth the money, $19 for fish and shrimp it did taste good however. When it comes to fish fry, I think I will stay with the town tap down the street, which by the way they serve every Friday starting at lunchtime. The VFW in the bar area is very loud and crowded.
