I love the little hush puppies. If you're craving some tasty and fried fish look no farther. I know it's fast food but sometimes you just have to have it. People are friendly enough but they cant get an order right to save their lives. If they're not leaving something off your order, they tell you that its all there, look you straight in the face when you specifically ask them then GUESS WHAT . . . ITS NOT. I went inside yesterday, 1/28/26, around 2pm to get some food and to pass some time with my kids. Larry assisted me at the register. He was very friendly and helpful. Made my stop a lot easier. Messed up an order three times in a row. The manager also said that the amount of tartar sauce we wanted was a lot. When we had to reorder AGAIN they said they were out of tartar sauce. Like how petty is that. Long John's being out of tartar is like Taco Bell being out of hot sauce. Petty and rude. Can't read receipts. read more

I'm wondering why there isn't many of these store anymore. I have to admit I was disappointed because they didn't have any chicken, shrimp, nor hush puppies. No sweet tea up front and when the lady got some from the back her and the lady working the windows got into an argument. The fish wasn't bad and we got two extra pieces of fish in place of the hush puppies so it wasn't too bad. I do think it could improve if they would get a better employees. Customer service is really horrendous. The employees were so rude when greated at the speaker. No "hi" "hello" "thanks for choosing LJS" nothing. All I got was "order when you're ready" with an attitude. That was the first red flag. Then, I get home to eat my food, and I didn't even get what I ordered. I received shrimp instead of chicken, and I cannot eat shrimp. It's okay if it touches other food, but to eat it, I will get sick. That was the second red flag. THEN, I called the store when I saw shrimp, and no one picked up. I called a SECOND time, and the man who picked up, was rude over the phone. It's no wonder why there's not many of these places anymore, and no wonder why the place isn't normally very busy any time I go by. I should have listened to myself, because any time I go in, to pick up orders for deliveries, the employees are rude, or they just stare at me, and don't say anything. DO NOT ORDER THROUGH DOOR DASH!!! They will deliver it over 30min later than you expect and then it will be cold, soggy and inedible and door dash will not help you at all. Just go there yourself if you want some quick seafood fix. Delivery was more of a hassle and ruined the food while getting basically robbed. read more

This was one of the worst fast food experiences I've ever had. Ordered two fish filets which weren't too bad, but also ordered a shrimp basket. The six shrimp were undercooked and tiny. Also ordered waffle fries (undercooked and no salt, a side of fried clams (overcooked and a minuscule portion, barely the size of my palm) and no strips, just crumbs.) Cole slaw also sucked. The only items which were any good at all were the hush puppies. Finally, no condiments were included. No cocktail sauce, no tartar sauce. Seriously???? I could eat fish practically every day of the week, but not from Long John Silver. I think they kept the oil from before the fire burnt down their place and are still using it. They were the greasiest slimiest shrimp I ever eaten. I ended up peeling off all the unknown batter covering the shrimp and just eating the shrimp and even the shrimp wasn't very tasty. I was sad too because like I say I love fish and this just didn't cut it. Also, I got coleslaw and I know it's kind of weird. They put it all in one box that made my coleslaw slaw warm because it was next to the deep fried shrimp and the hot corn so even though the slaw was good it was warm, which is the best temperature for slaw.I want to go and try them because everybody's been raving about it, but I won't go back if I want shrimp or any kind of fish I'll just make it at home . read more

Horrible customer service!! When you order a family meal and then ask for a side clams... they say you can't do that when clearly it shows clams as an "Add On!" Then trying to talk to the lady through the drive-thru was very difficult. She would cut you off and then when you would ask her a questions about the menu, she was very rude and short!! So at the end of it all, we decided to cancel our order and leave! I would not recommend this place whatsoever! read more

The food was good and the service was friendly. If you're in the mood for a basket of fried goodies, this the place. This location has been open for years and needs and update badly but it's clean. My main complaint was that they charge you to use your debit/credit card and do not tell you. My receipt for my food and the receipt for my actual charges were different because of this charge. I visited this location. I asked what the specials were and the girl who was new told me some items. The item we chose was a fish dinner for $6.99. I was not told that this dinner was the same as the fish and more for $3.99. This meal was not mentioned. We ordered and paid for our meal. While at our table looked outside and there was banner with $3.99. It was the same dinner we paid $6.99. So I asked about the special that she failed to tell me about when I asked before our order. Because she was new she asked someone else. They said you have to ask for it. I said I asked for the specials and was not told about this. They did not offer to refund the difference. We love this place and always eat lunch there when we go to Scott & White doctors. The service is great. The place is clean and the food is just what you want if you love fried fish like we do. The cole slaw is the best I have eaten. The fish is never fishy tasting. The hush puppies and fries are not the best, but that is not why I go.
