Pretty good rolls and chicken sandwich. My husband loved the Dallas filet. Cons: you can't order more than one drink. If you have one in front of you they decline even ordering you another even though the bar takes forever. Also, make the condiments more accessible. I always ask for them when ordering. 2 may be a tad bit unfair... but my experiences with roadhouse in various locations has almost always been GREAT! great food, friendly servers, consistency, any problems promptly attended to. but i have to say, this was the most lackluster experience i've ever had at roadhouse. we were arriving at 8:45 on a tuesday, they close @10, but we knew what we wanted and we would be out by 9:30 more than likely. road trip, pouring down rain, we were hungry & ready to stop. "greeter" looked and sounded annoyed when we came in, our table for 2 was countered with, "you can sit in the bar". i know they need to clean, but its an hour til closing. so we declined and asked for a table. hostess appeared confused, and we were too, after some back and forth, she grabbed silverware and took us to a table. no rolls server was prompt & brought drinks and took our order. we asked about rolls and were told "IF any came up he'd bring some". awhile later he brought out some that were hard, dark & obviously reheated - not good. food came out, medium steak was well done, but we decided to roll with it due to time. top to bottom the worst meal ever at a roadhouse - steak was on us though since we opted to keep it. server at least looked like he was trying. he did bring out fresh rolls towards end of our meal. i know we arrived towards end of day, but it never occurred to me that roadhouse wasnt up to the challenge. so maybe 2 stars is a bit harsh, but thats all our experience rated. read more

We went to lunch March 28 about 2:00. The restaurant was pretty crowded and was seated in back. The Server finally comes over and opens a bundle of napkins, plops them on our table and says he needs to fill napkin holder. after he finished we were able to order drinks a Merlot and a Chardonnay. He then asks if thats red or white so we explained that Merlot was red and Chardonay was white, he had no clue. We were kinda taken aback that a server did not know this especially at a Steak house. I nicely say you may want to brush up on that, he didn't like that and explained he thought Merlot was a brand. By this time i just wanted out of this restaurant. We decided not to order lunch but just wings and the drinks to be polite. Wings show up but still no drinks. He finally comes over and asks how the wings are, we say fine but still no drinks. We placed our order and was set for the night! They brought out our salads right away. They were fresh and really good. Love the homemade dressings. We had Side Salads and A bowl of Chili. Our meals were: 23 oz. Porterhouse T-Bone, Side Salad, Chili. 6 oz Dallas Filet with Shrimp, Side Salad and Mashed Potatoes. 14 oz Ft. Worth Ribeye, Caesar Salad, and Steak Fries. 16 oz Ft. Worth Ribeye, Side Salad, and Green Beans. Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries. Grilled Chicken Salad with Ranch. All the food was cooked to order and served hot and fresh. We had a great time. I ordered two appetizers --fried pickles and a sampler platter, and a dozen rolls with cinnamon butter to go at 7:50pm on a Saturday. I always pay in advance, and include a 15% tip --even though I walk up to the window to get my food and all they do is bag it. I understand it was a Saturday night, and they were packed inside, and the app told me the food would be ready at 8:30. No problem. I get to the restaurant and park in a to-go spot at 8:05, way early. I sat and doom scrolled on my phone until 8:20 or so. I check in by typing HERE, like the automated text instructed. I get a message the food isn't ready yet and I'd get a text when it's ready. Again, no problem. I sit there continuing to doom scroll and next thing I knew it was 8:41 and I still haven't gotten a text. I didn't order any steak or anything that would take a while. Just appetizers and bread. So WTH? I go to the window and I wait a whole minute for the girl to open it up, and I said my order was supposed to have been ready 11 minutes before. She looks all scared like I'm going to reach through the window and strangle her. I'm just annoyed at this point. She goes and grabs a few tickets from the printer, still attached to each other and asks her coworkers where my order is. They're all shrugging and clueless --and it's obvious they were shooting the shit and enjoying doing nothing while the dining room was a madhouse. The girl said they hadn't been in the kitchen for a while. I said would you please go check. She brings out this severely warped styrofoam container with the fried pickles in it, and the sampler platter slightly warm in the plastic container. I took the boxes and examined them and said they looked like they'd been sitting under the heat lamp for at least 15 minutes. I asked for them to be re-made. I waited patiently, watching a little boy playing on the walkways with matchbox cars and river rocks and smiling, in awe of young children and how they can be entertained so easily. 5-8 minutes later she opens the window. She's about to pack the same severely warped styrofoam box with the fried pickles in it, and likely the sampler in the same box. All I look at is the pickles and they looked greasier so it was obvious they were fresh. I said ok fine, box it up. I was tired of waiting by that point. My daughter and I get home at 9:15. THAT IS WHEN I GET THE FREAKING TEXT THAT MY ORDER WAS READY. We unpack the food. The rolls are cold (ok, they can be reheated). The box with the rolls in it had somebody else's name on it and scratched out with my name written below. The times on the box were changed three times . My daughter's fried pickles were fine. But she didn't get the Cajun horseradish I requested for them. My sampler platter actually had potato skins in the first batch, but the second time I got steak fries covered in cheese and bacon instead. What the actual f&ck?! The boneless wings were not even close to freshly cooked. They told me the kitchen manager said he or she remade it. It was pathetic. The manager should have come out to apologize. I also didn't get the two sides of blue cheese I ordered. All I got was ranch. I've had issues with the service at this restaurant before, but this takes the cake. Absolutely appalling. So sick of this crappy town and all the crappy customer service. This economy is shit, and the food is way more expensive than it should be in the first place. No more advanced tips. I have not been to a Texas Roadhouse since before the pandemic, and let me say I'm glad I chose this one to go to! I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese, and my sister got the ribs, along with loaded Mac and some loaded fries. Everything was delicious, the chicken was a bit salty, but I blame the gravy. The best part of the visit was our waitress, Sarah! Great service and friendly staff. Caesar salad had too much dressing, I wish I ordered it on the side. The salmon was surprising good. The tartar sauce was not needed. The plate was a bit small. The rolls were not warm, which was disappointing, but it was chilly in the restaurant, so maybe they got cold fast. I warmed up the leftovers at home the next day and it was yummy! I ordered a baked potato loaded with no bacon and I received one with bacon. A 2nd person brought me a 2nd with no bacon to fix the problem. 5 stars on service! It was 20 minutes before our water and tea arrived, 45 minutes for beer and a margarita. Our food arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes after ordered. The steaks and salmon were all overcooked but we could not wait on replacements. We had also placed an order to go that we never got, after 1 hr 45 minutes. We left w/o the to go order, they gave us a VOUCHER for it since we'd already paid our bill. We will NEVER go there again, so a lot of good the voucher will be. This was my first time at Texas Roadhouse, and it was a unique cultural experience. I would absolutely take my foreign exchange student friends here to get a Texan experience. I came here for a friend's birthday dinner, and they didn't allow us to be seated until our full party arrived. The food is what I imagined it to be--tasty and unhealthy. The unlimited bread rolls with cinnamon butter were heavenly. I had the chicken critter salad, which was a salad with CHICKEN TENDERS. It was so good. I told the waiter it was our friend's birthday, and they had him wave his napkin around like a lasso while we sang happy birthday. Came on a Monday night for dinner, they didn't look too busy and we were seated immediately. However, walking inside, a hostess opened the doors for us; I said "hello" and smiled to her; her response was "how many" with no smile or greeting. There were about 6-8 women at the hostess stand; none of them greeted us politely and they all seemed to be annoyed or inconvenienced. All of them walking around us and in front of us, back and forth. I had no idea what the issue was. Walking to our table there were servers walking around everywhere and they seemed to be flustered or in a dire hurry of some sort. Very annoying to have the smallest walkways crowded with everyone. We sat towards the back of the restaurant and once again, encountered servers clustered at a register/computer. None of them wanted to move out of our way so we could walk to the table, none of them seemed happy to be there. The staff came off as rude; my waitress Jayla was nice. The food was incredibly mediocre. Cheese fries were heated in the microwave as the cheese didn't even stick to the fries, which were cold and gross. We go to the Texas Roadhouse frequently and it's always great food, cooked perfectly salads are great with everything you would want in it, eggs, tomatoes the works. Baked potatoes are always cooked perfectly the sweet potatoes with the cinnamon butter is excellent. The rolls are homemade and fresh out of the oven when you arrive. Always do the on line check in it could save you allot of wait time. Wait staff is fast friendly and accommodating never having to wait for anything. Update Jan 2025 Roadhouse is still in the take out rotation for us. I have adjusted to the outside pick up windows and accept checking my orders before leaving. There have been some hiccups with some orders still but the staff works hard to assure a good experience. What keeps us coming back is the quality of the food plus the take out is ready exactly when they tell you it will be ready. The quality is very consistent. Ask for Peanuts! read more

Visiting Texas and looking for BBQ can sometimes be tricky on a Monday evening as many places are closed? We found Texas Roadhouse open, as well as several locations as we made our way from Austin to Dallas on the I35. We chose the one in Temple for a variety of reasons: distance from Interstate, convenience to meet up with friends. This was not our first visit to this chain, so the gracious southern hospitality with which we were greeted at the door was not surprising. We were seated right away, and provided with a basket of their delicious rolls and whipped honey butter. More please. Our server, Serenia, was friendly and took our drinks and appetiser order promptly. We opted for the riblets and found the sauce spicy sweet just like we prefer. I opted for the steak kabob with vegetables, and a Caesar salad. My husband chose the pulled pork sandwich which he looked to have enjoyed from his empty plate. The food arrived in a good amount of time, with the salad first and we enjoyed the rolls TR is famous for. Unfortunately my steak was not tender, and the vinegary taste of the marinade I found to be quite overpowering. As I inquired and was told that the marinade is a vinegar base. After I applied some sweet BBQ sauce Serenia was kind enough to provide the flavors balanced out quite well. The vegetables were crunchy and cooked to my liking. They offset the less than tender steak. We were aware of the impending storm brewing outside along with thunder and lightening, and when the lights went out the second time, and remained out as we were paying our bill online we became acutely aware of the nature of Texas storms. Interesting to note the restaurant did not have significant emergency lighting so we stayed put at our table and waited to see if their systems would reboot so we could finish paying our bill. I did observe and hear the kitchen staff attempting to clean by flashlight and cell phone lighting which I found interesting. After several table-side visits from our server and the manager we had no other options to pay as the online app had no Wifi connection. We needed to get on the road so we ventured to the cashier, where lots of staff were congregating where there was at least some light. We were told, "You know what we are going to do, we are going to comp your meal." "Yes, thank you" I replied emphatically, and I got our servers name as we wanted to send her a tip. She initially said, "No", but I insisted as especially in light of unforeseen events I told her she had handled things quite well. We were wished a safe journey, and we made our way outside into the rain and lightening. Just as a side note: providentially the timing of our visit to the Temple Texas Roadhouse made it possible for us to avoid the tornado which later swept across the I35 an hour after our departure just 20 miles south of where we had found ourselves earlier at the restaurant. This Texas Roadhouse location has decent service and food whenever you make it to your table. The issue is not wait times - those are universal at Texas Roadhouse. The issue is that they require your entire party, regardless of size, to physically stand in a 9 square foot holding spot and wait 20+ minutes for the table they called you for to be ready. This location places their internal measure of quality (lowest possible table turnover times) far above external measures of quality (customer experience). This is purely an issue with management. Every other major restaurant has figured out how to hold guests for their table - only Texas Roadhouse seems lost on the concept. read more

I'd like to start by saying our waitresses were phenomenal and they did right by us, and I'm sure those cooks were working hard and the bussers definitely were too. My little sister graduated from college today and she had her heart set on having her celebration dinner at Texas Roadhouse. 13 of us flew in from all across the country for her, and this was our special night with her, so whatever she wanted that's what we were going to do. Well They don't take reservations, just "waitlist". So I called at 5:30pm right after grad and requested to join the waitlist for a group of 15 and said we would be there at 7, I was told to checkin at the hostess desk when we got there and to ask for Mikaela so she could make sure we got the best service. Our whole party was there by 6:30, I went in and asked for Mikaela and said our whole party was here and was told it would be a 40 minute wait and "the person she spoke too on the phone said 7:30"... I clearly said 7pm, and I was being generous with that time, that was an hour and a half notice. Not happy, but fine, since we were early. My sister was okay with the wait, so we waited. And we waited. And waited. For an hour and 45 minutes, we waited, and watched groups of 6,7,8,9,10,11,12 people get seated, eat, and leave. We were going to leave, but frankly I think that's what they wanted. We only finally got seated after we asked them to split us up if that was what it was going to take. The manager copped an attitude and honestly probably shouldn't be in that role. Our waitress sat us, and our tables were clear across the room from each other, so she asked to move us to one closer when it was free but I heard her get told "oh no that's reserved for the party of 21". That's interesting - making accommodations at their discretion apparently since they don't take reservations. She ended up moving us anyways so we could be close together and I later saw her crying, she was telling a peer that she had been yelled at for moving us and taking the table reserved for the party of 21. I didn't see her again, poor thing, and we got a new waitress - she was also lovely and pleasant and attentive and kept the rolls coming for our grad. Food was okay, nothing to write home about, salads didn't come out and cooked veggies were raw- but my sister was happy with her meal and that's what mattered to us. The assistant GM stopped by one of our tables and asked how everything was, we gave her our honest feedback about our disappointment and she was supposedly going to tell the GM but we never saw him. $500 bill and $150 in tips - but not worth anyone's time. On Valentine's Day you might expect the service to take a while. A packed lobby, people standing and having to park along the last rows are tell tale signs. Our experience was on the contrary! Upon arriving we were sat within 15 minutes. Their employees were like a greeting entourage. They were staffed to meet the needs of their customers that day. We were surprised not to see any peanut shells on the floor; unlike Riverside, CA. Their floor was uncrunchable. That doesn't take away from anything though. When you don't know who to take on a date with you, just go as a family. That's exactly how we did it. Ordered up and everything was mouthwatering savory! We left fully satisfied. Ordered through the mobile app our food came out at 6:05 we were promised 6 no biggie. I ordered a extra side of green beans we only got two instead of three. After working for a roadhouse for a year and a half I'm pretty sure my filet was actually a sirloin because it was damn near impossible to cut. The steak was burned on the outside and rare on the inside (ordered med rare but it was cold) my loaded mash didn't have sour cream and we got butter but no rolls :( ( our favorite part) I was really looking forward to this meal but it sucker couldn't even eat half of my steak. Every single experience we have ever had at a Texas Roadhouse, whether in Austin, Round Rock, El Paso (best steak ever), Milwaukee, Nashua NH and other places has been excellent. Until, we came to the Roadhouse in Temple, TX around 5:40pm 12/17 not too busy. We were a party of 9 including to children under 10. We were told that it would be 15-25 mins which is fine. 1 hour and 20 minutes later we were seated. My wife asked the young lady 3 times how much longer and her reply every time was 15-25 minutes. Meanwhile we easily saw more than 100 people on the low side get seated. Parties of 5-7 would arrive and get seated immediately (granted we were counting). My wife then asked the Manger her name is Angelique or Angelika not sure. This lady told my wife if we did not want to wait we could go elsewhere after already being an hour into the wait (What gull and she is a manger, I hope you fix that). Not sure how many people would feel about this treatment but we certainly did not like it. We were there to celebrate a birthday we came from Round Rock, Georgetown and Temple. The food was ok but my steak was super dry and my stepson's steak was so salty that he took two bites and did not eat anymore (it was comped). At no time did Angelique the Manger apologize for the inconvenience or assume responsibility for the mishap. We went with friends yesterday to celebrate the sacrifices of the men and women of the armed forces who died to protect our nation and its interests. Everything was good, as usual, except the gravy on the 'country fried steak'. I'm not sure what kind of gravy it is supposed to be, but it isn't white gravy as we have it in Texas. White gravy isn't supposed to be sweet and salty. Flour, bacon grease, salt, pepper, and some milk (sometimes cut with a bit of water). That's it, nothing more. Don't yankeefy it with rosemary or anything else. This really ruined the entire plate. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. This restaurant is FILTHY! We got sat at a booth with smooshed food all over the floor. My husband said the men's restroom was so gross he couldn't even use it. Then, I ordered a medium rare ribeye with blue cheese crumbles. I worked at Texas Roadhouse for two years, and had this ordered many times. What I got was a ribeye with blue cheese "dressing" dumped and heated on top. Then when I complained, they tried to push it on me.
