What started as a small bump on my father's skin -- which he specifically expressed concern about -- was brushed off by Dr. Afrasiabi as "possibly an infected pimple." We trusted her professional judgment, and that was a mistake. That so-called "pimple" turned out to be a fast-growing aggressive cancerous tumor. We just spent 12 hours in the hospital between radiology scans and a three-hour surgery to remove the tumor. When we returned to this office last week, Dr. Afrasiabi didn't apologize, didn't show empathy, and didn't take any responsibility for the misdiagnosis. She acted as if getting cancer was no big deal. And mind you all 3 devices of EKG were broken the day of our visit, which needed to be done urgently to get clearance for his operation today on 12/3/25. The lack of compassion was shocking. No patient -- especially someone facing a cancer diagnosis -- should ever be treated this way. I am deeply disappointed that someone like this Dr. Afrasiabi is allowed to care for patients. This may have been prevented months ago if the doctor had listened to my father's concerns and taken his symptoms seriously. But now we are forced to spend the next week anxiously waiting for biopsy results, praying the cancer hasn't spread and hoping for the best possible news. If you're looking for a doctor who listens, shows empathy, and takes concerns seriously, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

She addressed 100% of my questions and was personable enough. She seems knowledgeable and very professional. She is the type of doctor that tests before she pushes a drug which puts her at an advantage to other Doctors in my eyes. I don't like the trial an error method that many physicians use when treating their patients. It's dangerous and careless. Dr. King did thorough testing before she diagnosed and prescribed. Specifically, she discussed respiratory problems and fertility challenges. I felt that she met and perhaps exceeded my expectations of my office visit. I visited her at Irvine Odyssey, so perhaps it is fair to also give feedback on the office as well. It's clean, modern, warm, and most importantly efficient. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes. I hate that awkward feeling that you get when you're in that uncomfortable hospital gown, the waiting room is cold, and you just keep wondering if you should take your socks off too?... there wasn't too much of that during my visit. It was easy to make any appointment. Although the front desk was busy, which made for a less warming welcome- you can tell that they work like the old school type offices where the doctor interacts with the staff and everyone keeps informed and on the same page. I should've given this review 3 weeks ago after my initial visit... but it wasn't until now that I got the chance to. I just called today because I needed information about allergy testing and Dr. King talked to me on the phone. She sounded rushed- which makes sense because she didn't make me wait while I was in the waiting room, others shouldn't have to either. I would've liked to have finished my sentences- but I appreciate her taking the phone in the first place. I would recommend you seeing her- and if you're the type of person that requires extensive time during an office visit, ask the front desk to schedule you during one of the SLOWEST times of the week. Not sure what to do, I went to the walk-in clinic (at Dr. King's old location) she was incredibly helpful and also understood my non-health insurance (meaning potentially expensive) situation and she was incredibly helpful. She also helped write a few notes for my local GP (UK doctor). Since then, I have visited Dr. King once more in her new offices and they look great. They schedule me to get my standard panel which should be free under my insurance coverage; however, I wanted to make certain that they don't try to weasel their way into somehow charging me for bloodwork due to any sort of loophole whatsoever, as they usually do. They always have a way of doing that where I receive a bill from the lab because somehow, and conveniently, the wrong code was used or whatever excuse they provide. To my dismay, it's literally impossible to ensure that I will not get charged for bloodwork. They literally made it impossible for me to get my "free" bloodwork. I spoke to Christina, the office manager, and she was so inept and so rude, she ended up hanging up on me. Imagine that? I call to ensure I get my unequivocally free annual exam, and the office manager can't be disturbed with such an outrageous request that she hangs up on me. I then call back, and she hangs up on me again. I call back, and no one answers. I then managed to get a hold of Claudia, and she is very nice and tries to help me. She says she'll look into it and will give me a call back. Unfortunately, Christina likely bullies her, and no one calls me back. That's was it. That was my experience. They take my money as part of the insurance payout, and they didn't even provide my annual bloodwork. I'm so done with these medical industrial complex gangsters and their collusion and stranglehold on the system. It's always and only about money and not the patient. Ever since I went to this office, it is about how they get paid. Just to let you know, my co-pay is $25 and it does not matter to me the cost of the service, but it does matter how I get treated for the cost of service. Well, months later, I get a bill in the mail stating I did not pay for my $25 office visit. Upon looking at the date in question, I investigated my bank statement, I saw that I had indeed paid. I copied the payment from my bank statement, and also a copy from the bill. Faxed it to them to let them know I paid in full as I always do. Well, I receive a call later, stating that the dates they had were wrong. It was another date they had in mind. When I questioned that date and validated it with payment, they came up with another date. This office is about money, not the quality of care. If you are ok with that, then this is the office for you. I would rather go to an office that CARES about the patient FIRST, the quality of care, then the billing.
