After researching all the different locations on where to stay at Stratton Mountain Resort, Long Trail House seemed to be the better decision based on general location and cost. We got lucky and got a room on the 4th floor (vaulted ceilings) and a good view of the (frozen) Mills Pond square and the valley. Very cozy room!! Nice living room with rustic furniture, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, gas fireplace, cable tv and WiFi... no complaints here!!

The Inn features amazing mountain views and huge romantic garden grounds to explore. Sunsets on the estate's large wraparound porch were breathtaking. Our room featured a four-poster king bed, lovely period antiques, a fireplace, and a breathtaking view. The gracious, welcoming ambiance made us feel we had traveled back in time. Family members who own the estate are on site to manage visitors' experience from start to finish. Melissa ensured every aspect of our time at the Inn was magical. She shared all the special things to do in Manchester, fine dining, historical areas, shopping, and hiking. By the time we departed, we wished we had booked a longer stay. We will certainly return soon! It was delightful to find a family-run estate that delivered on its promise of excellence and even exceeded our expectations. Carolyn E

Great experience! Very eclectic, unconventional. Breathtaking mountain views…read more My family rented two vacation houses at the Wilburton for our large extended family of 25 -- I knew very little about the property before we arrived, so we were taken aback by the sprawling turn-of-the-century mansion and spectacular mountain views as we drove up the driveway. We absolutely never expected the art installations across the grounds -- including 18 x 26-foot Egyptian statues! The art and decor were eclectic and unexpected, and I found them very intriguing. It's definitely not your traditional resort, but that's what we liked about it. And the statues made for an amazing night with smores by the fire pit! The Reunion House was spacious -- we particularly enjoyed the living room, as it gave us enough room to comfortably host the other half of our family (about 25 of us) for a casual birthday party. There was plenty of seating with cozy leather sectionals and two large dining tables that seated about 8-10 people each. My daughter loved playing the piano in the living room, and the rooms downstairs with the daybeds were a great place for the kids to hang out and watch TV together. (The galley kitchen is a little small, but we were aware of this ahead of time because it was mentioned on their website.) We were there during a massive heat wave and all the air conditioners worked very well and kept us cool. Our kids loved the volley ball/badminton area steps away from our house. The outdoor pool is beautiful and it was so wonderful to be able to gather there easily with our whole family. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed looking around the mansion as well. There was so much do to in nearby Manchester -- great restaurants and shops, the bookstore is fantastic. We also enjoyed the ropes course and alpine slide at Bromley Mountain. We can't wait to return next year -- we'll be staying at one of the other properties even closer to my extended family's rental house and I'm so excited for its private balconies, jacuzzi tubs, and even more beautiful mountain views!

The views are also great. And the breakfasts.....let me tell you about the breakfasts. Handmade by the hosts, multiple courses, all fresh local ingredients. Homemade bread and pastries, omletes with local Vermont cheese, potatoes, fresh fruits, juice, coffee....we were stuffed every morning. The only thing better than the breakfasts were the hosts themselves. Just the nicest couple you'd ever want to meet. They made themselves available for anything we needed. Donna gave us dinner recommendations and would include printed directions to the restaurants. She is so knowledgeable about all there is to do in the area. Clifford was so kind and accommodating as well. We arrived on motorcycle and he insisted on us keeping it in his garage. He also offered us his rain gear upon our departure because it was drizzling. He even followed up with us after to make sure we had arrived home safely. So in short. Beautiful accommodations. Great views. Amazing breakfast. Kind and helpful hosts. You really couldn't ask for more. I'll be staying here again for sure.

We stayed in the king bed master bedroom which was quite spacious and well kept. The house is nestled in an 18 acre forest which is breathtaking. For our breakfast, Donna made an amazing french toast with home made plum jam and raisins, the maple syrup came from one of the trees on the property!! I also had a delicious made to order cheese omlette. This place is everything you would want in a B&B, hospitality and service and beauty are all packaged in at Farmwood Meadows.

Nicole is not only incredibly organized and thorough but she gives tremendous advise too. The cottages are lovely and spotless due to her focus on the details and big picture. With Nicole as manager, we are considering renting some of the cottages for an extended family winter vacation. Nicole and everyone on her team are courteous and helpful, setting a wonderful tone. The neighborhood is just ok but once you walk onto the property, you'll see why its a little oasis, right on the lake. The cottages are lovely --modern with full nice kitchens, fireplaces, comfortable beds, etc. We used local vendors which worked out so well! They all had worked on the property and with each other so it was flawless. We had such a good experience, we're considering renting some of the cottages for a family reunion. We have been here twice and stayed at the Chest Cabin. The Chest Cabin can fit up to 6 people. I only recommend stayed at Chest or Hickory Cabin. The Cabins further away from the lake is a bit scary as it gets pitch black over there and the cabin is not as nice. This place has the lowest price in Lake George area for our requirements. We required a cabin on a lake and dog friendly. It was about $100 a night for us. Keep in mind. This is a regular cabin and it's nothing fancy. You will need to drive to buy things. I don't recommend walking. I don't have a complaint for Timberlane Cottages but others may which would be that there is no AC or fan and it is damp. Photo attached of Chest Cabin (left wing)
