    Farm and barn

The property is really beautiful but I would not recommend this place for families in the summer. During our three night stay, my husband had to kill three hornets. Another guest had gotten stung by the pool. Pros: gorgeous property, the alpacas were so cute, delicious breakfast included Cons: the hornets and bugs especially lots of mosquitos, our room was not cleaned every day, management of the property just seemed a bit disorganized (they forgot to unlock the pool doors one day, they kept running out of pool towels, we asked three times to feed the alpacas but they were out of apples to the point we just went to buy our own apples to feed them, the website says there are farm tours but there were none)

What a wonderful trip! We loved our stay at The Hill Farm Inn. The buildings are beautiful, the room was perfect from the great linens and comfortable mattress to the nicest bathroom of any hotel or Inn I have stayed in. The common/lobby areas were large and relaxing, we loved the darts and pool table as well as the fully stocked bar with great beers on tap. The porches had breathtaking views. There is a pool, hot tub, fire pit, mountains and trails to explore and even alpaca's out back. We had a group dinner in what they call the Event Barn but it is not really a barn it is a stunning rustic but elegant event space/wedding venue. They took such good care of us and the meal was 5 stars! Another big highlight were the staff at the Inn. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel at home. They are locals that know the area and the best shopping, restaurants and hiking spots. The breakfast at the Inn was delicious and again they took such good care of us. We are already planning a return visit! Thank you.

My recent stay at the Inn fit everything that I look for at a Bed &Breakfast Inn. The building shows the character of a building from the 1770's so know that the floors are uneven and stair treads are narrower than today's standards. I like that about the place. The Innkeepers are experienced, knowledgeable and as helpful as you want them to be. Michael made us feel welcome and his help and suggestions greatly enhanced our stay. The decor is country inn quirky and comfortable. This is a place to put your feet up, read or do a puzzle in the great room, sit in the meadow and watch the river run by, or if it's pouring rain, lay in bed and listen to the rain. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast each morning, complete with homemade muffins and granola. I appreciated that Michael was more than willing to adapt what he served to accommodate our food preferences and needs. I'm looking forward to my next visit to the Ira Allen House.

The Inn features amazing mountain views and huge romantic garden grounds to explore. Sunsets on the estate's large wraparound porch were breathtaking. Our room featured a four-poster king bed, lovely period antiques, a fireplace, and a breathtaking view. The gracious, welcoming ambiance made us feel we had traveled back in time. Family members who own the estate are on site to manage visitors' experience from start to finish. Melissa ensured every aspect of our time at the Inn was magical. She shared all the special things to do in Manchester, fine dining, historical areas, shopping, and hiking. By the time we departed, we wished we had booked a longer stay. We will certainly return soon! It was delightful to find a family-run estate that delivered on its promise of excellence and even exceeded our expectations. Carolyn E

Great experience! Very eclectic, unconventional. Breathtaking mountain views…read more My family rented two vacation houses at the Wilburton for our large extended family of 25 -- I knew very little about the property before we arrived, so we were taken aback by the sprawling turn-of-the-century mansion and spectacular mountain views as we drove up the driveway. We absolutely never expected the art installations across the grounds -- including 18 x 26-foot Egyptian statues! The art and decor were eclectic and unexpected, and I found them very intriguing. It's definitely not your traditional resort, but that's what we liked about it. And the statues made for an amazing night with smores by the fire pit! The Reunion House was spacious -- we particularly enjoyed the living room, as it gave us enough room to comfortably host the other half of our family (about 25 of us) for a casual birthday party. There was plenty of seating with cozy leather sectionals and two large dining tables that seated about 8-10 people each. My daughter loved playing the piano in the living room, and the rooms downstairs with the daybeds were a great place for the kids to hang out and watch TV together. (The galley kitchen is a little small, but we were aware of this ahead of time because it was mentioned on their website.) We were there during a massive heat wave and all the air conditioners worked very well and kept us cool. Our kids loved the volley ball/badminton area steps away from our house. The outdoor pool is beautiful and it was so wonderful to be able to gather there easily with our whole family. The innkeepers were friendly and helpful. And we enjoyed looking around the mansion as well. There was so much do to in nearby Manchester -- great restaurants and shops, the bookstore is fantastic. We also enjoyed the ropes course and alpine slide at Bromley Mountain. We can't wait to return next year -- we'll be staying at one of the other properties even closer to my extended family's rental house and I'm so excited for its private balconies, jacuzzi tubs, and even more beautiful mountain views!

The rustic charm and thoughtful designer touches created a really relaxing and cozy space. The room was spotless with comfortable bedding, large oversized shower, and good lighting that helped to make the space perfect. Yelp asks what could improve?…read more Well, for starters my now wife and I booked an elopement package here. We booked the Tier Two package as we thought it was the best value. Based on what we saw on their website it looked amazing! Unfortunately after the experience it felt extremely over priced. We were under the impression the manager Cheryl was going to be there and was assisting us with any questions or issues that came up leading up to our special day and then the day before found out that she was on vacation and Jen would be helping us. Upon checking in we went to our room the "Lucinda's Suite" which by the name sounds great. The room itself was large and rustic which isn't bad and was what we were looking for however when i went to use the shower i barely fit never mind the shower head was at my chest level. I'm not a tall person either. On Saturday the day of our "special day" we went to the included breakfast which was nice but were left wondering what was going on for our big day as we were introduced to absolutely no one and told nothing besides a time to show up. When my wife and I went to the gazebo where the ceremony was to be held it was a rough site. Paint peeling, rotting floor boards and things of that nature, not something you're imagining to take pictures in on your big day. As we sat in our room we watched as they decorate led the gazebo...with a table and a table cloth. About 30 minutes prior we were finally introduced to Jen and our Photographer Greg. The best thing i can say was Greg was truly an amazing photographer and did the best he could with our photos. He honestly made the day for us a lot better with his energy and his enthusiasm. After it all we decided to just cut our losses and go home even though we had paid for 2 nights. The 3 hour drive and staying in our own home sounded better. Overall if you're looking for a nice place to elope this wasn't it, as our day did not feel as though it was made very special. The absolute best part was the photographer Greg Nesbitt.
