We stayed here in June 2026 for two nights. In arrival, the innkeeper greeted us and gave a friendly tour as well as several recommendations for dinner. Our room was great, comfortable, spotless and at the perfect temperature. Breakfast foods and service were very nice with little extras like Vermont's cheddar cheese on the eggs and local sourdough bread. It's uncommon for me to write a review of hotels and inns. The Inn at Manchester though is worth taking time to share. This review is for a recent visit in September. We had a small gathering and stayed in 8 rooms at the Inn at Manchester for several days. The IAM is a family owned, operated and has a warm and welcoming vibe. It is ideally located, has 3 guest houses with 21 guest rooms and soft grass grounds with birch trees, VT marble chairs and Adirondack chairs. It is far enough from the downtown yet an easy walking distance to the town and many restaurants, fly fishing, golf and hiking trails. The rooms we had were tastefully decorated and large about ~500 sqft. and the largest suite was ~700 sqft. Beds were comfortable and some had separate sitting rooms with a desk. Some of us worked a couple of days and their Wi-Fi was decent. Included breakfasts offered several choices which differed daily. Solid farm cooking that we enjoyed were French toast, homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruits, cottage cakes, buttermilk pancakes and eggs made to order, bacon and breakfast sausages. They accommodated our dietary needs too. The Morning coffee (VT Mtn) and tea station is set up early in the morning and throughout the breakfast hours. We also had an event on their covered Celebration Barn patio with a fire pit. The innkeepers provided a name of a local caterer which worked out well. The event setup person was on schedule and he even stayed later to re-setup after an untimely rain. The caterer did an exceptional job and everyone loved the food! The fire pit was great to hang out at to enjoy the NE evenings. Price is reasonable given their location, service level and the quality of the Inn. The service at the Inn at Manchester is fabulous! The Innkeeper, Gabriela and GM, Todd were exceptional, warm and super helpful! They know the area well and though I've visited Manchester many times prior, Gabriela's hiking trail recommendation was spot on. Parking is a private lot and is free. While this inn is bigger than the many family run lodgings, the intimate small NE vibe is apparent! We chose IAM over better known nearby hotels as this inn isn't stodgy. I was in Vermont scouting places for an upcoming documentary film and decided to stay here at The Inn at Manchester. I had an absolutely amazing stay at The Inn and most relaxing. I arrived later in the evening and was greeted by the most friendly and professional team. After checking in they provided a full tour of the Inn and left me to enjoy this amazing place. The breakfast was a delightful start to my day, with the eggs, sausage, and buttermilk pancakes being absolutely scrumptious. The rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee further enhanced the experience, setting the perfect tone for our day of relaxation and exploration. The historical estate exuded old-world charm, complete with wood-burning fireplaces that added warmth and character to the atmosphere. The comforting scent of applewood burning made our stay even more enjoyable, and the Cinnamon suite provided a cozy and inviting space for us to unwind. As I woke up to a light snowfall, the morning revealed the true essence of country life, capturing a serene and picturesque scene that truly added to the charm of our stay. This is an awesome place to stay in Manchester! It's a lovely inn & has a lot of rooms to choose from. We stayed in the Black Eyed Susan room which was on the ground floor with it's own entrance & porch. The room was convenient for bringing things in & out & provided privacy. The only negative is that the room is real small so be prepared for that. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast each day & the people working at the inn were certainly very accommodating & welcoming! The nightly fire pit was fun to hang out with & meet others staying at the inn. We had a great stay here & I would definitely stay at this place again when in Manchester! read more

I could go on and on and on about our wonderful stay at the Inn at Manchester! The grounds are beautifully well kept, the main building with dining room is so cozy and tastefully decorated, and the service is WORLD CLASS! We were welcomed by Todd who I think is one of the kindest gentleman I've ever met, and he gave us wonderful local recommendations. When looking for an inn or bed & breakfast, you want somewhere where it feels like home. You want somewhere that feels like a seamless transition from home without being home. You want a personal touch and accomadating feeling from the innkeepers. At the Inn at Manchester you get all that and more. This all starts with the host, Brian. Instantly, one of the friendliest and most down to earth person you'd ever meet. As soon as I met him when checking in, I knew right away that he is was one of the most genuine, personable and most wonderful people you can find. He was very warm and welcoming, ensuring that we felt at home. When we checked in, he told us that a bigger room was available and gave it to us. We would've been totally fine with the room we chose when we booked, but he wanted to give us this bigger room, which was a great way go start the stay. He helped us find things to do in the area and gave a bunch of recommendations for both food and hikes. The room was gorgeous. Very clean and had that lovely rustic feel you'd expect from an inn in New England. We were located in the main building and it was never too loud or disruptive. Probably helps we went in April when it's not quite the season yet, but still. Breakfast was wonderful and had that home cooked meal and taste. The staff was exceptional and just as accomadating and welcoming as the host. Overall, if you're looking to stay somewhere that makes that transition from home to vacation seamless, look no further than the Inn at Manchester. We stayed in the Bass Suite in the Celebration Barn. We were there during the week, so no events were being held. This room is normally used for brides getting ready for their wedding. It has a queen sized bed, 2 couches, 1 tv, a small round dining room table with chairs, and a massive bathroom with a very large bath tub and very large separate shower. The sheets in the bedroom are devine and can even be purchased from the front desk. There are pocket doors that can hide the bedroom if necessary. The entire property is gorgeous! Blooming flowers at every turn. The grounds are immaculately tended. Next to the gravel parking lot, there's a small stream that runs along the property. There's a section of the garden that is obviously used for weddings. The Celebration Barn not only has a lovely barn decor that enables a beautiful seated dining experience for weddings. Adjacent to this barn, there's a covered outdoor section that could also be used for special events. This area has a large fire pit and a gorgeous view of the mountains. The morning we left, the clouds were gradually encroaching down the mountain. Beautiful! The other barn has a pool on one side and an electric charging station for vehicles on the other. In the evening they have a bar on site that's open until 9pm. For breakfast, we were offered either pancakes or eggs. We chose eggs which came with a small amount of cheese, a side of fruit, and choice of coffee/tea/oj/apple juice. We saw the pancakes at another table and both were/looked scrumptious. The entire staff was helpful and offered restaurant suggestions. The room also comes with a very thorough book containing details about the local area, down to how to use the remote. Very thoughtful and helpful. If we lived closer, I would return often. Definitely recommend!!! read more

We had never been to Vermont or stayed at an Inn/B&B so we were a tad unsure about what we were getting into. The reviews and pictures on Instagram and Facebook for the Inn at Manchester made it all seem a little too good to be true. We are from Florida and were hoping for a special magical white Christmas experience, and that is exactly what we had. From the moment we pulled up and saw the majestic Inn with the big red barn and carriage house wrapped in a blanket of snow, we knew we were in for an amazing five days. The whole team at the Inn made us feel like we were visiting friends for the holidays with their excellent casual hospitality. Virgil's hot chocolate skills are terrific and John (call him Charlie) is great to chat with and shoot the breeze. Brian and Gabriela's pride of ownership shows everywhere, and the service of the whole staff was just great. The magnificent charm of the Inn, the great hospitality of everyone, and the incredible hot breakfasts made this a Christmas we will never forget. read more

Made a last minute trip to Manchester to spend a day with local family, but decided to add a couple days to my trip. Location was perfect - walking distance to the Main Street in town, lovely grounds, and many restaurants within walking distance. The room I stayed in was large Beto expectations. A comfortable bed, softest sheets, and separate sitting room with a desk and good wifi - which allowed me to work one of the days I was there. Simple, but filling breakfast each day and coffee station set up first of the morning. I look forward to making another visit. read more

Although we are Vermonters, my husband treated me to a birthday celebration last week that included a stay at the marvelous Inn at Manchester. The room was beautiful, the grounds were manicured and the breakfast was delicious! Most importantly, were the small details that accompany gracious hospitality; our room was the perfect temperature upon arrival, sweating pitchers of iced water were arranged in the lobby, the small bar featured featured choices of quality and the host was warm and friendly. I can't say enough nice things about our stay at the Inn at Manchester. From the moment we parked, we were overwhelmed with the hospitality of the staff and breathtaking views of the mountains. Brian, the owner, did everything possible to make sure that we were taken care of and comfortable. We stayed for seven days and every day were delighted by a different scrumptious daily special for breakfast. The staff's suggestions of what to see and do were invaluable - they ensured that we truly made the most of our stay. Even when something came up we had to leave two days early, they refunded us immediately without us even asking. We felt completely at home here and would recommend the Inn to everyone. I stayed there last night and the service was friendly and welcoming. The holiday decorations were beautiful. But best of all was the interaction I had this morning with the innkeeper, Brian. As I went to bed last night, my new iPhone X conked out. It just stopped working even though it had a charged battery. I did not sleep well all night because I depend on my phone to conduct business and stay in touch with my elderly mother and young sons, as well as numerous clients and employees. I awoke at 5:30 and tried to fix it by watching some YouTube Videos and pushing the buttons. It didn't work. When I went to breakfast this morning I shared my anxiety with the breakfast chef. Little did I know that the innkeeper overheard me and he came to my rescue. He asked if he could take the phone and try to fix it. I said "yes, please, do whatever you can!" He took it into the office and started watching YouTube videos on how to fix the problem. Sure enough, 10 minutes later, my phone was back and functional. When he brought me the phone in the dining room (while I was enjoying the delicious breakfast!), I told him I wanted to hug him, I was so happy! I was not only happy but totally relieved because my lifeline to my personal and business life had been restored. Brian did not need to do this for me. He took the initiative to learn what was keeping me up at night and he solved my problem. I was (and am) so grateful. This was a special gesture and I will never forget it. Wonderful cozy place to stay very close to the main part of Manchester. Building is old but very well kept and charming. Lots of cute details that inn lovers would appreciate, such as local artwork and board games for guests, as well as a cute bar. The stay includes a hot breakfast each morning, which was delicious. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Look forward to staying there again. (Unrelated to the inn, but be aware that the entire town is completely closed down by 9 pm sharp so don't try getting seated for dinner at 8--the restaurants are trying to get you out the door at around 8 pm.) read more

Left this place a review in the fall of last year... seems to have somehow gotten removed! Interesting move. My brother had his wedding here any everything was nice except for the small details that they seem to leave out while booking. 1. Almost zero help during clean up. The chairs and tables were the only thing they touched. 2. Nothing mentioned about trash disposal which was left entirely up to us and we received zero notification or assistance from them. 3. The best part of all.... They gave someone who was gluten free bread with gluten in it and TOLD HER it was gluten free. Not so long after she was very sick and the suggestion of the staff? "Could you throw it up? Class act and definitely NOT how a gluten intolerance works. read more

Most importantly is the room was really as good as pictured on the website and a comfy bed to boot! The facility is meticulously cared for but makes you feel welcomed and "at home" with multiple fireplaces, comfy seating, nice artwork and a private bar (with all top shelf liquors for every taste) We did not know the breakfast would be so awesome but it was, "DAD" really delivers a quality breakfast! What a lovely spot! Quintessential VT farmhouse. We went for New Years to have a nice low key couple of days away despite covid - and it was perfect. No crowds, no fuss, lots of safety precautions in both the inn and all of the shops/restaurants. The place is lovely, clean, nicely maintained. There aren't any amenities but they served home cooked to order breakfast and have a cute little bar. Lots of cozy little nooks and crannies to sit and have a cup of coffee or a cocktail. The staff is friendly and attentive but just enough so you still have your space. They usually have a little room with coffee, tea, water, cookies, and a microwave and fridge for guests, that was closed due to covid but anything you needed the staff would help with. They gave all of the guests a little bottle of Prosecco bc they had to close the bar at 10 and guests would have something to ring in the new year with! So nice! They do weddings in the celebration barn, I'm sure they're lovely! Manchester is a cute town, sad to see a lot of shops closed though, surely due to covid. I hope they bounce back!! Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, a quick drive to more as well as the village and within 45 min of many ski areas. It's a nice place for a few days away! This is a cute place to wind down. We were looking for a B&B place in the heart of Manchester so we could go skiing at Bromley and to go shopping at the outlets. Julie and Frank are a gracious host/hostess and are accomodating to our needs ...like room temp, amenities and mapquest directions to local restaurants. Breakfast is included but don't expect real gourmet food just simple good American Vermont breakfasts. Everyday they baked some cookies or a loaf cake. They were delicious but could use more variety of the cookies...they only served the chocolate chocolate ones. The small butler's pantry offer guests beverages throughout the day so, I'm always grabbing a bottle of water, so that's helpful. Ask for the coupon book from the innkeepers to get discounts at the outlets. read more

I have nothing against breakfast, I just dont like the lack of privacy that's normally associated with the bed and breakfast experience, but I have to admit, I really enjoyed the things that the Inn at Manchester had to offer. Its a beautiful house, our hosts were wonderful and there was a lot of public space to enjoy with several living rooms, a pub area, and a breakfast room. We were road tripping our vacation, and so having some open spaces to sit and connect to the internet and do some mapping/planning was a welcome change from small lobby areas. Free internet is also incredibly appreciated. I loved the games books and jigsaw puzzles which were scattered around the common areas, loved that you could grab yourself a coffee or a cookie any time, but most of all, i really loved the pretty grounds complete with adirondack chairs and -- best of all-- hammocks! We own a marina, restaurant, and rental properties (two of which are vacation rentals which I use this Inn as a blueprint to obtain our properties to!) so we are trying to make it a point to "get away". This is our second return trip, to the "Sweet William" suite and love it. This time it's warmer weather so we can see the lush green kept lawns with the adirondack chairs and hammocks awaiting a return visit this summer and a pool. I know our kids will just love it here. Not only are Julie and Frank terrific but their daughter Alice who I had a wonderful conversation with while ordering my "cordial" after dinner drink. The entire property from room to grounds express cleanliness, order, decor, most importantly the home away from home! Amazing comfy beds and pillows...I love the fireplace as we don't have one. We thank you for taking the time to make the Inn a wonderful retreat for us to get relaxed and revived. read more

This was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. It is a great value for the money (still shocked by how low the bill was) and it combines all of the great parts of being a guest in someone's home without any of the drawbacks, right down to the owner, "Dad," cooking breakfast enthusiastically, and giving a warm Vermont handshake and well-wishes for the drive back home when I checked out. The Inn is well appointed, decorated and maintained. It was not ostentatious but not overly simple: it was just comfortable Vermont, style. The grounds were nice and included a lovely looking pool. We walked into the Inn and were greeted by one of the staff, a family friend of the owner. She was super friendly and super helpful and lead us up to our very quaint and comfortable room. The room was a bit on the small side, but you don't go to Vermont to sit in your hotel room so it didn't matter. They had a great included breakfast, my girlfiend said, which includes pancakes and some apparently incredible farm fresh egg options. They had a great bar where the Inn manager also served the drinks. They had some really great wines and they were only $8 a glass. We were there for a wedding and the Inn manager gladly took some pictures of us. read more

This is a return stay at the Inn. We have nothing but positive comments about this place. The room was comfortable, clean, quite, and nicely appointed. The manager was friendly and offered to make dinner reservations for us. Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and very tasty. Even the dog at the Inn, Chai, was a gracious host. We have stayed here before and will definitely stay again when we are in the area. A couple of months ago we had a reservation but had to cancel at the last minute due to an illness. I guess they were able to rent the room because within a a couple of weeks, there was a credit on our credit card for a refund of our deposit. They certainly did not have to do that since we cancelled so late but they did. That kind of honesty earns the a sixth star as far as we are concerned. read more

Thanks to hurricane Irene, we ended up in Manchester unexpectedly for 24 hours in August. Someone at the Northshire Bookstore (another great find) recommended this BNB. The proprietors bent over backwards to help us, not only with a good value rate on a newly renovated, elegant second floor room in the carriage house, but also assisting us with travel and dining info. The grounds are beautifully kept as well, and its walking distance to some of towns shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this place. read more
