Moved to San Antonio 2021, purchased a new build, so glad I searched for A home inspector near me…read moreon Google and found Fidelity Home Inspections. Lane from Fidelity Home Inspections did a thorough and great job doing the home inspection for our house which is coming up on its one-year anniversary. He went into great detail explaining the results shown on the report that he produced as a result of the home inspection. I used that same exact report and emailed it to our builder's warranty department. Builder immediately started scheduling visits to fix the issues on the inspection report the following day. Highly recommend Fidelity Home Inspection, LLC. 20 Feb 2026: Another job well done by Fidelity Home Inspections. This time, I had Michael Street come and inspect my roof. I had (redacted) Home Roofing come by last week for a roof inspection and a quote. After 4 hours of convincing (torture), that roofing company was able get me to sign a contract for a new $49k roof. After some research on (redacted) home roofing, I canceled the contract the following day, but that experience left us shook. The inspection that Michael did was money well spent, and then some. Gave me the peace of mind that I did the right thing canceling that contract for a $49k unnecessary roof replacement, and he also offered some great advice regarding the settling of our home, foundation, and drainage.

Michael and Jay were AWESOME! Super thorough, great communication, and we really appreciated them…read morecalling us after the inspection to walk through our inspection report top to bottom.

I've been a Realtor in the greater Austin area for years, and I've worked with a lot of home…read moreinspectors. If you're looking for someone who truly goes the extra mile and provides an incredibly thorough inspection, this is the company to call. They take the time to educate my clients, explain their findings in a way that's easy to understand, and never rush through the process. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and commitment to exceptional service consistently give my buyers confidence in one of the biggest investments they'll ever make. In real estate, the quality of your inspector matters, and this team has earned my trust time and time again. I recommend them without hesitation and look forward to working with them on many more transactions.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Used them twice and will never use them again. Paid them to do one property…read morein Austin which went fine. Bought a 2nd property and they quoted me a price that included a separate fee for a pool inspection. I was VERY clear that the prior owner had drained the pool and I was aware of a crack and that it looked bad, but I needed a real inspection done to identify the specific issues. They said they would do that. I said okay. I then got a report that simply said that there was no power to pool equipment and to get somebody else to inspect it. They then repeatedly said the pool looked bad and had cracks with no specific info of identifiable problems or any new info at all, and to GET ANOTHER INSPECTION FROM SOMEBODY ELSE. The house had power. The equipment is connected to the pool. All he had to do was flip the breaker to get power to it. Regardless, since I was given no new info and was told to get somebody else to inspect it because apparently this company isn't capable of doing a pool inspection despite charging for pool inspections, I simply asked for a refund for the pool part of the inspection. I was then ignored for days, and then told no because they had done it when all they did was recommend getting somebody else to inspect it. No equipment was tested. No new info was added beyond what we had told them and knew already. I have 20 properties and have gone through this process with a ton of inspectors. Never have I had an inspection company screw me over to keep roughly $100 in this manner. Maybe use them for a basic inspection of the general house, but every single add on inspection for sprinklers, pools, etc is a complete scam where they will tell you to get a real inspector to look at it while charging you for that advice.

I've used Chris Metting for inspecting two houses that I was looking to buy in Austin. I highly…read morerecommend him to anyone looking for a very thorough inspection. He's very professional and meticulous and an all around nice guy. During one of the inspections, the owner had not turned the gas on, so he could not inspect the water heater and furnace. But once it was turned on the next day, Chris returned to the house promptly to complete the inspection and didn't even ask for extra money due to the extra trip he had to make. I've used other inspectors in Austin, but they have not been as thorough as Chris.

Chris is everything you look for in a home inspector - diligent, detail oriented and easy to work…read morewith. He can usually provide fast turnaround times at a great price with to-the-point, detailed reports that give my buyers the advantage of knowing exactly what they are buying, what is truly important vs what is just needing some basic maintenance or attention going forward. I have used him on multiple deals, he is accommodating and easy to work with. He truly knows residential construction and can help my buyers understand in great detail the items that need immediate attention in the contract or negotiation vs things that can be dealt with a trip the hardware store after closing or just require keeping an eye on. All too often, inspectors are looking to prove how much they know or blow totally inconsequential items out of proportion - after 23 years in this business I have seen it all. I have seen one get a buyer whipped into a frenzy over "leaves in the gutter" and one cracked tile. Not Chris, steady, focused, provides what we need to know without distraction or embellishment. Chris is straight shooter. He gives my clients and I the peace of mind to proceed or negotiate repairs knowing EXACTLY what we need to know, at a great price and without drama (already enough drama in real estate without adding any more...lol). I will continue to call Chris for my licensed home inspection needs. He provides a critical service to both myself and my clients and we consider his input and perspective critical to our overall process. I continue to recommend Chris to my clients without reservation.

He is timely with his communication as well, both in text and email. His protocol work is extremely detailed. Due to mold infestation in our HVAC system and duct work, cleaning the duct work was not a viable option. After conducting extensive online research, Fusion Environmental Engineering Group in the Austin, Texas area was selected to evaluate and test the air in our house for mold. Fusion Environmental Group provides Residential and Commercial Mold Inspections, Indoor Air Quality Inspections, Residential Asbestos Inspections, VOCs, and Formaldehyde Testing. The Austin Fusion team of Rick Weir, Mold Inspection Consultant, and Chantell Kirwyn (Tamer of Details) were outstanding in their interactions with us throughout the entire process. Rick Weir conducted extremely thorough mold and air quality inspections. Rick and Chantell are a joy to work with. I cannot say enough good things about Cary Kraft, Senior Project Manager. Cary Kraft's clear and in-depth communication throughout the project provided us with peace of mind. Cary also ensured that we would know every detail regarding the project so that there would not be any surprises. We never expected we would ever need an Environmental Engineering company in our lifetime. The Fusion team made the mold inspection and step-by-step process as painless as possible. If you are unfortunate enough to experience a mold problem that requires professional analysis, rest assured Fusion Environmental Engineering Group is the first company you should call. I highly recommend Fusion Environmental Engineering Group.
